You ask the question, I'll give you an honest answer. My first quick glance at the video's and I thought there were two different guys. The clean shaven, very handsome guy appeared to be some sort of "vitamix expert", I assumed he'd had some sort of company training. The other guy was a bit cuter, but came across as vegan-hippie no training just his own personal experience and opinion kind of guy. So I guess it depends on what type of First Impression you are wanting to set. btw, love your stuff and plan to work my way through your videos. My Vitamix is ordered and headed my way!
Good video. What about blade cleaning and sterilization for me that is the most important thing when cleaning a blender. Especially, when you have health issues. Thanks
The blade looks removable, a socket with a 12” extension should do, and something to hold the bottom side while you loosen the nut off the blade. I just inherited one that was sitting for a while lol
@wilpemberton8418 the instructions specifically state not to remove the blade because you can damage the blender. It's not supposed to be removed according to Vitamix
I would try what eranimila2831 suggested and then do the recommended clean with soap and water after. You can also try beaker cleaning brushes. They have them in all sorts of sizes and the handles are typically bendable metal wire so you could try to adjust a small one in a manner that would help you scrub the bottom of the blades
Use a soft brush to clean the inside of the container and dry with a micro fiber cloth, this will help prevent a build of bio film and that makes it turn cloudy.
Lifeisnoyoke so u know if I can make hot drinks in the 20oz container? Such as hot flavored coffees or latte. Some people say the 20oz and the tiny dressing container can’t e used for hot liquids because of safety.

Yeah but how do you clean the bottom part, the part that attaches to the base? Some super thin grooves there that no toothbrush can enter. Ive had my vitamix for about 5 years now and all that part lookes yellow, its awful to look at
I agree with you. I have some protein powder mix under there 😆 🤣 😂. I know it sounds terrible and it is, I just don't know how to get it out of there! The screw just goes round and round and doesn't allow me to take it apart. Any advice you Guys?

My container remains cloudy n0 matter what I do and there is film on the bottom part that I cannot get off no matter what I try. I even tried using my water pick and no joy. I wish Vitamix would come out with a glass container, it would make it so much easier. I am so frustrated that I will never buy another Vitamix until they fix the container issue.
Vitamix support told me a few days ago that they are actively working on a glass container and it will be out within a year - possibly as early as the summer. The overwhelming number of complaints they receive is about not having a glass pitcher. I am using a Waring stainless steel pitcher which is not supported or approved by Vitamix but works for me -- and will switch to glass when it's available. They tell me it will work with all existing models. Hope so.
Wait, there are people who don’t clean the blender after every use? 😮 This is way easier than the disassembly and hand wash of 4 different parts that my blender requires. Why would you not?
I just got a vitamix Ascent 2300 and when I cleaned it (couple drops soap, ~1/3 filled water), and as soon as I turned it up to high the water/soap shot up and leaked everywhere. The lid was on securely. Is the seal defective or am I doing something wrong?
@@LINY For potential buyers worried about the seal, it was user error :-) I just have to listen for a good "snap" on each side of the lid and there are no issues with leakage.
When I do the daily clean... on my Vitamix... the suds ooze out of the top.. even though I use a tiny bit of dish soap and less than half full of hot water? Top is on as tight as possible too..
Just like the dry container, it's gonna have some wear marks after blending with it. Barkeepers Friend does help help to remove the buildup also, scratches not so much.
I read that keeping the Vitamix pitcher in the refrigerator wasn't good for the blades because of the cold temperature. I prepare the ingredients for my smoothies in the evening, put them in the Vitamix container and leave in the fridge overnight to save time the next morning. Should I be concerned that I am slowly damaging the blades by doing this?
It's impossible to damage the blades this way. The only consideration is that the cold temperature makes the plastic more brittle, but the Vitamix is designed to handle ice cold smoothies, so don't worry about that either. Saving time in the morning is a good thing, so carry on worry free!
I have had better luck with Efferdent tablets and a Dobie sponge on cloudy containers. Scratched one up pretty good with a brush and sodium bicarbonate :(
I find your grimey looking stainless steel appliances in the background in this "cleaning" video distracting... that you're not into true clean. Or, are you just having the same problem I'm having with stainless steel appliances that are supposed be treated with a solution that makes them easy to clean which is actually a total farce.

Try the denture cleaning tablets in warm water for about 30 minutes. Than run the Vitamix fro 30 seconds on highest speed.

Great tip. Yeah, we use a scrub brush after each use (and before running a cleaning cycle) and seem to have cleaner than average containers. :)

Yeah how do you maintain the blender motor? I know how to wash a plastic jug. How do I lubricant/grease the bearings???

This type container has only 2yrs warranty. I think it is time to replace it.

usually you can clean mold with 100% rubbing alcohol and let it sit for a while with it on

I need help, I use my vitamix to blend curcumin and it stain my vitamix blender

we use just a drop or two of dish soap and usually fill to about 1/3 of the way. maybe a bit less soap and a bit less water?

The vinegar cleaning method does not work very well. I still ended up with a cloudy container over time.

Yeah, the models with Self-Detect are dishwasher safe. You’re correct. This vid was made before Ascent Series was a thing.
