The ultimate performer. A voice for the ages. Sometimes I think back and realise that I didn’t recognise just how good he was. His ability to master any genre, and the power and range of his voice still deliver chills. Good on you Farnsey.
Me as well. I think we got spoiled growing up with his singing. Wasn't till later years, and seeing him perform live, that my appreciation grew 1000 fold.
John was about 54 here and as you can see his voice was better than ever. He really is the GOAT. This performance gives me chills and I’ve watched it so many times.❤️
John Farnham has one of the Best singing voices in the world. He is Phenomenal. On top of that he is a Sincerely nice man. A good bloke. I have loved him since he was 'Johnny Farnham' on Bandstand singing 'Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head' and 'Sadie, the Cleaning Lady'.
John was the ultimate live act with top notch backing people and no need for gimmicks. I am always blown away by his masterful mike technique. Get well soon, John.
100% on his mike technique. He's almost 'self mixing'! You can even see during duets he pulls it away even further so as not to not 'overpower' who he's singing with. A compete master of his craft.
The GOAT, as an Aussie, he is Gospel. He is religion for us Aussies, the most phenomenal singer, one of the greatest ever. Raising my kids with his gift of music to have the legend live on!
One of the best male singers on the planet. So much power x passion in all his songs such control with his voice. With his voice you can see why John was asked to be ftontman for the group Queen when Freddie passed away. Great reaction thank you.
The song was written by Steve Prestwich, who was the drummer for Cold Chisel and recorded on their album Corcus Animals. Their original version, with vocals by Jimmy Barnes & Ian Moss, was great, but this rearrangement with John Farnham was superb.
Thank you so much for reacting to one of his best live performence. His voice is from another planet. I love everything about this. He was 53yo at the time. Just amazing.
Great reaction again, thank you!…to our much loved, phenomenal Aussie legend , John Farnham. Wishing John a speedy recovery and a much brighter year in 2023!
Deep lyrics, beautiful lyrics , meaningful lyrics - and John's exquisite, powerful, emotional voice, and absolutely clear enunciation. He's, perfection plus plus plus. Gets you right in your soul, doesn't it? Jan. "24. UK. E❤
He was born to sign. He was born to entertain. He was born to become an Australian icon, Australian legend, Australia National Treasure. He always give 110% in all his performance. He is the voice!!! Pray for your quick recovery from surgery.
I can't express how much I love your reactions my friend. Thank you for responding to me and your kind words. When John and Jimmy sang it together it was sung up tempo rock performance. But this one is from his heart and soul. I still relate it to soldiers who are waiting to go home from their tour of duty and hope that they can live a normal life. Each solider would be fearful of getting blown away before they could return to loved ones. Slowed down and given such an emotional performance, John just is a powerhouse performer. Wishing you all the Blessings that the New Year brings. Love from Australia💖💖
John Farnham is one of Australia's - and the world's - finest singers. He's in full voice in this clip at age 54, and had been performing since his teens. An absolute legend of Aussie music. It's worth checking out the original recording of this song by Cold Chisel to hear how it sounded when it first came to national attention. You can't get better songwriting!
If you want to hear John Farnham sing at the age of 72 years old please watch Fire Fight Australia - John Farnham "You're the Voice" ft. Brian May, Olivia Newton-John and more! He still has it.
Isn't he just magnificent. Pretty sure that back up singer Danielle Gaha was in utero when her mother danced on a TV show with John's future wife Jillian the first time they met back in the 60's..
Danielles Mum was Jan..and she was pregnant when she did the backup dancing for Sadie. She was married to Danielle and Eden's father then, For many decades she has been married to Graham Scott..son of my Aunty Vick and Uncle Dan. The other dancer was Denise Drysdale.
John was born in 1949.. Yes that makes him 54 in this performance. His voice remained stunningly strong and clear right into his middle sixties, even then he could make you cry. This song, first recorded by Cold Chisel an iconic Australian band, is loved for its lament on loss and devotion.
He still had it until last year...the voice he has is absolutely amazing! Miss him performing but I only wish him to get well soon and spend time with his beautiful family.
One of my two top Farnsey songs the other being COOL CHANGE , both tribute covers performed originally by other famous Australian singers but both sung memorably better by John who was mates with both original artists .
He was king of pop in the early seventies then struggled to even make a living. This beautiful voice wasn’t always appreciated by the industry until his Whispering Jack album….
Can you please do a reaction to "Burn for You", "Black Dog" (audio only as it was a soundcheck) & "Long Way to the Top" with the orchestra (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra I think) Still so much for you to react to that I can't see you've yet done. Great reactions so far!
@Tatosphere You have a double audio/phase issue as you have both desktop and recorded audio (or similar) being monitored/recorded in OBS etc, when you are making your video.... Beautiful song written by the Cold Chisel Drummer, Steve Prestwich (R.I.P.) 3:33 My drummer mates beautiful sister, Danni'elle Gaha Cheers
Pressy would be so proud to see his song go so well. If you wish to hear Johns range have a look at his sound check sorry no video he sings Black Dog for a vocal warm up
John is unfortunately not very well at the moment. React to as much John Farnham as you possibly can and your likes and subscribers will go through the roof. Thank you for loving this so much. there is so much more...
The ultimate performer. A voice for the ages. Sometimes I think back and realise that I didn’t recognise just how good he was. His ability to master any genre, and the power and range of his voice still deliver chills. Good on you Farnsey.
I'm with you, always loved him but never appreciated just how good he was.
Me as well. I think we got spoiled growing up with his singing. Wasn't till later years, and seeing him perform live, that my appreciation grew 1000 fold.
Same here Glenn, I just wish now I had seen him live.
He has always been my favourite.
I've seen him live 5 times (including the duet with Jimmy). And even I didn't realise his versatility.
The finest male vocalist on the planet .
Our john has had cancer treatment this year. All is well now. Many prayers sent out. 🇭🇲🇭🇲🇭🇲
John was about 54 here and as you can see his voice was better than ever. He really is the GOAT. This performance gives me chills and I’ve watched it so many times.❤️

I have loved him since he was 'Johnny Farnham' on Bandstand singing 'Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head' and 'Sadie, the Cleaning Lady'.
He was 54 here and his voice was almost as powerful as it had been when he was younger. He was certainly pitch perfect. Best singer ever.

100% on his mike technique. He's almost 'self mixing'! You can even see during duets he pulls it away even further so as not to not 'overpower' who he's singing with. A compete master of his craft.
The best of popular singers with the best of back-up singers and musicians. John has a wonderful interpretation ability.

He really does justice to this Chisel masterpiece. I'm blown away!!

JF is around 50 here and still sounding amazing 💕💕 Gosh we love John here in Australia. 💕💕
I am so privileged to have had the ultimate, pleasure of listening to John most of my life. He has been entertaining us in Australia since the 60's.
His BEST version of this song Thankyou
A bit of JF first thing in the morning gives me a pep up. So emotional but so so so good. ❤❤❤❤
Absolute perfection! Love his voice, his emotion, his performance. ❤️

Good night 👍
Im Australian, grew up with his music. We have such love for him.
I was at that concert. It was such an awesome night. Best night of my life.

John is Australia’s favourite larrikin, we all love him and have done since the late 60s! Retired now. 🥰🇦🇺
He’s incredible ❤ He’s our national treasure here in Australia 🇦🇺 ❤😊

@@tatosphere That's so kind, thank you 💖
Besides the original by Cold Chisel this is by far the best version. 💖❤️🇦🇺🎵🎼
Thank you !! ❤️Have you seen John sing Angels with his back up singer Lisa Edwards ? Well worth watching
I haven't yet but will definitely check it out, thank you!
Goddamn! I was at this concert with my parents! What a night!
How can you not love that. 💯
Happy New Year.
You know John's about to deliver when he starts shutting his eyes and gets lost in the emotion of the song. 🎵 🎶 🎵
So true!!
Love this performance by John. He is just the absolute best with those incredible pipes and I'm tearing up. Love your reaction too ❤❤
Absolutely love John Farnham..
We here have appreciation that you have taken the time to listen to John I'm certain. ❤

In regards to John getting emotional. He always put his heart into every song he sung.

Also love John Farnham- Help (Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra). He is an absolute Legend!
I still have all his vinyl records and CDs! most are from the 70s and 80s
Such a great song and performance.
Great reaction.
Biggest regret of my life is not taking the 5 hour drive to see John live when I had the chance.
Me too😔😲😶👣
Happy New Year to Everyone, Everywhere. ☮️❤️🦘🇦🇺
Happy and peaceful New Year to you and all x
Happy New Year. Try to watch the Sydney New Years Eve fireworks, they are music synchronised and usually awesome!!

Happy New Year 🎉
Happy New Year
Listen to See the banners fall it’s fantastic ❤ Happy New Year 🥳
Happy New Year!
Same to you, Rick! :)
He was emotional at the beginning of the song
Legend
This song is about all the wars and when he touches his heart he's singing about a soldier heart that's what the song is about
It is a song that is just embedded in the Australian psyche.... the original performers, Cold Chisel are also amazing performing this live.

John ❤️🔥🔥
There’s an echo on his vocal? I’ve seen this before and the audio is clearer.❤
John got emotional at very beginning of the song
Still married to his childhood sweetheart.
Jillian was not his 'childhood sweetheart', they met during his Pippin days. She was a dancer. They both married in their mid 20's.
Why does every reactor choose the 2003 version of this song when the late 80s version is infinitely better??
John and Jimmy together ruclips.net/video/ihsfx1LuoKc/видео.html
Sadly he’ll never sing again.
Had part of his jaw removed in operation to combat cancer
😢😢😢😢
About
Australia is another Planet?😮😂
Sorry man, he sounds like AI rather than JF. Have another crack mate, you can both do better
What is that awful voice effect that you have put over this video?
He is Australias greatest singer ever, here we call him (the voice)
