What I love about John is he let the musicians play a major part in his productions. With no ego involved. Because he is a consummate performer. I really admire him and am so glad ppl are now getting to hear him internationally..

Not bad from a older dude who never took singing lessons in his lifetime. John’s vocals are next level he is a powerhouse. Thanks heaps for the amazing reaction to this great song and performance

John was 54 by the time this was filmed and he thought this would be "the Last Time" concert...LOL... He couldn't stop, the audiences wouldn't let him go and he just loves singing.. He ended up having multiple last tours.... In fact, he was still performing (with that amazing voice) up till he was 72 and only was forced to stop due to the COVID lockdown. John over the past year has battled and won against mouth cancer, although still recuperating, his sons tell us he is singing again around the house. Will there be another tour??? They say that will be his call. The cancer didn't affect his larynx, but he did have to have his jaw reconstructed, even if he doesn't perform in public again, he has left us 60+ years of memories. 💞

I was at that concert. I didn’t want to go out that night and I was so happy I did. John sings it best at any age. This was supposed to be the finish of his career but no one told his voice or his heart. Thank you.

As a Cold Chisel fan, I'd have to say this is my favorite performance of this song. John, the band, the backing singers and THAT guitar, totally elevates this song. Try name someone else anywhere in the world who could do better.....

Yes, 100%! There’s something unique about Brett Garsed’s talent that I can recognise his guitar solos anywhere. I subscribe to his channel and he also does some great performances there with the late Stuart Fraser RIP.

This is just a wonderful song. The original intent was to write about a relation ship breakup but I believe the writer threaded the lyrics to apply to either a pohysical or emotional battle and what it is to return from that (my opinion). This is a Cold Chisel song and every kudos to them, who perform this differently. I prefer John’s version because he emotes the lyrics and gives it everything. I love this performance and Brett Garsed on the guitar … perfection.

John Farnham songs - the lyrics, the backing singers, the band and their individual solo moments, the orchestra when there is one, the musicality of the arrangements, all perfect, and lastly THAT BEAUTIFUL EXQUISITE, VOICE. Gives me chills the moment his first note is out. Age 54 when this concert took place, he was still belting it out in his very early 70s right up to pandemic. And, if possible we'd all love to hear him again..... 18.9.23. E❤

Although the lyrics could be interpreted in many ways. Depending on the point of view of the listener.
It is actually a song above relationship breakdown. If you listen to it again with that in mind it all clicks.
I love the original Cold Chisel version but it's hard to beat this.

John Farnham has had a couple of last time concerts, it’s actually joked about here in oz. Sadly his career is most likely over now due to Mouth/Jaw cancer. He is phenomenal and it’s so heart warming that through his battle he has seen people the world over reacting to his incredible vocals! The rest of the world missed out, but Oz loves him

This was one of many times he tried to retire. Australia wouldn’t let him. One of his last performances before he got mouth cancer was in February, 2020 doing a benefit concert for the NSW firefighters following 2019/20 bushfire season. He was with Brian May from Queen, Olivia Newton John and Mitch Tambo singing “You’re the Voice”. He was 70. Mitch Tambo is an aboriginal singer who sang it in his own language. John has recovered from cancer, but will not sing again. You need to watch it.
