You see John indicate to his back up singers that he thinks Ray Charles has a problem with his hearing aide...as he missed his cue to sing....but I think Ray just wanted John to sing more lol.....Brilliant duet from these two legends.
When you said he's a brother from another mother, it made me wonder if you've seen him sing Amazing Grace with his backing singers. Definitely worth seeing.
Stevie Wonder sang with John on stage, Adelaide South Australia in the eighties, got some great photos he also said John was the greatest singer of all time.
Couldn't get two more religious people on earth yet singing a song about humanism and atheism. The power of "imagine" will vebruriate throughout history and we need it now more than ever.
Farnsey: reacting like a kid "OMG, I can't believe I'm singing a duet with Ray Charles" Ray: reacting like an old man who has finally completed his bucket list
I bet John Lennon is grinning from ear to ear...😁 Loved this...oh and by the way, Johnny became just John way back after his teenage years as King of Pop here in Oz.He wanted to be seen as a grown up. :-) No one here calls him Johnny anymore 😃
I had the honour of seeing Ray Charles live in Oz, a few years ago not long before he passed. Which wasn’t a frequent thing. Always a huge fan. I was front and centre. He was amazing. This here is just magic. Mr Farnham once gain shows his versatility.
Told you John could sing anything. I watched the longer version of this with Anthony Warlow and Kylie Minogue. John would never take the light off one of his heroes. Ray Charles was my first crush when I was a kid. My Nana had an LP and his picture was on it and I would hear him on the radio until we got a TV and he wasn’t on it. My parents gave me my first record player the Christmas I turned 14 with a Ray Charles LP. They remembered who my first crush was and I still listen to his music. Only John wrote that song after he left the Beatles with at least 20 other people. Siri was still saying names when I turned her off. Paul was the most prolific writer but maybe had John lived he would have done more. Paul and John often wrote together. George wrote alone and not enough, all 3 were great writers. Ringo was just the drummer they replaced the last one with before they became famous but he became the part they needed. I love that Rod Stewart bet Paul he couldn’t write a hit song using bagpipes. Mull of Kintyre was born and it is still one of my favourite songs.
Fabulous, being an Aussie myself and Music being my Passion, this is my first time viewing this. I don’t miss out on much that goes on in music, every so often you come across a little gem like this, so thankyou for that. 🎼❤️🇦🇺❤️🇺🇸🕺🏻💃🎸☘️
Stan Walker is a must listen for your class of appreciation From New Zealand of Maori heritage. Three suggested songs with Band and vocal trio "The Levites" (1) Stan's version of Kanye's "Ultralight Beam" (2) A Brilliant version of "Amazing Grace" (3) Stan's own composition "New Light" You will be blown away by the depth of emotion, the all round vocal perfection and the musicianship of all. In my opinion the Ultimate examples of NZ talent currently. 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎸🎸🎶🎵🎼🎹🥁🎷🎺🎧
When he was alive John Lennon said that John Farnham’s Help was better than the Beatle’s version. He said that Farnham’s Help was exactly how he visualized it when writing the song but the other band members wanted to do it much faster. I can imagine Lennon liking this Charles/Farnham version of Imagine. Even he, I suspect, would acknowledge that this is better than the original.
Spring is in the air. Has been quite wet thru winter and early spring (great for the vege garden) have had some beautiful days lately. Do you have a small place or room for a garden?
@@briangill4000 yes I love my garden...practically a blank slate in the new place...looking forward to it. Fly in 17th but can't have the house until Jan. Bugger!
Great. If you had the house you would just work... Now you have time to relax and maybe tour around before the hard slog of moving and setting up starts. Depending how many times you have been here.
Try Men at Work, INXS, the Divinyls, Tina Arena, Marcia Hines, Natalie Imbruglia, Kate Ceberano, Jon Stevens, John English, The Hoo Doo Gurus, Midnight Oil, Mental as anything, Goanna, Icehouse, Ted Mulry Band, Johnny O'Keefe, the Easybeats. Our talented people go on and on. You probably know about Cold Chisel, AC/DC, the Bee Gees, Olivia Newton-John, the Little River Band (original), Crowded House and etc.
Ray loved doing that song with John.
I thought I had heard Imagine enough for one lifetime but NO!
How wonderful!!!!❤
Two absolute legends...Ray and John...phenomenal!
You see John indicate to his back up singers that he thinks Ray Charles has a problem with his hearing aide...as he missed his cue to sing....but I think Ray just wanted John to sing more lol.....Brilliant duet from these two legends.
Farnham. The best male voice in history.
This is a great act, fantastic!!!!!!!!!
John was so chuffed 😂😂🎉🎉❤❤
John is so in ore of Ray Charles
He knows many would love to have been in his shoes, singing with Ray
Charles, who wouldn' love Rays soulful tones
How good is that. Ray had a great time
Look how John steps back show his respect .
Mr John Farnham is such an Australian icon.
When you said he's a brother from another mother, it made me wonder if you've seen him sing Amazing Grace with his backing singers. Definitely worth seeing.
Wow! My first time reaction to this performance too…simply brilliant! ❤️🇦🇺

That's our John and he is amazing.
Another John Farnham to listen to is When the War is Over
Farnsey: reacting like a kid "OMG, I can't believe I'm singing a duet with Ray Charles"

God l love this clip. When you're on stage with Ray Charles, you let the man sing! I just love how much fun they're having here.
Freaking awesome.
You should hear John singing Gethsemane (he was in Jesus Christ Superstar stage production in Aus)
His vocal performance in Gethsemane is a whole other level. Just blistering!
Thank you Matt! 👌🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️🐨🇦🇺🦘
John Farnham is a big Ray Charles fan.
Two legends on one stage, look how much fun they were having
A bit like the show you and Rick toured Australia with in 1989, minus the feathers and sequins, George. One of my cherished memories.
Matt, I believe you were having as much fun as Ray, Farnsey and the back up singers. It certainly made me smile again.
I had the honour of seeing Ray Charles live in Oz, a few years ago not long before he passed. Which wasn’t a frequent thing. Always a huge fan. I was front and centre. He was amazing. This here is just magic. Mr Farnham once gain shows his versatility.
That was great. Ray Charles always looks like he is having a ball
Imagine is not a Beatles song but a John Lennon song post the Beatles. Great reaction thank you for the video👍
John sings with Tom Jones on a episode of ‘Hey Hey it’s Saturday’. It’s pretty pretty .. good.
John and Tom actually did a whole concert tour in Australia. You must listen to that 🎼🎤🎶
John Farnham is the most technically brilliant singer in the world.
Even now at 70+ Farnham has lost little of his power.
Ray Charles has been quoted stating Johnny is the best voice in the world. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I love the ease of improv between jazz performers
Hey Matt, thanks or the joy you bring with your gentle wisdom. (Just a btw, we Aussies pronounce ourselves Ozzies not Ossies.)

Best song ever written in my opinion. The lyrics are everything. Great performance.
He is f'n good
Thanks for another Farnsey reaction, Matt. Haven’t seen this one before.

Merry Christmas Matt, hope you and yours have a wonderful New Year 2022

He sang this song 20/40 years ago. It was written for him. It is possible that you have heard him before
Love this...shame this was not a concert...well I think it was the opening of the Melb casino...but just so classic!
And of course Lindsay Fields and Lisa Edwards were there as well.
@@briangill4000 inching closer!
