Wildlife officers found this cute baby elephant after receiving a call from villagers regarding an injured baby elephant. This baby elephant had a lot of scars and injuries all around its body and with the investigation, vets and officers weren't able to identify the cause of these injuries.

He is not aggressive. He just wants his mother 💔
More than anything else, the little poopaphant/calf in this video wants and needs shit(dung) very badly. They rub their faces in it, roll around in it, lay on pile of it, play with and eat it. The lack of dung is making the little calf terrified. An experienced keeper will always emulate the mother elephant and stuff the calf's face full of dung, and rub the dung all over it's body multiple times daily as needed to keep it happy, and shield it from sun. These people aren't really elephant keepers.

@@abdulmoid267 The little poopaphant (calf) is clearly wailing because it wants to be covered in shit(dung). Dung is very important for a little calf's happiness and survival. Without dung, a calf will become very terrified. Anyone in their right mind would complain about this. This calf wants, and needs it's face stuffed full of dung, and it's body smeared/caked in dung. Unless you plan to rub/smear dung all over every orphaned calf's face and body to keep it happy, then don't complain. Dung is all that matters to a calf. It wants and deserves to be bathed in dung like it wants.
This is truly hard to watch. He is calling out for his mother. He is scared.
Look at the baby's eyes. He is frightened. Not aggressive. All the men do is make it worse. The baby elephant should be welcomed with warmth and caring instead of the men just standing and watching. These men don't really care about this baby elephant.

If it were not for the team of vets and others, this baby would have likely perished. No abuse is going on. They do know what they are doing. What is sad is he went through a lot before being found based on the scars/wounds on his body. He is scared, missing his mama, but is in very good hands.

He's like any other children. He's lost his mum, but can't understand it. He feels let down and so he's throwing a tantrum. He's hungry too, but doesnt know how to go about it. Thanks for bearing with him, poor baby! He just wants to get away but doesnt know the dangers.
Hell, this poor little fellow is of course unhappy and I’m sure calling his Mum. Heartbreaking yes. These guys are amazing. It takes a lot of heart for these guys to do their best to help him. No he doesn’t need a blanket or a buddy. He’s an elephant. He needs people like these who understand elephants, the terrible trauma some of these go through and, how to get them through it.
Really, looks like they stole this baby from his mother. Elephants don't Abondon their babies.oyherwise how did they have an enclosure ready. One day your children will be taken away as well. May God punish all of you for the cruelty

They play with it, rub it all over their faces, lay and roll in it, as well as eat it. Those bloody poopaphants love dung. They are very strange creatures. That is why a lot of zoo keepers rub dung all over the little poopaphants face and body often.

Poor, frightened baby elephant. My heart goes out to her. Hopefully, she will settle down and they can put her in with other babies to ease her transition. I do love how feisty she is; she will need that strength to survive being orphaned. She's trying hard to climb out of that enclosure. Thank you to the wildlife officers for rescuing this baby. I truly hope this little one has a happy ending.

I, The baby elephant was found alone, with a number of unexlainable wounds all over.
2, The mother nowhere to be found. May be killed by poachers, or succumbed by some accident.
3. The baby is already very traumatized by what ever has taken place before it was discovered.
4. Due to its previous traumatizing experience, it does not understand the people around him/her is trying to help.Of course he is not happy.
5. What ever you may think, the people around ARE actually trying their best to help him, but it will take time and patience, not done in 5 minutes.
6. They are trying to feed him milk.
The video may not be your understanding of a happy baby rescue with a happy ending within the minutes of the video, but rest assured, the people will succeed, and the baby will by and by be a happy little elephant.

Yes you are mostly correct. This is Sri Lankan people use their native language. This baby was found wondering alone in the woods when mother is no where to find. There are wild life protection people, vets and rescuers who are trying to calm the baby but he is of coz scared and try to call for help and scape. There is a elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka where loads of this kind will be raise and send back to the wild. I am sure that this little one also at good care by now.

They don't have the brains of a human, not even a little kid. If that was the case when my buddy in South Africa had to kill a mother elephant that was a threat on his property (attacked an nearly killed his relativ for reasons unknown), it's tiny week old calf wouldn't have kept coming back to it's dead moms body after being whacked with shovel, slapped, picked up and slammed, kicked repeatedly in the body and head, knocking it unconscious. Any human would get the message, and is smart enough to not keep returning for more pain. Also yes, the little poopaphant was rescued, so all is well people.

@MystyWisp How am I an animal abuser? No idea where that came from as I never said anything about me abusing animals, but ok. I said while I was visiting a buddy in South Africa, a mother elephant and her little tiny one week old calf showed up on his property. His property has a lot of land. There were a number of us there so I have no idea who or what set the mother elephant off, but it nearly killed a close family member of his for no reason. He had to shoot and kill the elephant. Huge fucking thud when it eventually dropped. Her tiny calf ran off aimlessly, but returned near it's dead mother a minute later and started sniffing and rubbing it's trunk and face in her dung for some reason.
That poor little baby. He is so frightened and traumatized. My heart aches for him.

Are they not trained to deal with this situation? Seems like they should be putting a little more effort into calming this baby down. Maybe some straw for it to eventually lay on, a blanket I don't know but I just think more could have been done to comfort this baby

What a set of lungs! So sad his momma was taken away and he/she was left all alone and hurt. He feels hopeless without his mother
He/she is a rambunctious little one. He says "you are not keeping me here against my will, I'm making a jail break" as he tried to go over the rail. The workers seem to be very attentive to him. He was just rescued, he doesn't understand what is going on. Once he gets used to this environment and to know his workers, he will calm down and will be a happy little calf and grow up to be big and strong.
Finally, someone with some sense. We're hard to find on videos like this lol. If people would just read the description before throwing accusations and hate at these wonderful people who are trying to keep elephants alive.
And I'm thinking that spunky lil feller/girl is gonna do just fine.

The elephant seems traumatized based on its behavioral cries, wide eyed look, and constant efforts to escape. It wanted no part of these humans and the pen it was placed in. It desperately wanted its mother.
