This baby elephant is ill and injured to stand up on its own feet to move towards the dense jungle. The older elephant is protecting this elephant from the strangers even though they are here to help. These are wildlife officers and experts that have arrived to take this elephant to a secure location in order to save its life. This operation is a risky one and requires them to scare the older wild elephant away in order to get to this young one. Elephants are the value of Sri Lanka, praise to the hardworking guys who selflessly help wounded animals, put their own lives in danger, but the effort paid off, cured animals that return to their own herd are always grateful to you, thank you all for your efforts

Elephants are not a commodity, or the value of any country. They've existed for millions of years, (long before humankind).

That was the mother. When she recovered from the drugs her baby was gone. I can't imagine how she must feel. Hopefully they will be reunited someday.

Thank you for rescuing this little! Baby elephant he is probably vrry dehydrated in the hot sun with no water. I hope they reunite the baby with his Mother as soon as the little one recovers and in the same spot. His Mother will be so very sad and so depressed losing her baby. I hope they return the baby back to the same area because she will stay there until her baby is returned. Baby elephants function much better with their Mother ...

Thank you for saving this baby elephant. This baby will get treatment until it become cure and healthy. Although we are not seeing follow up videos, Srilankans love their elephants and trying to save them from injuries and other harm.

This is like the second or third time I've seen an intervention team cover the baby with branches of leaves, and each and every time, the baby settled down. It must be the same for them as when a parent covers a human baby with a blanket. Here, the baby elephant must feel a sense of being protected; less vulnerable, and thus less frightened. This is good technique and should probably become standard practice for treating baby elephants in the field.
It provides shade, to start cooling the elephant down. 🙂

I agree with you, but they were not as gentle as some other rescue ones I have seen and they did not cover the elephant when it was placed on the truck. They are doing the best they can but should see how the Sheldrick rescue orphan elephants in Kenya. They also have a plane.

@@ceesarbacker6455 Sheldricks is the best. I have 2 babies I adopted. I’m hopefully planning a trip there at the end of this year to meet them. Also, Elephant Nature park in Thailand. I donate to them as well. They are a great honest place

The Wild Elefant, you are doing a marvellous job by saving these creatures. You film your operation from the beginning. You show us how you reach the spot, how you treat the animal how you take away the animal. Bur after that theres no clue about what happened to that poor animal. Most of the foreigners who watch your videos think that you sell or kill animals. As a solution i would suggest that you release the video when the itinerary is completed. Please give a thought as soon as possible. Thank you.

G Dias exactly what I was thinking. They want our donations, but we never see results. I understand that not every animal they rescue is going to survive.. they have to be honest..they just leave us wondering.
It is not their job to provide entertainment. Their goal is not to make videos about elephant rescue. Their goal is to rescue the elephants. The videos are there simply because everyone in this world noways has a camera and RUclips.

BUT.... we don’t know the outcome. The baby elephant suffered dehydration, maybe internal injuries, heat prostration, and pure terror at the hands of these men. They may have been POACHERS, intending to sell the baby. Remember the distress of the mother, unable to rescue her baby! Elephants care for their young two or more years.

Claudia. Après les soins, les bébés sont remis à la mère qui est tenue à distance. Ces sauveurs sont des vétérinaires pas des contrebandiers. Je regarde de près leur travail. 🙋🌹
