- 2020 Maserati Quattroporte S Q4 Gran Lusso review by The Straight Pipes. The Maserati Quattroporte SQ4 Gran Lusso is pumping out 424hp and 428 lb-ft tq from a Twin Turbo 3L V6. Sitting at $150,260 CAD, would this be your pick over the Mercedes S560, BMW 750Li, Audi A8?

Oh wow my guess was right on the video
Hello !
You are the best !
Can't understand why the pinned comment is 20hrs ago?
I was right! I don’t have to eat my shoes!
As someone who has a Quattroporte, you nailed it at the end with what you said. Also, you failed to thank the first owners for buying these so we can afford it a couple years later for a steal of a deal! Haha awesome review!
Wow kinda cool seeing a chris fix in the wild
Damn! Quattroportes be so advanced, they're posting RUclips comments!
Hello Chris Fix!
Chris fix watches other RUclipsrs my mind is blown
The depreciation is real
It's actually kinda sad that Maserati is associated with "BETTER than you Expect" like it's some unknown underdog because people have come to expect they make bad cars in recent years.
CAMERON MALAFRONTE I’m not sure if you can compair this and a c8, different markets
Well,it’s better than “absolute dogshit”
The last generation Quattroporte is much more authentic as an italian luxury car. Italian luxury cars historically where more 4 door GTs than what the US thinks of a luxury limousine. In some sense most european luxury limousines are primarily drivers cars (if you ignore Mercedes-Benz cars).
The current Maserati Quattroporte seem to me to be more Chrysler than Maserati. Not especially bad cars but bad at beeing a Maserati.
Their panel gaps and overall quality is awful in comparison to its competitors (Mercedes Bmw Audi)
footballcoreano LMFAO Lexus interiors clap maserati. If you want to compare prices Maserati would be equivalent to a Lexus LC and Lexus LS. Those interiors are 10X better than any product from Maserati. No one wants to be a new owner of a maserati, you’re literally viewed as a clown spending so much money on such a shit car.
As a Maserati owner and a owner of a Lexus, Cadillac, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and other more that I used to have. I can tell you that I always get looked at with the Maserati more than any other car, even if my Maserati was the worst Quattroporte in history (which to be frank it wasn't that bad). However, I personally think that Maserati needs to step it up in the quality and reliability department honestly. I love the fact that the car age really well, but still they need to improve. BUT, I also know that Maserati is over criticize at this moment for their reliability. To be honest the time that killed them the most was in 2005-2008 when they had the dual clutch shit transmission. That reputation stayed up until today. When analyzing their history, I forgive them for making my car kinda shit because of this following reasons:
-They didn't have a model that was produced in large volume
-they where kinda broke
-they needed something fast to save the company
-They needed a car that the "average" Joe could buy (remember Maserati back in the days where extremely rare, more rarer than Ferrari, hence the reason why some people stare more at Maserati than Ferrari).
When taking all of this into account and understanding from an manufacturing and engineering point of view on why the Quattroporte and Maserati in general had a bad reliability it kind of explain everything. The manufacturing plant did not had the right equipment and training in order to produce such a large volume of car. Just look at Tesla people...
However, from that desperation I honestly had to give a big thumb up to Maserati in the design department because even though mine is kind of old from 2008 (I am the type of guy who like to have stuff for very long time) and still looks fresh.

It's almost like they're biting their tongue to keep a good relationship with whoever gave them the car...hmm...
@@chadhanson4369 Not quite. Maserati sold 11k ghiblis and 314 quattroportes in the US in 2018. Yes, 314. No one's buying them. And for good reason.
@@MikeKayK idk nothing but, why nobody buy it ?? Overpriced or what ?
@@razaqadeanova3255They look and sound unique, but that's where it ends. The cars are junk, made of cheap Chrysler parts and outdated tech, and yet still cost more than most premium brands.
@@MikeKayK why did 314 people bought this thing new! Were they tortured or something? There is no way someone would pay 100k when one can buy a fucking S-class.

The QP and the Jag XJ are the underdogs of the flagship sedans. They usually don't win objective comparisons but they are just so cool to see and experience.
Who remembers the good ole days when the quattroporte was still a Ferrari n/a V8
I wanted to buy one back in the day before I found out there a nightmare on repairs
You might like Alfa’s Guilia Quadrifoglio, a V6 Ferrari
@@carival The Quattroporte has a Ferrari V6 or Ferrari V8
That's actually go developed with Ferrari. So I would say its Maserati V8 engine, co-developed with Ferrari and produced in Ferrari.
There's a Quattroporte in my neighborhood. It's one of the best sounding cars.
The v8 version is even better. Maserati's have some incredible engines.
what kind of person drives the quattroporte? is it a drug dealer? there are 3 quattroporte in my neighborhood and 2 of them are drug dealers and the other one is a legit pimp with the hottest hoes around. good to have that kind of connect. makes for fun parties
@@mujjuman The type of person who wants to be different (as opposed to the type of person who has enough brains to know the difference between a good car and a shitty Maserati).
@@MikeKayK I bought a used 2015 quattroporte for $20k USD and I really can't think of a better sports sedan for the price. The Maserati looks more modern than like a 335i and costs $5-10k less than a C450 or even half the price of an E63, and it sounds way better and is still way cheaper than a used S6 or equivalent, so for a teenager like myself I think a used quattroporte is actually one of the best buys out there. Owned for a year and no reliability issues, just high insurance (but I'm a teenager with a sports car). Obviously an S8 or S63 is a much nicer car, but I didn't feel like paying 2-3 times the price for a similarly cool used car.
@@burkemounts7107 Agreed that it looks better than those cars for sure, and if it has been reliable thus far and you enjoy driving it then that's all that matters. Let's be honest, those Germans aren't the most reliable cars in the world either. A good warranty is a must. Even so, I'm not a huge fan of cars that I'm hesitant to drive hard for fear that it's going to send them straight to the shop. I've honestly had more fun in slower Japanese cars because they love to take all the abuse you throw at them and beg for more.
Saddest launch till date.
Agreed. For 150k what a waste. It’s trying to combine luxury and sport, but it failing at both. I would much rather get the new Genesis G90 or Kia K900. About 100k cheaper and 100x better.
I liked the look on their faces.
Yep. I drove one too, and it was slow af off the line. It was pretty underwhelming for a "Maserati". Sounded hella good tho
@@shivs_pov Failing to connect sport and luxury? A ton of cars fail at that: Larger Mercedes AMGs (especially when it comes to the design), larger Audis (especially things like RS7), etc...

I want a review of Yuri's shirt. It is like this car, subtle enough but a bit flashy when you'd like to. But the Chrysler stuff so visible in a 100k car is really bad.
Whoever optioned this Maserati did an awesome job. That blue color is amazing and I love the brown leather and that wood is fantastic. I would totally buy this car 7/10. Little unreliable, little outdated, but a cool choice and a wonderful spec.
Omg I was just thinking yesterday, “I wonder if they will do a review on a Maserati?” Great work guys. I love your channel! During quarantine I have literally watched ALL your videos. It’s nice to have you guys close to home too - Waterloo here :)

I like these two - good subjective reviews, obvious chemistry as they bounce off one another really well and they make their reviews fun and interesting whilst remaining entirely relevant and worthwhile. Great video review - worthy of many more subscribers... And I have one of these cars and I absolutely adore it. The most accurate comment of all throughout the review was regarding the positive acknowledgements you receive whilst just on your normal daily drive. Lots of thumbs up, positive nods and even from a few celebs on my drive through central London. Nothing but positive acknowledgment - never any sign of negativity wherever I have been in it.The feel-good-factor you get from this car alone makes it money well spent!

It’s Crazy How Far You Guys Came!!! I Remember I Started Watching Your Srt Trackhawk Video At 500k . You Guys Really Came Far 💯.
These guys are always so objective, instead of straight up saying a car sucks because of the brand lol.
Btw to those wondering, the reason why people like Maseratis is because they look (and sound) really good, and aren’t as ‘predictable’, as, say, a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Buyers know full well that other cars may be more reliable or have more features, but they choose these because they like it, not because it’s practical...none of these exotic/expensive cars are practical.

Ah, I love the Quattroporte, THE italian Flagship sedan. You also got it in perfect "presidential" color scheme: here in Italy a Maserati Quattroporte with similar exterior and interior colors is one of the many cars used by our Presidente della Repubblica since the eighties (3 different generations of Quattroporte included this last one). Here we are used to see it with small flagpoles on the fenders. I don't know what cars your Prime Minister uses but I suspect the Maserati is sleeker ;) P.S. Yuri has great taste, we have the exact same glasses! Love from Italy
Andrea Bollani here in the US the president has a custom built Cadillac that built on a Semi chassis so yeah, the Maserati is a lot sleeker lol. I miss the old days with the 1960’s Lincoln Continental Presidential limos and even the later Cadillac models based on regular cars but I can definitely see why we moved away from that (JFK assassination, Ronald Reagan assassination attempt).
Our prime minister rides his bicycle to work.
Mark Salvagio let me guess... Mark Rutte?
@@jacobbwalters8133 Yes, the old Lincoln and Cadillac uf the US presidents were cool, very different, from an era where the american cars were incredibly different from all the others. But the current Caddilac One ... it's not very good looking :/ But I get it, safety reasons. In Italy we had a period of VERY bad political violence in the seventies and first part of the eighties so we can understand. In particular in 1978 one of the most important politician in the coutry, Aldo Moro, was kidnapped (and later killed) with an assault to his motorcade that killed all the bodyguards. His car wasn't armoured, after that all the politicians cars are fully armoured, including the sleek Quattroporte.

I had a Granturismo back when they were new and it was absolutely fabulous. It put such a smile on my face every time I climbed in and sounded amazing. It was heavy, so was not the meanest sprinter, but cruised sublimely and turned every head on every street. A real classic, although far from the most technically advanced - Maserati understand emotion over tech...

But still, how could anyone choose this over an S-class?
@footballcoreano No it isn't, Luigi. This car is as luxurious as a Civic when you compare it to the S class.
