On the road, nothing beats a Quattroporte in terms of it's arresting beauty, how stylish it is, and sheer presence. And it's also less common than even a Rolls Royce. For what it's origins are, that being a small production manufacturer, we should be thankful that Maserati still moves forward, giving us their product offering as an alternative to what else is available out there. That said, it is also doing a decent job at keeping up with other mass producers in terms of technology. Still, other brands aren't as emotive as this one is.

*Exterior:* Beautiful exterior looks. Super imposing and sharp style.

    • @cameronabrams3285
      @cameronabrams3285 5 лет назад +1

Having had the opportunity to drive one for a day (SQ4 Gransport), and I would tend to agree with you.
I would add though that they have done a good job of keeping the majority of cheap FCA parts out of the cockpit, but they're more prominent in the back seats. Because of being the driver I never noticed them and none of my passengers did either (admittedly I did have 6 people in it at one point); none of them mentioned the poor quality in the rear, but they were more enthralled simply from being in a Maserati.
My biggest issue was the turbo lag and the slow shifts on hard acceleration, as well as the rather lackluster technology. When turning off cruise control and lane keep assist, the notification would stay on the centre screen until I had shut the car off, opened a door, and restarted it. Bluetooth pairing also left a lot to be desired at times. As well, the left hand turn signal lines up perfectly with the speedometer needle at 30-40kph, the speed at which the majority of turns are taken. Its knit picky, I know, but when playing music at even a reasonable volume, you will find yourself double checking to ensure the signal is actually on.
I would definitely consider purchasing one in the future as a daily driver, simply because with their absolutely abysmal resale value, who really cares what happens to it.

It needs to be appreciated by enthusiast. We see so much hate on our cars on the internet, but still, in real life, we get so much appreciation everywhere we go (at least this is my experience). VW amarok is another one and many many other german ones specially vw's. Dont forget Maserati uses same quality leather as Ferrari and Maserati is a luxury car, not any cheap piece of crap.
Now that is where the germans win, cuz they managed to brain wash the world making the world think that all german things are good, are the best but its far from being true. Spend time with many cars and you will see how german cars are not that well built as people say. When cars are new all is fine. Give it 10 years then you will see.

  • @4doormas758

The truth about the Quattroporte is designed by Maserati and built in Italy by Ferrari. Quattroporte Maserati is a 6 cycl car with Ferrari F160 (Google it) built engine 425 hp with a speed 0-60 4.7 sec. That can go to 180 mph.......The window switch 2518200110 was a part of Daimler/Chrysler from (1998-2007) $65- $144 dollars. The switch is in the Mercedes ML350, ML450, ML550 for example and also in the Mercedes-Benz ML320, ML63, AMG and also again, still used in today’s Chrysler/fiat cars.
So, the Maserati Window Switch is the same as the Mercedes Benz part that was passed on to Chrysler/Fiat cars. So do you call Mercedes a Chrysler?
At 19 different parts as buttons, switches sunshade at $3500 dollars in the Quattroporte.
..........so who “really owns” the window switch?
I would rather have these buttons that are none sticky. Because in the past like Benz, Ferrari, etc.had buttons because heat melted the buttons.
Also , Material alone for the "Engine aluminum block" for a Pentastar V6 is $4,379.47 dollars the "modification" material alone of the Engine assembly $27,247 dollars. Some modification are compression ratio, engine timing, forced induction. Just because the block is similar doesn’t mean they way it functions is the same. It’s a high performance engine with 150 more HP which the Italians added to the so-called original Mercedes design. So, is it a Chrysler?................Mmmmm........ No . The "aluminum engine block Pentastar V6 was design by Deilmer-Chrysler" - Mmmm -Mercedes (made in the US that is a hunk of metal) is delivered to Italy and ASSEMBLED by Ferrari with there modification of the Mercedes design and uping horsepower to a 425 HP. The Pentaster v6 does 275 HP ................."Google it... Ferrari F160 engine" ..also Look-up ............Designed by Maserati and built in Modena Italy by Ferrari. "Who its made - Dream Cars," that highlights the V6 QuattroporteS Q4 that is being assembled, painted in Turin facility in Italy. These are not actors or a stage in this documentary..........................

Modern Maserati are built in Ferrari plant The car roars from a Ferrari built engine, aluminum engine block only is from south Carolina assembled in Italy. Even the oil filter is by Ferrari. Ferrari artisans furnish and assemble the Italian leather, real wood, and Alcontera interior. Mmmm So, what Chrysler car has that?
Maserati Transmission shift quality. The 8HP transmission from German supplier ZF is quick enough to serve sports cars and graceful enough for large luxury sedans, and it combines those elements of speed and smoothness whether it’s installed in an Aston Martin, a Rolls-Royce, or a Jeep. At $9,581 dollars
The UConnect entertainment monitor/system is by Chrysler installed by Ferrari and one of the best in the industry. At $2,891 dollars

I leased one from 2016-2018. Engine was good but the craftsmanship is horrendous! Besides the large gaps and loose panels, poor craftsmanship = creaking interior. First 2 months the car was good. Then after about 2,000 miles,..I couldn't wait for the end of the lease. I should have gotten the Z06 (which I drive now). Corvette is a terrific value.

No supercar can bring the feel of maserati. The feel of wanting to go speed without sticking a rear spoiler. It's the only supercar you cant imagine sticking a rear-spoiler. Maserati is a feeling to which even ferrari surrendered it's engine.
