it’s good to release the big snapper because as you said they are the best breeder and because the big ones are normally older they don’t taste good either.
Come and fish New Zealand, we have summer snapper, winter snapper, harbour snapper, shallow snapper, deep snapper, snapper off the rocks and snapper in the surf! Sorry, hot day at work and was just in the mood!
Great fishing again mate, a nearly came over there from the UK, to work for Stabicraft, the ship/Boat building here is finished. Keep the vids coming. Davey.
you should fish in the firth of thames coromandel there are good snapper some kingis and kahawai good bait is squid and pilchards and any fresh yellowtail you may catch.
Yes, they are a porgy, not true snapper like for ex. American red snapper. If you Google grey porgy or fl sheepshead they have an almost identical body
I agree with you there. I know with flatties, the females reproduce often (at least once a year) at around 40-65cm but people will take those out of the water and get annoyed when an 80+ does but she would only reproduce every 3 years and wouldnt be as successful.
@@mirandamoloney2837 you cant compare snapper and flathead though. the meat quantity difference is astronomical comparing a 40cm flatty to 60 then to a croc. with snapper, i think 45cm to 75 is the best to take
It's all good and well sayin everyone has to release the big fish, but I wonder how many big fish matt slayed before he came to that realisation, I'm gonna guess its more than I'll ever catch
when actual music and his hymning was miles aparts.. but still enjoyable till the end!! LOL But btw.. Barotrauma fish shouldnt be released like this.. imagined the air in fish expanded while coming to the surface.. it should be drop back down with a heavy sinker to help compress the air in the swim bladder without having to puncture anything on its body. I hope you lads do it the correct n proper way and not letting air out of its body...
@@folklore_xdfolklore_xd2884 thats the problem with you people. helping the fish decompress is way better than poking it and releasing some air from it.. if u didnt know by now!! He was just doing what most would have done .. letting air out.. doesnt mean thats the final answer or the best answer to this problem.
@@folklore_xdfolklore_xd2884 from the way you reply.. You basically have little idea about compression and decompression. You have even fewer ideas about water ingress, bacteria infection and how this may reduce the chances of the survivability of the fish. what was done here letting the air out was the norm which most anglers are quite used to.. doesnt mean that THIS is THE BEST WAY TO DO IT right here.. right now. All you know is taking sides.. trying to tell someone off than focusing on this matter which would be beneficial for all catch n release anglers.
@@FishingSGsWild oh please you wouldnt have a half a clue how long has been fishing for maybe go look at all his videos what most likely date back 15 years and also helps out fisheries with there data . But hey seems like you know it all the fish came from 20m of water and not 100m..

Hey Matt, new boat looks awesome! Will you still be doing Marlin and Swordfish videos or moving to more bay-oriented stuff?
Can you guys please do an episode on landbased fishing in Dunedin? I'm struggling to find fish here. Cheers boys.
Matt, you gotta come to South Korea as you are the superstar now for 'Angry Lee'.
Nice catch
Are those Dentex genetically similar to our Red Porgy in the states?

What are the rod and reel setups your using
Where is that at
Love your videos mate love to know what rigs and setups you run 👍🏽
I rekn it's worth taking the big ones means that you don't have to take 5 small ones.

Should be illegal to take big fish over a certain size!!!
Mr T I thought that’s illegal to fish in another country waters.
Hanoi Tripper they pay the New Zealand government to fish Nz waters
@@bourgeoisiez764 nz gov is a joke
