We even went to a rodeo, because why not? And while doing ALL of these activities, there is literal eye candy in every direction. Its gorgeous. The air is fresh. There aren’t people EVERYWHERE. As an environmental scientist, I can give credence to what people say about Disney's pavements. There's a lot of researching being conducted right now in the field on what's now been called the "urban heat island effect" where man-made structures (especially those that do not follow smart growth methods used in newer cities) may actually be increasing energy costs and demand as well as pollution through increased air conditioning usage since all of the asphalt, concrete, glass, and lack of tree coverage are absorbing greater amounts of heat versus normal ground conditions (bare soil, ground underneath trees, etc.)
Also, while we're all shitting on Disney's practices, I will never not be mad that the construction of Disney World's water areas (by diverting local salt marsh habitat hydrology) and the construction of Cape Canaveral directly led to the extinction of the Dusky Seaside Sparrow. And on top of this, Disney helped capture the last surviving handful and put them in the park in an attempt to interbreed them with a different species (a big no no in conservation biology) so that they could be heralded as "the saviors of a species."

I lived in L.A. most of my life (I'm 63) and between 1970 & 1995 I used to go to Disneyland on a whim with family and friends, or when people came to visit. Ah, the Disney weddings part! I remember there was a special on TV probably more than 10 years ago that featured Disney weddings. The prices were INSANE. Specifically I remember when one groom and bride were deciding what dinner service to have, and one of the wedding planners mentioned that they could add some kind of special "smoke" to each dinner plate that when the lid was taken off of it for each guest it would create fake steam or smoke to make it look like the meal was piping hot and fresh. The price tag? About an extra $25 for each plate, (just for some brief fake steam) and each plate of food was already more than $100 (it was somewhat less back then, still ridiculous price!) and they were having more than 200 guests! Do the math and the number makes you want to cry.

Y’know, When I now think of the poor deceased child’s family that was denied by Disney to have an image of Spider-Man be engraved on the child’s gravestone because of the stupid reason of “preserving the innocence of their characters”, I think back to all the famous people of Disney who passed away. Whether it’s Walt himself, any other person that was responsible for the other amazing art of Disney existing at all and that had a good hand at shaping the company to begin with, famous voice actors that were known for voicing an iconic Disney character, *ALL OF THEM* have had their work on Disney related content be mentioned and shown in their tribute after their passing. At the end of the credits of a few Disney movies, they would pay respects to a loved one or a person associated with them like the late voice actor of Mr. Potato Head in the credits for Toy Story 4. And yet for some ungodly reason, some higher-up at Disney just legitimately for the life of them cannot bear the idea of this one deceased kid having something Disney related that he loved and associated himself with when he was alive be represented in his tribute.
    Jesus Christ.
The hypocrisy is disgusting and infuriates me. I believe that families of deceased loved ones should have the right to represent the various things that was heavily associated with and loved by their deceased loved one in their tribute. It’s a disservice to take away that right and for a stupid vague reason at that. I can only hope that that poor child has access to all of the Spider-Man content in the world up in heaven. The champ deserves it. 👑
