On one hand in some ways it makes it more flexible (and MUCH more performable), but on the other hand there's a BIT of a learning curve making the transition if you're used to synths like Vocaloid or UTAU. I tend to play all my chipspeech lines live on a MIDI keyboard so that I can "feel" the voice more naturally. If you don't have a MIDI controller, you're going to want to shift the notes a bit earlier on the grid and add a bit of space between them.

So I just put this into Google Translate, and I don't know whether or not this is the error OF Google Translate, but the first line translates "systems" as "organizations". I mean "system" as in "computer system", referring to how SAM was originally ported to several different 8-bit computers. Also "hear" is a different word than "here". Very easy mistake to make, honestly. According to Google Translate (for whatever it's worth), "I hear its song" translates to "その歌が聞こえる". Other than that, this is a very good translation! Actually, the Portal 2 soundtrack made heavy use of Plogue's "chipsounds" VST (the NES triangle is VERY clear in some pieces). I used the SID engine from chipsounds for a few synth parts in this, so that might be it?
Also fair warning in advance: this song has SEVERAL tracks of SAM, not all of which serve a vocal role. I tend to use harmonies in my chipspeech arrangements to thicken up the voice and make it clearer (plus i'm just A Sucker For Vocal Harmonies lmao)
Well, yes and no. It works in a completely different way (real-time rendering as opposed to piano roll edit) and the timbres you get from it are far less humanoid, but essentially it does the same thing in terms of converting text and notes to singing.
