i enjoy following your instruction- very clear and the video itself is beautifully edited. Thank you Sigoni! looking forward to following other projects you did.
I love the look of this project and am anxious to try it. These would make good gifts. The color combinations you used are neutral but not boring. Thank you for the tutorial.
Yr tutorial is very easy to follow. I’m so thrilled to be able to make a similar basket. Will b making more as gifts. Maybe nesting baskets. Thank you. 🤩😇❤️
I'm SO happy I found your channel 😊 The way you show and explain the magic ring/circle if perfect! I get it now ☺️ and I'm starting this basket right now 😁
I like this basket a lot I learnt crochet first time going thru your 14 day lessons at age 84 ! In my enthusiasm i ordered few balls of Paint box 100 % cotton Aran yarn and found it is too thick n splits ! Instead of returning those can i do this basket in single strand of that thread I do not like to make wash cloth or dish cloth I also bought cotton. DK Paint box yarn They are very nice and i can make coasters and placemats with them Would like your advise what to do with cotton aran which is very thick
I love the basket. The instructions were good until you came to the spike stitch, I could have used some more instruction on this stitch. I had to google have to make the stitch. But overall it was good.
I want to make a larger basket to place everything I need for a current crochet project, ie pattern, yarn and tools (in a soft pencil case) Is there a way to estimate how much yarn to buy Thank you for including how to enlarge the basket in your pattern. And thank you for making these fantastic easy to follow tutorials.
You could try using a bulkier yarn and using the same pattern. I’m not sure how much yarn you would need because it depends on the yarn you choose. However I am planning on coming out with some larger basket patterns!
Hello, I am going to make my basket wider. Can you please explain how I calculate the increases to do per row and total stitches at the end of every round?
This is a great tutorial. Thanks. I am a new crocheter and have one question... when doing the sides you mention single crocheting with a slip stitch for each row. Do you do a chain stitch as well?
Two questions: where you changed colour there is a bit of the orange colour where it shouldn’t be. Can you change colour in the next stitch to avoid this? Secondly, have you answered the questions about how to stiffen this?
My friend would like something like this for a cat bed. So it would need to be more oval. Is there a way to do that while keeping the esthetic of your increases? I really love that effect. Your color choices are lovely. Also could you add in a blosc row to make the start of the "sides" of the basket more pronounced?
I used cotton yarn because I believe it makes the sides of the basket stand up better, but I don’t think using acrylic yarn would make too much of a difference. You’ll have to let me know once you make your own! 😊
Sigoni Macaroni I’m currently making this basket for my pre k classroom and I’m using acrylic yarn and so far so good! I would prefer cotton though but since it’s for kids and cotton is more expensive I went with this route and it’s easier to wash with other toys in the classroom!
@@user-hh3go9po3vfor the basket that I originally made I used one strand of red heart size 4 yarn. I used less than 225 grams Base: 18cm across Height: 9cm It's a little short on him so I would add two more rounds, whether they be with the first color or the second color is your choice. I used the pattern to a T, besides the single strand.
Please help!😮 I made the base and I turned out great. Then I did the first line. When starting the second line I slip stitch. Where does the next stitch go?
Can you tell me how you got the basket to stay up like that? The baskets I made are kind of floppy and I'm not that happy with that. Thank you! Btw the pattern is great!
I think it depends on the type of yarn you used. I used 100% cotton and a smaller hook so that the edges would stand up by themselves but they’re still easy to move around. You might be able to manipulate them enough to get them to stand up. Or if it seems like your stitches aren’t tight enough, trying going down a hook size. I hope that helps!
How did you double the strands on the accent color if you're only pulling from one skein? Do you just pull a bunch of yarn out and work from the middle of the strand to double it? Thanks! Absolute newbie here 😁
I actually used the strand from the outside and the strand from the inside. It sounds like it would be a mess but I didn’t have any issues with tangling! If for some reason that doesn’t work for you, you could roll half of the skein into a ball and then roll the other half into another ball and work with them that way 😊
Would I be able to extend the measurements? Like instesd of stopping at twelve for the base, could I extend it to... 15? And could I just keep raising the sides up as high as I want?
I'd love to do a bigger basket... one where I could place blankets into etc. What would you recommend to make the pattern bigger and how many rows would this be?!?
I would use a bulkier weight yarn if you’re wanting to make a larger basket. Just continue increasing the bottom rounds until you reach the size you want the diameter of the basket to be and then plain single crochet until you reach the height you want 💕
Hi. I just finished the two colored basket. However when you show yours, it has an angeled bottom not circular. How did you do that? I think I want to try another one and try the angeled bottom
This project and pattern is so lovely and looks relatively easy to do. But I'm concerned about the weight/thickness of the yarn. It's so frustrating - the metric/non-metric systems across the globe is different. I don't know what's equivalent to the yarns you used here in my country.
I totally understand that! I'm hoping to make a video on this in the future. I'm not sure if you use Ravelry, but I found this really helpful. It is a summary of the different weights based on US/UK and other countries. I hope it helps! www.ravelry.com/help/yarn/weights
Hi, it's nice basket, I am currently trying this...at end of base of basket you say to just slip st and continue only single crohet in each St.... Pls confirm if I have to chain one after slip st and continue single crohet
I used both the strand on the outside and the strand on the inside 😊 I didn’t have any trouble with it tangling but if for some reason you do, you could roll up two separate balls
Hi I’m currently making this basket using your tutorial, for the magic circle, no matter how much I tried I can’t make it so tight that the space in the middle disappear, am I doing something wrong?
No I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. Try tightening the hole as you go and it should close. Also when you weave your ends in at the end it should close up 😊
I’ve been trying so hard to make these, but every time I make them my work curls upwards. I’m using 8ply wool. I’ve even tried upping the size of my hook to a 5mm and then 5.5, which doesn’t seem to work. It’s not a tension issue either as I’m holding it as loose as I can. Any ideas how to fix this?
I just updated the link within the post. Thank you for letting me know it wasn’t working! You will need about 343 yards of yarn. 2 skeins of your main color and about half a skein of the accent color
