  • Hi, thanks for watching. Hopefully, I got the names of the stitches right.
Bernat Maker Home Dec Yarn (I bought it in the color Cream. It's currently unavailable but there are other colors.)
    amzn.to/3cxxO1k
    I used a G or 6 crochet hook.
1st Round (Magic Circle): 6 single crochet stitches
2nd round: 2 (amount of single crochet stitches in each stitch)
    3rd round: 2, 1, 2, 1
    4th round: 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1
    5th round: 2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1
    6th round: 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1
    7th round: 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1
    8th round: 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1
9th- 20th round: 1 single crochet in each stitch
To finish the basket, I made a round of slip stitches.

      Can I offer advice ?
      Get a pen and paper
      Play video
Write down each step for each row leaving nothing out
      Get your hook and yarn
Now begin ...Read 1st step play video ...copy the step and stop the video.tick that step off on your paper.
Continue to follow each step ticking as you complete each row. Do not forget to slip stitch your row end to close the circle and to make a chain to begin the next row .
You can use Bobby pin. Safety pin.paper clip.a piece of wire or even a dark coloured strand of yarn to Mark where each row ends .if using yarn use hook to pull yarn through the stitch to mark row end.

Hi, thanks so much for the video! I'm a complete beginner and I find there are couple of things that can be mentioned on the video that may help others here.
I think it would be helpful if you could let us know the total number of stiches from each round so we all know that we are on the right track. Judging from the comments I think I'm not the only one who got confused.
I also had to learn it the hard way that I shouldn't hook the slip stitch (from previous round) to close my round. Moreover NOT to start my first round (the 2 x single crochet) on the same slip stitch that I chained. Hope these make sense. I know you showed that on the vid but for beginner it just need to be clarified. Because for me at first, the first stitch was literally the next stitch. I made these two mistakes resulting in pentagon shaped base
Having said that, I love your explanation of the increments (3rd round 2 1 = 3, 4th round 2 1 1 = 4) for each round. It makes perfect sense to me thus I can expand my base to 17 rounds. Plus I love the way you do the magic circle.
P.S Sorry for many comment edits. I had to go through your vids so many times to make sense of the process plus to explain correctly

      @ninanoorable 2 года назад

@@nooo7328 I was on an online course before and the tutor said that there are several ways to crochet in the round .. and one of them results in hexagon I think or atleast edges but it's no problem because as you make it bigger it starts to become more round and unnoticable..so you are not wrong I think

Hi! There is something not clear to me. The bobby pin to mark the end of a round - do you insert it into the last chain stitch of the round or into the slip stitch? Second, when you go over it, do you make a crochet stitch into the slip Stitch of the previous round or nothing? Thanks!

alot of people seem to be getting a shape that isnt a circle! that might be because instead chaining one to start your row, you should just go into the next stitch. chaining one leaves a points at the end of each round and it isnt a circle

Love this tutorial.. This is my first attempt at crocheting, been at it for 5 hours now. Almost done now.. I think i made a small mistake, so every time i ended the round, i think i did an extra stitch, so the basket looks more slanted one side, not a complete cylinder. I think with one or 2 practicses, i'll get this. But thanks for lottt for this easy tutorial.

I was going to use blue an white but started with blue forgot I was going to do the two colors but I will make another one. too.

Ik this is a late reply to help, but after finishing each round you’re basically adding the “1 single stitch” every time. Meaning… after you finish 2 1 1 1 1, you’ll add a 1. Turning it into 2 1 1 1 1 1. And keep adding 1 more stitch after each round.
