I have been trying to crochet a basket for my Mom who had to move into a nursing home. She loves to knit, but has Alzheimer’s and can’t remember how to knit or crochet and that makes her cry, so I am making it for her. I just wanted to let you know, I love your videos they've helped me so much in my new crochet journey I started on March 24th and I feel like I've come so far so thank you.
Also on the basket I wanted to let you know I love it and I've made so many but on my most recent one I decided to use super bulky blanket yarn and for rows 5 and 6 I kind of dis my own thing I turned to work from the outside(like you did for the reverse single crochet) and I did a half double crochet in the back loops only for row 5 and then did a single crochet in the 3rd loop of the hdc . But I wouldn't be able to do that had I not had you helping me learn from day 1.

It sounds like you're adding stitches somewhere in each row. Try to count as you go, or just pay close attention while you're crocheting so you don't add any extra stitches. Remember that the last "stitch" of the round isn't really a stitch. It's your slip stitch from the previous round. That may be where you're adding stitches

Oh great idea! You can tie off your work before the crab stitch row and add your new color when you slip stitch to finish the round. Or you can just tie off your work and weave in your ends, then add the new color at the top of any sc stitch and continue with the crab stitch. I hope that makes sense!

Thanks for your tutorial, it worked very well and the crab stitch was fairly easy but not as tidy as yours!

Tried the crab stitch for the first time. Thanks for sharing! It is perfect for the basket and it does make it look more finished. 🫶🏼

This was my first time doing all of it!! Making a basket and doing the crab stitch! Your tutorial was soooo good I was able to get right through it. I even kept the bottom going to make it bigger and use up my whole skein of self striping yarn. It turned out beautifully!! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us 💛
