I got banned from the WSL live chat because I spoke the truths that the worst male pro surfer is better than the best female pro surfer, that female pro surfing is nearly as pitifully bad as WNBA basketball, and that what’s routine for men is miraculous for women.
I'll tell ya what I want. I want Pipe to be the last event of the season. I also want the WSL to go at the Box if it's firing - don't defer to Main Break. Go back to Fiji -either Cloudbreak or Restaurants every year. And, don't let J-Bay fall of the roster. WTF
He's going to spend this year refining his technique on hollow left's. Attempting to stand a chance at the Olympics at Tahiti. And gets a free wildcard back into the wsl afterwards. No way it's a mental health thing, he's always playing the system to work best for his skillset.
Been surfing for 45 years. Yet I pretty much surfers are snobs and think they are above everyone. Humble surfers are the good ones. Skaters are much friendlier
I meet Toledo once in Barra back in the day(humble person) He was enjoying free surfing and had a passion for it. I understand burning out on the competition aspect of surfing had on him. It’s very stressful and can destroy one’s enjoyment of the sport. By the way the WSL is literal circus and disappoints most who enter. I’m sure he will be back with a vengeance…

Look, he didn’t engage at pipe, then suddenly “got food poisoning” then canceled an entire year of comp in perhaps the prime of his career for his “mental health” just clearly chicken maneuvers and not something any other surfer at this level is doing.
Being a part of WSL chat for over 2 years has been a wild ride, and a ride I didn't even realize I was on until I recently felt the need to hop off. Mixing it up, having fun, poking at, enjoying the comp, complaining about wsl treatment of fans, all that and more has made watching it fun. However, the wsl decided it was time to drop a mod in the chat during the pipe event, and just like that, my fellow chat staples were disappearing. Twas a sad day, and had I the time could regale you with odd ways in which the wsl treats their most hard-core of fans.
Sam probably tucks his t shirt into his trunks. The One Eyed Bard set the standard for scathing critique when I was in junior high and most of my friends still agree with his assessments.
The trolls had nothing to do with it. He just wanted a break to be with his kids. The guy is so good he has another 2-3 World titles in him at least at his time and choosing.
A lot tradies who shred snapper before and after work every day have a baileys ladders on the back of their utes, they are more connected to core surfers than the WSL is
