A main theme for a lot of the Cartwright adventures was doing what's right for others and whats right, period. Not just whats right for yourself. A simple ,timeless message .
Andrew Drabble. One of the best episodes, a true love story, loved it. Wow, poor Joe, got beat-up for defending her, she pulled a rifle, gun on him, had to Dr. him, had to fight again a man shooting at him, beat, used him as a shield, if Pukie, were smarter he would have lost. All because he told her to kiss the guy. Great ending and acting.
Some Bonanza trivia. This episode was supposed to star Adam (Pernell Roberts), but, he got sick and couldn't film this episode. So, the directors replaced him with Little Joe. Glad they did. Michael Landon was superb in this episode.
I researched Faye, born in 1924, gone @75 would have been 100, 4 weeks ago,I am personally attracted to blondes and redheads, but Faye was a remarkable natural beauty, I also see she was cast as SUPER GIRL in the 1950s,INCREDIBLE !!
Sensitive drama in this episode. The David Rose score with the trumpet gives a touch of urban, even Film Noirish, in this Western. Many Bonanza episodes were scored with the Rose touch of urban. A fine episode, even with the formula ending.
If you look closely as they are departing on horseback at the end, you can see that Michael Landon actually pulls a string (right hand) which is attached to the horse's mane, which signals to the horse to rear on its hind legs. It was a nice touch as to say 'goodbye' while on horseback from Joe Cartwright.
What a great episode. Turns out I did like Paul Richards in his role after all. I don’t believe that I’ve ever seen that actress in any of the movies that I’ve seen before but she’s a beautiful woman and a fine actress!!! 👏👏👏👏😍😍😍😘😘😘🥰🥰🥰
I have covid right now. Nothing like what the media makes it out to be. I know several friends who had it. No different than a bad flu. Seems to be a very small percent that really get sick.
Wow, they kept to the script, Little Joe didn't have his guns after the bank robber dropped them into the well, impressive. This was a very interesting episode about a kind of love and redemption not seen nor experienced. I'm surprised LIttle Joe finally even after his first beating in the house giving that tall blond his good beating in the barn. Great comeback.
@@dillantrader6898 you must not have noticed the many bloopers in the Bonanza series. Lots of them!! Many of them in the house on the Ponderosa! Pay close attention to how many times the house is used for other’s homes, even a bar! And when they stand outside with the door open there’s a blank wall with a chair against it that isn’t there when they go inside. There’s many more but that’s enough to justify Mr. Branam’s comment. 😂
Darn. This might have been a great episode, but I don't know if the widow ever got the money from the bank draft. I live alone myself, so I envy her for having a possible future with a reformed bank robber after he's served his time. This may be fictional, but I hope it works out for them.
Yes, the widow got the money because nothing was lost. It was disappointing that she never revealed that a lot of that money was hers. It would have been interesting if he had asked if she could last 5 more years without a man. Could have set the stage with him earlier commenting that she had no sugar for tea because it was too expensive, or something like that. Then she could have revealed "I'll be fine, $2000 of that money you stole is mine."
Missed out on all the episodes of Bonanza as it was bedtime hour for me according to my parents...8 P.M. Rather a treat to see them now (😅over half a century later😊); moreover, grateful Little Joe rather than Adam had the role. Little Joe's agility in those skuffles with the bank robbers are fitting, yet he has some mature caring moments too.
I remember when I wanted to watch a new western called Have Gun Will Travel, but it came on at 9 which was when Mom wanted me to go to bed. She said I could watch it when I was older. You are lucky Bonanza episodes are available. I loved watching Little Joe in the two-parter Ride the Wind.@@sueshow401
The story has major flaws in its plot. Faith Domergue smooching and falling in love with Paul Richards is the principle one. Had the director taken advantage of the contradictions in Richards character it would have been a better teleplay. But in any event it was fun to watch and thank you for putting it on the Web.
Come on he wasn’t that bad. He had multiple chances to hurt people and passed them up tried to keep his partners in reign and even ended up going back voluntarily. I’m just saying. Growing up on the wrong side of the track isn’t the same as being no good. He obviously had a lot of good in him or he couldn’t have done those things.
14:23 Disappointing entrance. Joe should have stayed quiet. No matter what happens, the woman would have had the gun up. If he was shot, she would run or shoot back. If the robber said anything to push Joe to talk, she would know that there were two men. If Joe stayed silent, she would answer the same as she did before. But then the story would run very differently....
A main theme for a lot of the Cartwright adventures was doing what's right for others and whats right, period. Not just whats right for yourself. A simple ,timeless message .
Mr Paul Richards did a splendid job on The Rifleman as well playing a man named Sam Morley.
This is a time when acting was done from the heart!

I always admire seeing the Cartwright guys go into defense mode, especially for someone who was outnumbered. ❤💪
That's called Plot Armor lol
We need more families like the Cartwright's loved watching them growing up still do on RUclips

My dream be to work own ranch
Yes we do .And it starts with you. Each and every one of us needs to do what is right regardless of self
Fabulous story line and always a moral to the story. Take note Hollyweird!
Such wonderful acting and complex story lines !!!! Still works today as thought provoking

He really was
That makes sense. I definitely got Adam vibes watching Lil Joe in this episode.
@@kenbina Wait a minute, so Adam was supposed to jump from the hayloft? That really seems like a Joe move.
@@torridd You're right. That was quintessential Lil'Joe. If Adam had played the part, I imagine they may have shot it differently.

This is another great western show: ruclips.net/video/DeF-iyNabXw/видео.html🤠👍
This is the first time I have seen a Vito Scotti performance with him not using an Italian Accent! Great actor,no matter what the part!
Yes, I'm used to seeing him in the comedic Columbo roles.
I WOULD RATHER WATCH THESE EPISODES 10 TIMES AND WATCH ONE EPISODE OF YELLOWSTONE

Wow what a great episode, Michael Landon is so good looking 💗
I always thought Pernell Roberts was the most handsome one -- after him, "pa" was.
Unusual depth, rather than just 100% evil villain.
The guy was lucky, no bleeding at all when Joe took the bullet out. :)
Very cleaver acting 🎭
Timeless
My first time watching this episode. Really enjoying it.
Awesome to hear that! Thank you for tuning in! 🤠👌🍿🎬
Little Joe shows that he's not always as bright and wise as he wants to be.

So who was the actress?
@@AndrewVelonis Faith Domergue
Waiting for someone to say what a beautiful lady that was and really sexy.
Missed my lovely Adam in this episode but well done by little Joe n all the supporting cast
Joe did much better than Adam gave him more action, Adam only talked and arms folded and the occasional punch, but never like my Joe...
@@anacordoba5042Everything was better with Joe.
Those eyes of hers. I can see why she had success in Hollywood.

Did old west have plastic ponchos??the other 2 robbers had them on . Hmm good show nice ham and cheeze hanging in the home

But this is Bonanza, not Gunsmoke.

The guy that been shot in the shoulder, I don't know why, but maybe it's the way he talked and look that reminded me of Robin William.

Muito bom . O brigada!
My kisses never have that effect.
I'm okay I guess I just got back into town about a at the carwash there's some weird dude on a bike just keeps circling the place
In the fight scenes its been decided who will lie down and who will stay upright after punching.
Weird story, whacky characters, confused sense of justice...once in awhile a Bonanza quirk.
How is it weird or confused? Life isn't black and white. You sure you're just not that bright?
that was an invitation. The lady was lonely. I was an old guy before I could read women.
@12:19 At what point did Joe get his gun back? Now he's having it taken away...again?
I was hoping Joe wouldn't turn him in at the end,
How did he get a gun when little Joe took it away from him just before the bullet was removed???
Cartwrights were not racists
That tall white boy in that navy blue shirt he have real gun talk boy ok hm he is a serious man
stupid writing...a doctor's wife seduced by a criminal based on one kiss...please...when little joe, a good man that is gorgeous is available...
And why wasn’t the robber dispossessed of the gun at any number of stages. Could have easily been a 20 minute episode. 😂
Ladies love outlaws like babies love stray dogs.
At 23.35 what were the poles for running right by her place? Electricity or Telegraph?
And I’m sick of 2 minute, unrealistic fist fights.
