Your review sold me on these! Every clip-in bike shoe I have ever tried feels like they are trying to fold the front of my foot into a taco! And totally agree with you about the whole this is "gravel shoe" vs this is a "MTB shoe" just marketing stuff! Made me happy that you called it out :) Great review and mainly wanted to give you my gratitude! Cheers!
Good vid bro👍 I’ve been looking at getting these, but the current shoes I have are fairly new since I just started in march. They’re breaking in but I still get hot feet from time to time.
Right on! Definitely keep riding with what you already have. I had to switch because the Shimano XC9 began feeling to narrow in the toe box. I'll take comfort over anything when it comes to long days in the saddle.
@@LivingoceansSA Slightly but still stiff all around. It's one of my favorite shoes and that's mainly because the space in the toe box for my feet to properly splay.
Appreciate the video. Not too much out there on these. So specifically did you order the wide or is this review of their regular width? You keep mentioning about your wide feet but dont specifically state if yours are the wide or regular width. All I keep reading is how great Lake is for wide feet... im not wide at all so hoping to find real world reviews of their "normal" width and curious what specifically you reviewed.
Thanks for tuning in. I should have been more clear that these are the regular fit. However, they are still quite wide in the toe box compared to my XC9 wide Shimano shoes. So if I got the Lakes in a wide they would be too wide. I recommend measuring your feet using their fit guide. Hope this helps.

I've been riding those for 2 years now. Love them. Great shoe.
💯 Top shoe

I just got the MX238 XC on their outlet sale. Relly like them.
Nice!!! Enjoy them.
Hi, did you have to reduce your saddle height after setting up the shoe. Do you know if the shoe stack height is lower or higher?
No I didn't drop my saddle height. In terms of stack height I didn't notice any difference from my previous XC9's.
Hi, do you use specific insoles or just the ones that came with the shoes? Thanks
What came with shoes
Did you use an SPD cleat spacer to get the cleat 0.25-1mm below the tread or just the cleat by itself?
No clear spacer. I have it directly mounted by itself.
@@dwaynepedals thanks
Did you mount the cleat directly on the carbon ?
@@LivingoceansSA yeah I did
@dwaynepedals thanks. Has the shoe softened up more now that you have it for a while?

Are they ok cleaning when they get dirty ? And do they fit according to sizechart ?
These are totally easy to clean. I use dish soap and then a Mr. clean magic eraser to get them brand new again. Works every time. 🤘
