  • A woman who was swindled out of £20,000 by a fraudster she met on a dating app in 2020 wants more to be done to help victims of romance fraud. Suzanne Famula explains what happened and the moment she found out that she had been conned, she is now calling for a register for romance fraud.
Former Met Police Chief Superintendent Dal Babu believes that dating apps need to take 'additional responsibilities' when it comes to romance fraud.

How exactly is it the banks fault ! There needs to be more personal responsibility from these so-called victims of romance fraud - if you willingly send someone you have just met online £20,000 you have no one to blame but yourself.

He took advantage of her kind nature and emotional state. The real blame should be on the fraudster and the police should be involved to hold him accountable.
