I find most of these political chats overwhelmingly argumentative, egotist and repetitive. This chat was very engaging, not without ego but well managed and curiously reassuring that the main stream media can offer a thoughtful and contentious piece, while making it accessible to everyone. Thanks

Would love to have heard Andrews views on what would have happened to Blair if John Smith had not tragically died

Yeah maybe it would have been different but he did die from a surprise Heart attack. That is assuming that it is the politicians who implement the policies and not secret groups as stated in “The Plot: The Political Assassination of Boris Johnson” by Nadine Dorris.

Agreed the Diane has been treated awfully. I'm not politically aligned with her at all, but she is an important figure in British politics and deserves respect. I greatly miss the old This Week programme with her, Neil and Portillo.

The thing is this election is not about two leaders. It’s about labour vs Tory and labour will win. 2019 it was about getting Brexit done and 2017 it was corbyn vs may

Sunak and Starmer like Liz Truss are classic examples of the Peter principal.Someone who has been promoted way above their level of competence.

Starmer was appointed DPP so his ‘level of competence’ didnt seem to be in question then. Sunak is proven useless, with Starmer it’s just mud slinging in the hope it will stick
