  • Medspira is the fastest growing and leading vendor for Anorectal Manometry Equipment.
    Anorectal manometry is a diagnostic test which can provide an understanding of why the patient is suffering from Chronic Constipation (20% of the US population) or Fecal Incontinence. Medspira has created the mcompass to bring anorectal manometry to places where maybe in the past it had not been used potentially due to cost, time constraints, space constraints, etc. It was designed to be used by anyone in the office, anywhere in the office, as it is portable, wireless, software-guided, windows based, and very easy to use.
    Going beyond Anorectal Manometry, Medspira has worked with the US Government and the top eight US Universities to develop a Pelvic Floor Therapy for Incontinence, and a Therapy for Chronic Constipation, both based on Manometric Biofeedback. This completes our anorectal manometry suite.
    In this product training video, a physician assistant from the Center for Digestive Care/Gastro Florida walks the viewer through the six tests in our anorectal manometry software with a live patient: Resting, Squeeze, Expel Empty, Expel Full, Sensation, and Exhale. Prior to starting each test, you can see the physician explains the concept for that particular test both to the viewer and patient and continues to coach the patient during each test.

    Huge critique from a patient perspective: Even if the patient consents before the procedure, it is absolutely vital to ask BEFORE each step if they are ready and would like to proceed as well as explain what it may feel like in case there is an unforeseen complication, etc. Considering the fact a significant number of people with GI, colon and pelvic disorders have a childhood and/or chronic history of abuse -especially sexual abuse - consent, comfort and transparency needs to be prioritized as part of the proper way to do medical procedures. Reducing medical trauma is the most important first part of addressing all medical issues. It leads to better patient health outcomes. That starts with how providers are trained.

    Why d o you not give the patient dignity shorts so that the genital area is not displayed. It would be much less embarrassing and stressful for the patient. Medical people just don’t get how the patients feel or simply don’t care. Small things like putting yourself in the patients place would really count. Modern medicine has no excuse for not making these invasive procedures more tolerable for the patients

      @Katy020 2 года назад +5

      I get where you're coming from but that's why she covered her up with the sheet of paper and explicitly said it in the middle of the video. The problem with this type of test is that you have to insert the probe into the rectum which means the genital area has to be exposed because you can't find it immediatly otherwise and it's much more uncomfortable for the patient if you're awkwardly trying to find the entrance and having to reinsert it if you mess up if they're wearing shorts than doing it like this. It's just makes the procedure quicker and more efficient which patients usually appreciate.

    • @cheriportman4553
      @cheriportman4553 2 года назад

      My experience is the same. They consider this a NON-INVASIVE procedure. BS. Clearly they don't get what non-invasive means. To me, it means my body is NOT being penetrated. And they didn't show him having to shit out the balloon, so that is NOT a complete test.
