    personally I feel in 1.1 S.Chie does have a viable use she is somewhat like S.Naoto where you set up a plan to decimate the opponent difference it involves Chie to max charge and god's hand unblocked which could screw her over but you can do it in a combo with agneystra and keep them at a choke point to pull it off. I do hear people talk about her more than S.Teddie

    I have a question, is this game worth buying just for the singleplayer content? As weird as it sounds I don't usually play multiplayer mode on fighting games becuase I suck at them and I was wondering if this game has solid singleplayer content (and maybe with some training I might try online one day)

    • @logeshvidyavidz100
      @logeshvidyavidz100 2 года назад +6

      If you've beaten Persona 4 (and 3) then I would say so as the story mode is a direct sequel to both games and it's pretty long. The gameplay itself is also filled with fun flavor references from those games, and it's cool seeing Arcsys take those RPG elements and put them in a fighter.
      If you haven't played the RPGs though, then I don't think you would get much out of the single player imo

    • @ColdAssailant29
      @ColdAssailant29 2 года назад

      As someone who have played P3, P4 and both the Arena games, the single player content won't be worth it. The story is bland and boring (watered down visual novel style). The only high points of the story was Adachi's side and some events that happened with the P4 casts.

    • @wl4810

    Don’t shadows also have +200 hp and -20% damage dealt? I had heard that was part of what made S. Naoto so good is she basically ignored the damage penalty with her IK gameplan and got a good bit more survivability out of it too, or did 2.0 remove this?

    • @giannis_tar
      @giannis_tar 2 года назад +1

      They have +2000 not 200 and you are correct about the damage nerf. They reduced the extra HP to 1000/500 in 2.0 (depending on the character) but also lowered the damage nerf from -20% to -10%

    From my understanding everyone has a shadow form right? Are the other shadow characters just that bad compared to higher tiered ones? I just dont understand what the main reason of them not being used is. Are the non shadow forms of certain characters just that much better? Anything helps. Great vids as always LordKnight

    • @e.a.g6329
      @e.a.g6329 2 года назад

      Almost everyone. It depends on the character of they're better or not. Some aren't as practical the normal versions but some are kinda nuts like chie who uses frenzy and deals 70%plus. Its a big trade off for awakening tho

    • @Altra_duck
      @Altra_duck 2 года назад +1

      Not everyone has a shadow form. Elizabeth, Sho, Minazuki, Shadow Labrys (who is confusing since there is both a shadow mode for Labrys and a unique Shadow Labrys character) and all of the dlc characters (Margaret, Marie, Adachi) don't have shadow modes

    • @ApexGale
      @ApexGale 2 года назад +5

      Shadow characters trade defensive options and a good comeback tool for pure offense. They lose access to Burst (get out of jail card) and Awakening (free meter and innate buffs which auto trigger after reaching yellow life). In exchange they get Shadow Frenzy which gives them effectively endless meter for a few seconds. They also carry meter over between rounds.
      The thing is, unless the Shadow character can do some super cheesy shit with Shadow Frenzy that can either kill you off one hit or put you as close to death as possible, they aren't worth the tradeoff. They can't break out of combos, they don't get that comeback chance from Awakening. If you aren't able to Touch of Death, you give up way too much defensively to be viable. That's why characters like S. Naoto and S. Chie are good - they have gimmicks that revolve around killing you in Shadow Frenzy.
      A character with Awakening can very easily turn the tides against a Shadow character that has spent Shadow Frenzy.

    • @PunSenpai
      @PunSenpai 2 года назад +1

      Not everyone has a shadow form. Margaret, Elizabeth, Marie, Sho, Minazuki, Adachi, and Shadow Labrys do not. And the last one wasn't a mistake, as there are 3 versions of Labrys in the game. Labrys with Ariadne, the shadow version of Labrys called Shadow Labrys (who has Ariadne), and the other Shadow Labrys. The final one I mentioned is ironically not a shadow character mechanically (only lore-wise), but a regular character that uses Asterius (the giant bull) instead of Ariadne. Most shadow characters are weaker than their regular counterparts in 1.1 due to a lack of defensive burst and nothing especially worthwhile to compensate for it. Shadow Chie, Shadow Naoto, and Shadow Mitsuru are different because they have something worthwhile. That being unburstable, borderline ToD combos and set-ups. That doesn't mean other shadow characters aren't necessarily viable, though. Shadow Narukami is certainly quite good and fun to play, but it doesn't make sense to pick him over the regular version in a tournament, for example. Shadow characters basically have to be more careful until they get the opportunity to blow you up, because they can't reset momentum with a defensive burst if they make a mistake, and the opponent doesn't have to play around the Awakening mechanic because it's not available to them. Shadows also needed to conserve meter in 1.1, as 100 meter was necessary to activate shadow berserk (the only reason to play the character). This essentially meant that shadows were limited in what they could do compared to their regular counterparts. 2.0 changed shadows by giving them defensive bursts and letting them go into shadow berserk without 100 meter, though. They also made all shadow combos unburstable, which wasn't a thing before. This is another reason why Shadow Chie, Shadow Naoto, and Shadow Mitsuru were the most used in 1.1. Because, as I said before, their insane damage also just so happened to be unburstable by nature of how it functioned. But this wasn't the case for most shadow characters. Hopefully that cleared everything up for you.
      Edit: Didn't mean to repeat almost verbatim what some other people said. I responded before I refreshed the page to see other comments, so I didn't know.

      with delay, depending on where you live, it can be impossible to find decent connections in the hours that you play. bad connections make it so you can’t experience the gameplay and characters as they were intended. rollback is needed to broaden the range of acceptable connections. it’s not rocket science
