From what I've seen from Anderson, they just build so much that they can pass the savings on to you. I feel like they're more interested in putting solid rifles in peoples hands than squeezing every penny possible from sales. I've personally had good experiences with their products. Just my 2 cents
I've run Anderson for years... Firing tens of thousands of rounds through multiple different builds. Not once have I had a failure I can attribute to Anderson
Me neither, I have a .300 blk out pistol build on an Anderson upper and lower with a ballistic advantage barrel, and a 16" carbine Anderson upper and lower never had a problem out of either one.
I absolutely love my Anderson M4!!! Built it piece by piece over 3 years. Yeah I know it took a long time but when you’re poor what can you do? It ended up being about $650-$700 when finished. Anyway after I got the gun broke In I’ve never had a single malfunction or problem. It’s not the R85 treated model. It’s my first rifle and I couldn’t be more happier with her. It had just dropped on the ground. It probably got dirt in it & he didn't tap seat the rounds in the mag either. I truly believe it would've went another 5 mags (maybe more) had he just used the 45rd pmag w/the aluminum +5 extention instead of trying for an extra 8-10rd outta that drum that had just hit the dirt
@@carsonkouts i know that the slightest debris in those can cause feeding problems but im simply stating that the drop on the ground didn't help with seating the rounds or dirt in an already finicky mag. You are aware they've used that mag in several other meltdown videos & didn't have that problem, right?
@@RichardCranium321 Ya, but the problem wasn't a failure to feed or extract, it was a cook off. So most likely regardless of the magazine the round was going to pop. Dirt or not

Or for just about anyone that wants an AR. I just did a budget build video with a PSA lower and Bear Creak upper- under $500 and again, it would suffice for any “normal” AR shooter.

Given the circumstances and conditions. I feel very confident that my Anderson is good to go. I have had this gun for about 3 years and while it is not full auto, it serves the purpose and I can make it go as fast as my finger will allow. Not to mention that it is pretty accurate. 5 rounds in the same hole at 100yds. totally worth the money and would buy again.
They used to have problems with qc due to demand after the sandy hook shooting. So bad that even the lettering on the lowers was inconsistent. Fortunately not any more. Haven't had a single problem with mine
@@five5105 there's a prominent RUclips video where (I can't remember who) does a tour of Anderson factory & they mention how many companies they produce blank uppers & lowers for, but they could only name a couple due to NDA contracts. I'll see if I can find the video in question. It wasn't even 6 months ago I watched it w/my range partner.
The failure appeared to occur when the spent cartridge failed to eject (fully). This happened after a few shots were fired from the drum magazine. Was it the high spring tension of the drum that impeded the bolt, caused the failure to eject and also caused the next round to fail to achieve complete battery?
@@_SLAVEONE_ Misaligned, partially inserted shell into the chamber, you can see it just before it went off. if it didn't eject a spent case it would not strip a live round from the mag, just not enough room for a round to go into the chamber. Drum mag malfunction for sure. the helper dropped in in the dirt before the shooter placed it in the mag well. dirt/grass maybe. NOT the gun though.
@@daverodkey let's stop being ignorant about it. This isn't rocket science. The brass wasn't ejected completely, jamming the rifle as the bolt came forward chambering the next round. It's that simple. Regardless of the magazine or drum. That's what happened.
THE BLACK FLAG and a lot of that looked like Tula which has quality control issues which can be overcome with minor adjustments to the rifle but if not done the extractor can be broken because of an off sized rim which has for me anyway led to a failure to extract but the round fired otherwise there would have been no gas for extraction so then a cook off wouldn’t be possible
I’m sure you reviewed the footage and saw how a spent case got caught and stovepiped. So maybe extraction got slowed down real bad at the end. Who knows???? But you should put it back together, and let er rip tater chip
With my Anderson upper that I bought, the extractor spring was cut one loop too short. After I replaced that spring, 💯. That RF85 just on the BCG has ran flawless with no sign of stopping.
The failed stove pipe ejection caused the other round not to chamber all the way, and then the heat caused it to detonate while not all the way chambered(ie cook off while out of battery). Edit: the stove pipe could've been caused by many factors, they just happen sometimes. I'm guessing it was from the high cyclic rate of the bcg, maybe a mix of bad ejector spring tension from the heat.
Every time I hear the phrase, “it’s a gamer charger”, I think of the TV show, 07 in Louisiana; busted for porking his daughter. There really aren’t going to be too many major technological advances to the AR family of weapons. Regards, Marky
I feel like these meltdown tests could easily end up in a squib load and following explosion of the barrel. It's a good thing the personal protection has been taken care of 👌
I'd like to see a 300 blackout or even a 6.8 spc meltdown. I believe that would yield interesting results to the barrel and gas system vs standard 5.56. As always, thanks for your hard work Eric and Chad!
That is one hell of a nice Upper. When it comes to monolithic Uppers, the names that would usually come to my mind are Daniel Defense or Vickers Tactical. It's nice to see that they now have some pretty strong competition. I know it seems like a small detail, but how the muzzle-end of the hand-guard angles in is a brilliant design choice. It gives you the meat you need on the bottom while still not using any more material than they have to on the top.
Bear creek arsenal burn down lol. Might have to re torque everything when you get it but I’d be interested in seeing a sub $300 upper go through this. Old video but still great
I would agree with you, under certain conditions. Here in the states due to ease of being able to get the rifle, how easy it is to find ammunition for it, the ease of use of the rifle, the near limitless amount of ways to customize the rifle, and finally, the fact that there is a wide variety of ammunition available for it makes it one of the best rifles. However, were I in Russia for a long period of time, say 2-4 years or more, I would buy an AK-47, or an AK-74, for most of the same reasons as I listed for the AR platform. The AK is better in the fact that you can physically beat the hell out of it, cover it in mud, drop it into a lake, pour sand down the barrel and it will still fire without any major issues. You can lean it up against a tree in the middle of the jungle, and as long as nobody takes it, come back to it a number of years later and it'll more than likely still work just fine. You can take parts out of it and will still work, according to what I have heard. Overall, there is no perfect gun. They all have good points and bad points. Case in point, I love the Barrett M-82A1 Light 50. It's a .50 Cal anti material rifle. It's the next long arm I'm going to buy. But I'd trade it out in a heartbeat if I had to clear a building. An AR or AK would be better for that task, and ideally I would use a shotgun.
Jeff Liggett that's what I was thinking. Not to mention, for that price or less you can get a PSA premium upper with the CHF FN barrel. When I think of current budget uppers I think $250 or less.
I think they need to do that next. Buy the cheapest Rifle Kit they can buy from PSA (Or just the cheapest complete upper with BCM), slap it onto the test rig lower and rock and roll.
During the beginning of the shooting I thought about there being a cook-off in the chamber or the bolt getting stuck due to excessive heat. There were fireballs coming out from the ejection port right off the hop which I've never noticed before on previous meltdowns. Just glad to see that you didn't get injuries when that thing went off Eric.

@@collinhenderson8646 all the BCA uppers I have come across look prettu solid. I would put them toe to toe with PSA and other entry level models
@@collinhenderson8646 I have a 458 Socom BCA upper and I like it. I had a chance to run it full auto but only had 25 rounds.
@@curtishoward8692 i just bought a 10.5" 300 blackout upper from BCA. havent run any rounds through it yet but it looks solid
When the video is only 12mins, you know it's not gonna last long :p Love these meltdowns \m/
Thanks a lot, for us in France we have not a feedback like this on Anderson stufff, thanks a lot guys !!!
Anderson makes some really good stuff. I've used Anderson products for years and I have every intention of continuing to do so.
Anderson might have an entry level price, but they perform like an expensive brand.
Anderson is totally good to go.
Never had an issue with any of their stuff.
Oh yeah, meltdown time again! Sending love from the UK to you noise making heros! 😊

The platform was made to a mass produced basic weapon. I love the guy who spends thousands on it then can't hit the target while I'm out here with a $500 tack driver. Names mean shit in the real world.
Well Quality Control is a big factor 😅so yeah it means a lot actually reputation wise
The issue with Anderson is its wildly inconsistent QC.
I’d love to see you test a Sons Of Liberty Gun Works
Me also it would be interesting.
Stefano Dawg classic poor.
@Stefano Dawg and ive had nothing but problems with customer guns, everything can fail
@Stefano Dawg That has been my experience as well. Stopped buying other brand receivers years ago.
They used to have problems with qc due to demand after the sandy hook shooting. So bad that even the lettering on the lowers was inconsistent. Fortunately not any more. Haven't had a single problem with mine
Amazing how cool the lower receiver stays.
My Anderson is my go=to weapon. It shoots and feels great.
Anderson makes blank uppers/lowers for several different ppl who just slap a brand logo on & mark up 50%
Who specifically?
@@five5105 there's a prominent RUclips video where (I can't remember who) does a tour of Anderson factory & they mention how many companies they produce blank uppers & lowers for, but they could only name a couple due to NDA contracts. I'll see if I can find the video in question. It wasn't even 6 months ago I watched it w/my range partner.
@@RichardCranium321 you ever find the video
@@five5105 linked 2 vids to validate my claim if u have time to watch
@C there's another one from someone else that's much longer & 3-4 yrs older, but this is better quality video imo
I've personally never found any quality issues with Anderson's lower receivers, and they are every bit as good as other brands I have.
Good times 🇺🇸
I wanna see a
Knights Armament
meltdown
Ha, I run Anderson on two of my ARs, only rifles I've NEVER had an issue with.
I’m so happy with my Anderson!
The failure appeared to occur when the spent cartridge failed to eject (fully). This happened after a few shots were fired from the drum magazine. Was it the high spring tension of the drum that impeded the bolt, caused the failure to eject and also caused the next round to fail to achieve complete battery?
Was thinking the same. She mite kept going.
Can y'all test what happens to armor and or ballistic shields during these melt down videos?
It didn't eject the spent case. That's why the round cooked off.
You get a stove pipe with a hot barrel of course a round will cook off. I’m blaming the drum mag, ran fine before it.
Yeah, ipso facto... The spent case stopping the bolt, leaving the round in the chamber to cook off.
I’m guessing you watch cletus McFarland
With my Anderson upper that I bought, the extractor spring was cut one loop too short. After I replaced that spring, 💯. That RF85 just on the BCG has ran flawless with no sign of stopping.
Hell yeah brother! Let then bald eagles fly!!!
Yes sir, put it back together and *SEND IT!*
5:38 “cmon little girl let’s go!” 💀
I'd love to see someone do a meltdown of the RF85 treated "no lube" Anderson!
Thank you
Should of put an optic on it to help "dissipate the heat"
I thoguht the exact same thing. I was super suprised on how hot the triji got on the pof

It would have been interesting if this was the RF-85 treated rifle they say is game-changing
It really isnt
Every time I hear the phrase, “it’s a gamer charger”, I think of the TV show, 07 in Louisiana; busted for porking his daughter.
There really aren’t going to be too many major technological advances to the AR family of weapons.

Wow what a good run, I love my Anderson.
King of gun channels. Melt downs are a true classic.
I feel like these meltdown tests could easily end up in a squib load and following explosion of the barrel. It's a good thing the personal protection has been taken care of 👌
Damn dude. I'll dump 10rds and then let my gun cool off because I want it to last forever lol. Your killing it.
PSA next, one with a better handguard this time, that allows the heat to dissipate better.
Anderson AR's are 100% good to go. For these kind of tests you should install an Inconel gas tube.
I'd like to see a 300 blackout or even a 6.8 spc meltdown. I believe that would yield interesting results to the barrel and gas system vs standard 5.56. As always, thanks for your hard work Eric and Chad!
SKS full auto conversion meltdown please.
Only if it's a classic firearms SKS in poor condition
Hell yeah! 😀
Now that would be interesting!
If it wasn't a rare bird these days, I'd suggest the SKS-M or SKS-D that Norinco made that accepts standard AK47 magazines.
@@HustleMuscleGhias You can put an AK mag conversion on any SKS right?
That is one hell of a nice Upper. When it comes to monolithic Uppers, the names that would usually come to my mind are Daniel Defense or Vickers Tactical. It's nice to see that they now have some pretty strong competition. I know it seems like a small detail, but how the muzzle-end of the hand-guard angles in is a brilliant design choice. It gives you the meat you need on the bottom while still not using any more material than they have to on the top.
Bear creek arsenal burn down lol. Might have to re torque everything when you get it but I’d be interested in seeing a sub $300 upper go through this. Old video but still great
Anderson is right here in my home state of Kentucky and people love working there.
Hello everyone, I am from Russia, but I think that the AR-15 is the best rifle. Thank you for the video
I love these videos!
Eric, can we please get a new gas tube in the PSA upper and a new meltdown?
I thought it was a CNN Anderson meltdown lol
LMAO 😂😂😂😂😂Brilliant 👍👍👍👍
Bitch fit... . 🤦♂️😜
That’s nothing compared to the Don Lemon meltdown (occurs daily).
That would be a hissy fit.
Stephen Forster lmao
we need to restart this series
Looks like the so-called “Poverty Pony” made it around the race track better than the bookies expected 🐴🐴🐴🐴🤔🤔🤔🤔
"entry level" "500 bucks" You can get an entire rifle from PSA for less than that!
Jeff Liggett that's what I was thinking. Not to mention, for that price or less you can get a PSA premium upper with the CHF FN barrel. When I think of current budget uppers I think $250 or less.
You can get a fantastic upper from either Aero or BCM for that much.
I think BCM uppers are still in the $700+ range but that's not really much more for a VERY well proven top notch upper with a great CHF barrel.
I think they need to do that next. Buy the cheapest Rifle Kit they can buy from PSA (Or just the cheapest complete upper with BCM), slap it onto the test rig lower and rock and roll.
Spec Ops Mfg too man
I'm actually impressed!
I wanna see a 5 shot group before and after it starts glowing like that lol
During the beginning of the shooting I thought about there being a cook-off in the chamber or the bolt getting stuck due to excessive heat. There were fireballs coming out from the ejection port right off the hop which I've never noticed before on previous meltdowns.
Just glad to see that you didn't get injuries when that thing went off Eric.
Used a mix of Anderson and PSA parts in my AR-15 budget build. Very happy with Anderson quality.
Would like to see a diamondback db15 m4 be on one of these! That was my first AR purchase about a month ago
Same. I'm taking mine out for her first time this weekend
I subscribed more than 5 years ago and RUclips for some reason unsubbed me. Great video Eric! I miss Barry...
Same thing I thought it was wierd as hell I wasn't still subbed
If you do any more of these, would like to see a before and after accuracy test
most of the time it's the gas tube that goes, so i guess they could replace that and run a test.
Did y'all note the flare of burning gas yt the ejection port with each shot?
I bought myself Anderson AR15 completed upper after I watched this video. :)
