They helped so much that I, as a total rookie, with just a bit of range practice could go a round of golf and make par on 2 holes. I have since then never replicated that but still. 😅✌🏻
@@noname-md6pw Last round I played, made it to the 9th hole on the same ball. I was 104 yards out from the pin. Been hitting my 56 great all day, but I wanted to use my 50 instead and try to hit the green, and go for a birdie, rather than clearing the 15 yards of water in front of me with my 56 and going for par. So I pulled my gap wedge, took a couple of practice swings, then topped the ball right into the water. Really fell apart after that and finished with a 125, I was on track to break 100 until that damned pond.
@The Indoor Outdoorsman oof man. I've topped the ball into water plenty of times. The course I play at has like 12 holes with water and it's not florida but it's not a great course anyway. I'm starting to get a lot better with my swing tho.
@The Indoor Outdoorsman When I hit that sand wedge shot I told you about, I missed clearing the pond by about 5 feet. 54 was barely not enough. Just needed a bit harder of a hit. Lots of cases where I just need to hit the ball harder.
Well...he is making me realize how much I have wrong with my swing, in one video!!! If you ever want to know how bad your swing is, then set up a tripod and shoot a high speed of a swing from straight ahead of you (camera facing you perpendicular to your shot direction) and compare it to Rick's same view. You'll regret it immediately!!! His swing is near perfect, while we look we are trying to push a rope uphill!
Hi Rick can you please help when I swing back I can feel my left hand lose the grip so with the follow through I end up hitting the ball with face open causing a huge slice. This even happens with the glove on. I though it was the grips on my clubs but they in good condition and I even experience experience this with a rental.
I started golfing in fall of 2021. I'm to the point now where I can par to +2 every whole at my local course. Much of what I've learned is because of Rick's videos. Alot of these other no names making instructional videos make them long and drawn out filled with nothing or very little useful info. Then there's Rick, an actual somebody with experience. Humble, modest, to the point, with loads of useful information, and techniques. I very much admire and appreciate that.
Hi Rick, Greetings from Dublin Ireland young man, as a complete novice I want to thank you sincerely for all your efforts with your golfing advice it’s been a tremendous help.
Rick, I've been watching your videos for about a month now, about as long as I've been golfing. Your tips have transformed my whole game. I went from shooting in the 110's to shooting mid 90s in a month. My irons used to be terrible and are now the best part of my game. I absolutely appreciate your videos and you make it simple to implement these mechanics.
Hey I just got into golfing. I've watched the basics and it's already helped me play my first 18 holes! TY so much, you're the man. Mad love from Detroit!
Most helpful golf video I've seen compared to others. Others seems to have a lot of explanations and swing dissections that it tends to confuse the viewer in the end so not as helpful. The direct approach such as this is the best approach.
I am so glad you explain how it should "feel". I've had so many lessons and been told how to but never told what it should feel like. when I get out on the course I have loads to think about behind the ball and often forget the basics. Thanks
Rick! I can’t stop watching your videos! I decided to start playing golf in March (2020) and haven’t stopped since, I am close to breaking 90!! Because of you, I’ve also decided to start my own golf page on Instagram! Thank you for sharing all your tips, I’m learning so much and hopefully I get to meet you someday in the near future! Have a good day bro!
What a brilliant video. Straight to the point, easy to follow and no waffling on. The only youtube golf video i've watch without skipping any content. Fantastic presenting skills Rick you make things easy to watch and understand.
Thanks, Rick. I personally discovered your channel a few weeks ago (one of the old golfbidder challenges with Pete...you two have a very entertaining dynamic). Anyway, I have been pouring over your archives and have found your instruction clear and easy to follow. Your videos make me want to play more golf!
I’ve been golfing for a almost a year now and I’ve learned absolutely everything I know about golf from Rick! Doing what he says in his videos on the course has taking me from my first game ever of 120 and a year later I constantly hit in the low 90s! Not the best I know but it means the world to me! My friends even get tired of hearing “well Rick says to” lol thanks for all the content and great instructions
I've played on and off for years and its frightening how some of the lessons I've had haven't covered these basics in such a way as to get a clear understanding. keep them coming, Rick - great to watch
They just want your money pal, I’ve had 10+ lessons, play off 5, I only watch RS now, I learn more from listening to him than being in person with so called pro golfers that give lessons.
These videos are simply great. I have had lessons from great teachers over the years but I took a few years off and forgot "most" of the details I learned. Rick has reminded me of the important details and made it fun at the same time. I have definitely made faster progress, with less frustration by reviewing Rick's video and then practicing the advice on the range. I have tried to have a practice after each video watched while the information is fresh. Really appreciate the down to earth attitude and fun personality Rich has in the videos.. (BTW "farther" instead of "further" when discussing distance.. hitting the ball "far"ther.. )
Hi Rick. Fantastic videos you provide us, amateurs, to improve our game. Any chance you can do a video on bunker play, soft sand, hard sand, technique and so on? Gratelly appreciated. Cheers
Your video with the choking up on the wedge and standing closer has changed my game. Shot in 70s twice in a row after using that technique. Thanks for the tips and tricks.
Been only playing Golf for 2 months and have been following rick ever since the beginning of my journey and I must say that this is the most entertaining yet educational channel that is very appealing even for new audiences to really start to get into the game and learn!
Rick, this video has changed my game for the better! My shots are so much straighter. I’ve gained 30-40 yards on my drives & 15-30 yards with my other clubs. Thank you for such clear & detailed instruction! I watch this video before every game.
Rick is definitely the best golf coach on the planet! I'd love to go on a 1 month tour with Rick playing courses around the world while being taught by the best coach in the world!
Wow Rick. Thanks for this. I watched your other vid comparing Callaway GBB 2015 to GBB warbird, upgraded my driver, followed the easy to follow tips in this vid and am now hitting 230-240yds straight down the fairway with over 90% accuracy. Its improved my game so much i not only broke 100, I scored 93 for the first time ever. All thanks to your great videos. Thanks so much
So well Explained Rick......Cant wait to get to the range. I have the range and ability and hit the shots crip but have no distance and will try these tips to help.
I need to thank you Rick! I have been playing golf for about 6 years now! But before this summer I didn’t take it seriously! I started watching you last fall and now I’m addicted. You are the most relatable instructor on the internet. I have used your methods to improve my game over the last year from never practicing and then complaining about my scores to now practicing regularly and dropping my score from 100 down to 88. I will be in the low 80's soon thanks to you
Rick you rock man! Since watching your videos I’ve shaved so many strokes off my game. I went from shooting 100+ consistently. To hitting upper 80’s in just 3 weeks... I’ve always had a decent swing. But your tips made me that much more consistent! Thanks again!
Rick, you and pete got me back in to golfing after 17 years. Your tips have helped me at 20 yards to my carry, and bring my fade in to a more useable shape.
I can’t thank you enough for this video and many others that you have posted. I only just started playing golf in the last couple of months and I find your videos the most helpful. Thanks again.
These are all awesome tips! I see most of my students who struggle to break 90 doing at least 2 of these things! Width in the backswing and staying centered are the 2 biggest things I work on with them!
The shoulder turn is such a great tip! This season, I have slowly (and not intentionally!!) flattened my shoulders in the backswing and other than the odd round, played progressively worse! This is such a simple watch out thanks AGAIN Rick! 😂👍🏻
All spot on for most amateurs. Getting that right shoulder under on the downswing to replace the left on the backswing is a must for me. Great tips Rick.
Great info. I had never considered my shoulder angle when swinging an iron. Just tried it in my living room and immediately felt a difference. Excited to try this out on the range.
Hi, watched this video when it was released. It was interesting as it described an issue that I was experiencing, in particular 'swaying'. I currently play of 6 and have had a reasonably major spinal surgery. I was putting my poor form of late down to this. This morning, before playing a round I decided to hitting a few balls on the range and videoing it to see what I was doing. Well, to cut a long story short I was swaying a lot and over swinging. I decided to take your advice and concentrated on trying to keep my body central, slow my swing (to stop the over swing) This helped a great deal insomuch as it was the first time that I actually played to my handicap and felt like a single figure handicapper. Thank you for this well needed rethink of my swing.
Took my 25 y.o. son to the range and then a short nine for the first time. This helped a ton as you demonstrated everything he was doing wrong. Thanks!
Can't thank you enough Rick🙌. Been really struggling to hit anything these last couple of weeks. Gone from barely breaking 100 to my course best of 85 (22hdc)just by following these simple tips. Keep up the great work 👍👍
LIKE this video if my coaching videos have helped you.
