Pan I know it’s a pain in the arse but all the Amazon links say products unavailable it’s worth fixing as I was going to buy the snow foam
hi Pan, can i measure the ph of the foam from my local manual washpark with a ph test stripe after i sprayed the foam onto my car or can it be only measured in the concentrate form from the bottle?
Try Magic Stick from Greece and thank me later
Great video Pan. Two things to consider. We’ve been playing with foam cannons and cleaners for about 20 years. I’ve found two things to work better when using foams. Don’t let it soak that long. We foam, reinstall the tip in the pressure washer lance and rinse right away. Usually the foam is on the car for 1-2 minutes tops. Always rinse from the bottom up. These foams are designed to suspend the dirt and use the high pressure rinse to lift the dirt from the surface. Rinsing normally from the top down will rinse the cleaner away before the high pressure rinse can do it’s job. We consistently get better results doing these two things. I know you’re following manufactures recommendations, but I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.
That sounds good but what about using a mit and the two bucket method after you've applied the foam?
I've indeed found that rinsing from bottom up gives better results
@@donmckinney4091 I’d probably ask you why you’re using a TOUCHLESS foam if you were going to wash the car traditionally anyway. Did you not catch the title of the video, or even watch it lol?
@@axe2grind244 -Sure did but when I go out of town to see my family especially in the winter months I go to a local touchless car wash for my truck. But when I'm in my home state I hand wash it. See how easy that was Einstein? But I'm sure you had a rough time grasping that right?
@@donmckinney4091 you wrote you want to apply a mit after you sprayed the touchless foam on it. that indeed doesnt make sense.
Excellent video Pan! IMO touchless washes are great for getting a 75 - 85% clean. Important to only blow dry when doing touchless washes since there are still some remaining contaminants on the surface
You make an excellent point with the PIR. On those vehicles with heavy mud and road grime, the higher PIR will do the better cleaning. For maintenance washes, the lower PIR (around 1) will do the cleaning with minimal wear and tear on the protection. As a rule, I apply protection in the form of a sealant or sealant and wax on any vehicle that isn't on a maintenance schedule. This gives the customer the benefit of high gloss and solid protection for as long as possible. Thank you for the excellent video! I have to admit, I would not consider a touchless wash on any vehicle as my obsession with cleanliness won't allow it - I have to do a contact wash as well :)
Pan is the staple for testing the limits of these things we do just about every time we detail. Probably one of the best I know in the business. Well done sir
Thanks Brandon!
Thanks for confirming what I suspected, great to see it backed up with tangible evidence, and that’s how you’ve built your reputation.
I’m lazy and been missing the contact wash in my regime, definitely makes me rethink my strategy.
Thanks for the kind words. It’s nice to see that my efforts to make thorough tests is appreciated by you guys in my audience.
While going through my last winter wash at a local gas station, I thought about an idea for an episode(s) for your channel. During the winter months most of us living in sub freezing temperatures have no option but to use drive-through car washes. If you can come up with way to compare the different car washes in terms of the quality of the products use, the cleanliness of the water ( recycled water ?), effectiveness of the pressure cleaning / drying etc
exact Same concern here! cannot find any info about these auto Car wash machine
@@z-prodidsanziiprod6090 YES! Absolutely do not take your vehicle through an automatic car wash because it IS very bad for your vehicle's paint finish!
Another good informative video. The touchless products have their usefulness, but there is no substitute for a good contact wash. Nice that you and Andy were helping each other out while educating your viewers.
keep up the good work.
Thanks Daniel!
Thanks Pan. Great video, your expertise are greatly appreciated.
Thanks Daren!
Was very curious about this and was glad to see that you made a video for it. Super knowledgeable as always, thanks Pan!!
Thanks Anna!
I just washed my car in a similar touchless way. If your car is coated and you only have about a week or two of dirt on it, I’d say you can get your car 90% clean (except in the winter months)

Good to see Andy again back on the channel! This video really proves the point that a contact wash is always needed to remove the small ammount of dirt left behind by the pre treat/pre wash stage👌🏻. Great work Pan!
Thanks Konsta!
@@PanTheOrganizer 👍🏻❤️
Yes, contact is needed. However it is always best to get as much of the dirt off first before pushing the dirt into the car finish.

hey pan, entertaining and informative as always. i just read this morning it’s not advised to used iron fallout remover weekly. is this paintwork only or should i not be using these red/purple sprays on my wheels during my weekly wash?! thanks!
Great in depth video like usual! Thank you 😊
Thanks!
I think a contactless wash is best used for maintenance washes. This car was pretty dirty, to begin with. You're the man Pan
😁👍🏻
Excellent video Pan on touchless wash. Never knew about Bilt Hamber touchless.
Thanks Danny!
Andy’s smart when his car gets dirty he brings it to Pan!😂😂😂
😂👍🏻
Great info. Thanks for the video. I've never been a believer in contact less washes.

Hello from Chicago! You and I met a few weeks ago at The Bays Romeoville, Illinois location and talked a little bit about my experience with Jescar UltraLock (ceramic). The first time I washed the car was after applying UltraLock was after Chicago Streets and Sanitation workers applied more salt and sodium chloride to the roads than measurable snow. Needless to say, my Subaru Outback was coated with salt a sodium, and crud. When it came time to wash, I applied a ph neutral car shampoo for the UltraLock’s first wash, I was amazed as all the salt, sodium and road grime simply slipped off the car and onto the alley during the rinse. For a moment, I thought I discovered a car detailers nirvana! However, the second wash left grime and the third wash left grime. You’re right-touch less car wash is a myth! Thanks for the video!
PAAAN! The organiser is back, my wife will be pleased, good to have the full intro back I must play it to her lol.
😁👍🏻
Perfect timing for the video! Merci à toi 😉
Thanks!
Thanks for the content Pan.
You bet! Thanks for watching!
Great Video Pan!!! Andy is Lucky to have a Great Brother to wash his vehicle.
Thanks Shawn!
I would love to see a comparison with this foam versus a rinse less. Those companies feel like their product precleans very well
I do this method all the time. But I add 1 minute worth of scrubbing with the wheel brush on the wheels/tires. Just a quick agitation takes almost no time before you apply the snow foam.
I have been getting really deep into washing my personal vehicle. While you talk about all these brands i usually like to stick to a single brand and that brand is Adams Polishes. (Good discounts every month) but watching your videos have me understand the importance of the products being used and its really helpful!

@Pan The Organizer I started watching car detailing videos a few years ago, but it was not until recently when I decided to make the change of trying it out myself. I am watching review videos on products to see what to expect to compare my results with the brand I usually use to what I see in the videos. Your videos came up a lot when looking at product reviews and wow! You bring a lot of knowledge to the table, and it really helps a beginner like me learn!
Very informative video Pan 👊🏼
Thanks D!
Excellent video Pan and hello Andy! Pan has done his research on touchless products and thank you for sharing your knowledge. Looks like we are going to have to do a contact wash unless you just want to use a lot of product and water and time repeating the touchless cycle. I hope you and your family are doing well!
Thanks Neil. We’re doing well and I hope you are too!
Hi Pan, thanks for the vid! Have you also seen the Dutch company dedicated especially to touch less washing, very interesting and cool to see!
Another great video PAN.

Yes ! I have been wanting you to do something like this. I do this all the time. I follow up with a rinseless wash. Then while the surface is still wet I clay mitt as needed with properly deluted rinseless as clay lube.then just drying add with protection and done.
👍🏻
Thanks, again, Pan! Learned a new trick. I have not been doing the vanity mirrors...but no more! 😂
You are so welcome! My latest video highlights areas commonly missed by people when detailing their car. Here’s the video: ruclips.net/video/ugUL-ckPI7U/видео.html
I used both Bilt-Hamber Touchless and TWHS Hyper Foam today infact. In my case I actually ran it through a touch-free wash earlier and then, once I saw foliage and pollen on the car, I did the same thing you did on your bros car. Now my car wasn't dirty like his but it works for me to do a "pollen maintence wash" when it's HEAVY❗️
The TWHS Hyper Foam I actually used 3 brushes because I like CLEAN wheels but I only use this every so often, Brake Buster is my maintence go to wheel cleaner👌
Nice meeting you 2 weeks ago at CSW, hope you enjoyed the tacos, you needed a break, even the Rupes guy agreed☺️
Hahaha they were cold by the time I got to them, after the event was over. But it was worth it just to meet my viewers in person. 😁👍🏻
Great video as usual! Thanx for sharing. Is this method and products also applicable for cars which has PPF installed?

Pan is the brother for all of us! Lol
Pan is happy to have a presentation vehicle so close !
It’s tough having to compete with a very handsome brother.

since pans cars are pristine, it’s nice to see how the products work on a non-detailers car
Same process on a modern car wash tunnel, high Ph foam, then contact with foam fingers. Just proves the contact method is still needed to remove the road grime that has built up.
great video, I think you are the only one that recommends doing a contact wash after the prewash, it makes sense, thanks.
Thanks! There’s no such thing as a 100% contactless car wash. All major detailing channels agree on that topic.

I use the Gyeon Foam Q2M for this and it works amazing. Let it sit 2 minutes and spray off. It's so good I may even replace my Brake Buster in my IK foam sprayer with the Q2M foam because it takes almost all brake dust off the wheel without touching it.
Great video. Always nice to see a fellow Canuck making good content. This should raise everyones detailing skills up another level.
Thanks Craig! :)
Welcome back, Andy! Your vehicle will ALWAYS be glossy and protected by Your fantastic brother and His skills.
My take on this video, it's good for a "pre-soak" prior to a contact wash or if there's a ton of grit on the finish during fall/winter/spring(POLLEN!!!). I would have to do a contact wash after this as My OCD would make Me nuts.
Regarding pollen(it's bad here) would You constantly use a rinseless/contact wash? Vs blowing it off with a leaf blower? I know pollen is abrasive, which is why I'm asking if the safest/best method is to use a foam/rinseless/contact wash?
Thank You, and Thanks for bringing Andy back. 😎
Good method Jay
For a proper touchless wash, a 2 chemical system works great for myself. I am using Chem-X’s Stars & Stripes with great results. It is also helpful to have a high GPM machine for this. I am using a 4.5 GPM machine.
I use Chem X Stars and Stripes and what I found is if I use it as a maintenance wash every week or 2 and the car did not see rain it works GREAT. Once I get outside of that 2 week window or if it rains and I don’t wash the car right away it doesn’t work very well and will require a contact wash.
My car was just as dirty yesterday, I used surfex in the cannon first then touchless, followed by hand wash, turned out perfect.
Nice video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
I did the brushless automated car wash on my brand new Dodge truck from the very start. Car wash was close so I would drive it immediately home and park under the carport. I then had 25 or so microfiber rags pre wrung out. I would then, with a one-way motion, wipe the dirt away folding and turning the rag often. I also had a dry microfiber rag to wipe it all dry behind me. It worked great and for over 10 years I never had any micro scratches that I could see at all. It was a dark metallic paint. I was living in the eastern desert of Washington state at the time.
Is the turtle wax hyper foam safe if it gets on matte rims..Have a matte rim cleaner but i only use soap and water on tires because scared tire cleaner maybe to harsh for rims
Pan, thanks for the video. Are those higher ph snow foams safe to use on coated cars?
Only if used every week at 5% PIR. That's a bit too strong for continuous use. If used once in a while, every other month to remove grime and traffic film, no problem for true coatings (glass bottle types) as those can typically resist higher pH chemicals. But if you want to use it weekly, just use it at 2% PIR and that's fine.
hey pan long time fan here, i have a question, i cant wash my car at home but i do at self car wash, so i use my own bucket washmit and products but would you use the snowfoam from the carwash or is it to agressive and its to big risc of damaging ceramic coating and its better to use pump foamer?
greetings from Belgium
Hi! Just wanted advice. I'm very sensitive with swirl marks and scratches. I used to wash my car in the garage myself. But I moved to an apartment with no water supply and hose in the garage giving me only tunnel car wash as an option to clean my car. I know improper ones can scratch, but if I always have a proper layer of wax, will that guarantee that my car won't get swirl marks in the long run? I dry my car properly with microfiber so its just the automatic car wash I'm worried about. Thanks!
My workhorse 2015 Lincoln MKS gets a full automatic contact wash hundreds of times per year. My wash package allows me unlimited passes. And some winter days, I may go through 3 times. But I keep it, clay bar'd, polished and waxed. It's got over 370k miles and while the finish is not showroom new, it still shines like crazy when clean...no touchless washes here...
I use LA’s Totally Awesome for my wheels and tires. Works great and it’s only a $1. I do use a brush.
Andy back in the House! Hi Andy. Must be nice to have Pan helping with your car.
👍🏻
I wonder what the results might have been if the vehicle had been pre-rinsed with the pressure washer, allowed to dry, THEN used the high pH snow foam. The foam had a pretty thick layer of dirt and grime to penetrate to get to the paint.
As long as the dirt level on the car is very minimal yes you could try that. If there’s a good amount of dirt/road grime on the car don’t rinse the car first. Cause that will cause scratching with all the excessive dirt. A pre treat foam would be best first. Unless of course you don’t mind rinsing that dirty of a car.
At that point just wash the car manually.
I’m suggesting this as a test to see just how effective the foam would be, not as a recommended procedure.
Technically, pressure washing while it's dirty is still not a form of touchless. You are using high pressure to blast dirt down and in and across the surface.
@@The1Music2MyEars Technically, no.
I love that snow foam. Great information. I
😮
👍🏻
Bilt Hamber Touch-Less foam works best when used as a system with Bilt Hamber Touch-On ceramic paint protection, after the initial wash and easy application, your car stays cleaner for longer and subsequent washes just require a blast with the Touch-Less foam until a reapplication of Touch-On is required depending on the time of year. I have had comments about how my car always looks clean despite not washing it that regularly.
Pan I noticed the same thing about the Turtle Wax Wheel & Tire, you use a LOT of product. Also the foaming sprayer does tire out your hands very quickly. The product itself does work very well, especially with a tire brush
Yes it's very good but you do end up using a lot.
great tips thank u
Thanks!
I usually use 2-3 % PIR, as 5% isn't really needed unless it's been dirty for a couple of months. I wonder what a citrus cleaner would do behind what you've done already? Acid and alkaline together would actually make a pretty decent cleaner once every 6 months or so. Also Pan, you need to try Bilt Hamber Touch-on shampoo in the 30ml sachets with Touch-less snowfoam, it's a good combination 👌
You can probably mix your own touchless cleaner by using autoshampoo/snow foam plus a regular alkaline cleaner (like KC Greenstar). According to my understanding you only need the consistency of the snowfoam to make the alkaline cleaner stay on the surface for longer. Snowfoam plus alkaline cleaner will give you just that.
I wonder if that will work great on a semi truck, always wonder what soap they use at the truck washes.
Shine supply holeshot is my favorite pre foam
Best channel on YT !
But, I do hope You didn't allow him to leave without doing a proper wash on it 😋 The Pan-way 😎
Thanks!! 👍🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻
Pan, what am I doing wrong? I tried to do a touchless wash and that didnt work, so I decided to wash my truck in the safest way possible since its band new and I dont want to scratch the clearcoat. I went out and I bought a dozen of Microfiber Chenille Mitts to wash my brand new black truck with my foam cannon. I foamed the entire truck and I let the soap dwell for a little bit and then I used a clean wash mitt for a small section. As soon as I was done I tossed the dirty mitt in a bucket and I used a clean unused mitt on the next section. When I air dried the truck I noticed some small swirl marks on the paint. I dont understand how this happened?? Do you have any idea what I did wrong?
I started doing touchless washes in between full washes. I just pre-rinse with clear water, foam with regular car wash, and rinse. I will follow up with spray wax on the wet car and dry with very clean towels. I keep my car under a cover outside, and it does get a buildup of very fine dust after a rain.
On a side note, Pan - your video showed why I don't like these new spray foaming wheel/tire cleaners everybody is putting out. I also go through about half a bottle per 4 wheels. That's $6 in product per wash!
It's rediculous, they hold for 1 or 2 washes
@@flowinthrou I buy the Hyperfoam in a gallon container and dilute it about 3:1 in a foam pump sprayer. Goes a lot further and is way easier to apply than constantly pulling a trigger. Diluting it doesn’t seem to affect the cleaning power at all.
@@jimshinosky9041 I do this, too.
After trying these type of products I've gone back to using Griots Foaming Tire Cleaner. You get the benefit of the foaming action and about 10-12 car washes out of 1 $8.99 aerosol can.
I was in the commercial carwash business for 25 yrs in the Fingerlakes region of upstate NY. We had a 100’ soft cloth tunnel, 2 touch less Laser washes, and self serve bays. We tried every chemical and combination of chemicals available. Road dirt and salt will generally be removed from vehicles with chemical and high pressure water, road film needs friction to be removed. The key is removing the abrasives before touching, as this gentleman states in this video.

Hi Pan,
is it worth jet washing the vehicle first, then put the B-H foam on?
I find if you do this the chemicals do a much better job of getting deeper in to the grime.
P&S Brakebuster is my go to wheel and tyres, but is there something better for really dirty tyres initially?
I'm about to do first cleans on my brothers cars for his garage, not to your or my level but a decent level, so was thinking a TFR (traffic film remover) as a first job, but seems the B-H is better?
Where did you get the protector end on the car dryer, I have one of these and its great but sometimes just touch the car so a protected nozzle would be very good?
Thanks for the info as always, my go to for anything I need looking at.
Enjoy the spring!
Interesting... Which I'm Disabled and can't contect wash my Mustang as much as I like but It also mainly just has dust on it from only being driven 1,000ish miles a year... So I was wondering if touchless wash would be right for me? Which I don't mind waxing nearly as much... So yeah great testing I have alot of thinking to do.

Andy sei un Grande!!!!! Hi Pan, if i have hard water, you sugest me to use a leafblower?
Hi Pan. I use P&S Brake Buster often on my wheels & tires but it is my understanding that the product does not remove iron. Would you recommend alternating between P&S BB and other products that contain iron removing capabilities like the ones you featured in this video or should I follow P&S BB with an iron remover on the wheeIs? I like P&S because of the rust inhibitors.
I first use an iron remover and let that sink in for 5 minutes , then pressure wash, after that use your regular wheel and rim cleaner
I've just got a litre bottle of Gyeon wheel cleaner with Iron removing capability, not used it yet but will use P&S BB afterwards to get a really deep clean
I am interested in PPF and even possibly a ceramic coat on top of that. What are your thoughts on how to keep these treated cars clean
See my simple tutorial on how to do a maintenance wash of a ceramic coated vehicle: ruclips.net/video/IqIW78FmRYU/видео.htmlsi=LRcMYvy8Df2t-ol4
Hello, would like to ask, is the foam soap used for touchless wash with PH 12 or 13 safe for car with CERAMIC COATING and PPF?
Never got an answer, huh?
Out of curiosity, do you prefer the turtle wax hyperfoam over brake buster? I use both since my M brakes create a lot of dust and I tend to use it when the rims are completely soiled. It does seem like the hyperfoam does a lot more work pre agitation, but after agitation the results do look the same. The hyperfoam also runs out incredibly quick compared to brake buster.
Yes i too would like to know what you thought of the wheel cleaner
Frr yea what’s the best wheel cleaner with lots of break dust
I need to wash my car but it's raining all month long 😑 I took it off road last weekend and it got a little muddy.
Have you tried the Wash Chems Pro 100 or Pro 50? I have been using them lately and they have been giving me impressive results.
I haven't.
Can I use BH TouchLess after TAR spray[before claying, machining and coating]?? Tar spray needs to be flushed with some detergent, not like Iron just with the water?
You wash the car first, before using tar and iron removers. Once the tar stage is done, all that is needed is to thoroughly rinse. Or you can rewash the car quickly or blanket with a pH neutral snow foam and rinse again.
Hi pan I use Gtechniq iron remover they come up perfectly clean everytime without touching them , my wheels have ceramic pro on though
Yes a coated wheel is much easier to clean.
Yo Andy!!
A touchless wash would be a godsend but mind as well just go the extra step and hand wash to get the best results.
Exactly
1:38 where the a-pillar, door, window chrome and fender all meet..... dats some zoomzoom design level effort put ther
I would like to see a Bilt Hamber products test.
I use BH auto wheel, and after trying at least 12 wheel cleaners, I found the BH product to be the best. It reacts the quickest as an iron fallout remover, yet it also has fantastic cleaning ability too.
I use BH auto foam in an Auto Glym foam gun, which gives a thick foam, but not too thick that it doesn't do it's job which is to slide the dirt off the paint surface.
Good to see you rinse top to bottom, which is always how you should imo. I see a few rinsing snow foam bottom to top, WHY ??? What is the point of rinsing the dirtiest part of a car (the bottom bit) upwards onto the cleanest part ? I think valeters and detailers who go against gravity also think the earth is flat too.
Do you never use cold degreaser? I think that would remove the film. In Sweden we always use cold degreaser during winter, otherwise we don't get rid of the film from salt and other winter crap. I apply cold degreaser first and then after a few minutes I apply alkaline degreaser on top of it and then wash both of after a couple of more minutes.
Hi Pan, can Extra Tough be used as Iron Remover or to wash tire and wheel?
Extra Tough is not an iron remover.
I'm really surprised to how well they done, the turtle tyre cleaner wow now imagine how good it would be after a brushing, that's pan and Andy 👍👍
You can see that wheel & tire cleaner in action in this video: ruclips.net/video/H6McPVBMuME/видео.html

I love the hybrid stuff
interesting wonder why it would take off the existing coating but not that remaining excess dirt.. you would think it would take off 100% of the dirt since it also takes off the coating
Good question.
Many contaminates (especially acidic ones like bird droppings, roadkill, bugs guts, ect...) dissolve the Coating(in that isolated area) and adhere directly to the paint/clear. Some even etch into the clearcoat leaving behind visual defects when removed. Iron specs/Rust is another annoyance /example...
Can you do a review on Chem-X’s Stars and Stripes touchless wash?
Panner checks Bob's video from chem X ...he has a cleaner and neutralizer that he uses on big rigs, etc..and the results are pretty impressive..
No agitation, and he wipes like you did with a white paper towel at the end to show its clean
