The right way to remove the tubing from John Guest fittings is to remove the little clip shown at 1:14 (if it has one), then push on the collar *the round bit around the tube). This will cause the metal teeth holding the tube to release. You can then pull out the tube. Don't cut tube with scissors either, use a very sharp stanley knife or special cutting tool. Using scissors will get an uneven edge which is more likely to leak.

Good advice! Few (maybe no) instructions on properly REPLACING existing filter like this (e.g. Culligan C-100) installed on copper tubing..

Thank you brotha!!! Couldn’t get that collar push, teeth release info anywhere. Every video says it’s a replacement video but never details the proper removal procedure.
Read your comment and had it out in 30 seconds!! Thanks again!!

She needs to look at a few RUclips videos on inline filters because if she don't she will run out of plastic water tubing.

I was trying to find out how to replace my water filter that has a copper line and quick connect fittings. Cutting the tube each time is not an option as eventually, I will need to run new lines as the tube would be getting shorter and shorter. This instructional video does a nice job showing how to release quick connects without cutting ruclips.net/video/QBM4GIr8cN4/видео.html
