- No.123. I found out that my fridge inline water filter was leaking. I recently replaced the filter a few months ago. So I replaced it with a new kind ECO PURE filter.

Thanks for the video. Hate to be critical, but you should never use teflon tape on that type of fitting. Teflon tape is used only on pipe threads, where the threads form the seal. The seal shown on the fitting shown is made where the ferrule contacts the brass seat. The threads are only there for proper tightening. Anything, including teflon tape, that could interfere with the ferrule/seat forming a proper seal could compromise the integrity of the seal.

Thank you! This looks easy enough. My husband works alot so I'm trying this myself. I moved the fridge out and discovered the tubing is plastic and hooks directly from the wall fitting into the back of the fridge fitting. So I'm headed to the hardware store for some more tubing because if I try to just attach to the back of the fridge (or directly to the wall) it's almost certain to leak because of the angle it would sit at with the squeeze of the fridge. Your tutorial was perfect for the rest after I put that extension. Thank you!!

One critique it's imperative that you change out that copper tubing that's supplying water to your refrigerator go with the braided hose type that's what the commercial guys use for like your 7-Eleven Speedway excetera other than that excellent video

What’s the different between this in line eco 5 year filter and the one that goes inside the fridge? Is it better to have both ?
I don't think it would hurt to have both, but the one inside your fridge should do the trick.No need for a second one.
