New video so excited!!!! I can't watch in full yet but wanted to help the algorithm by clicking right away! I'm sure I'll comment again when I can watch it this afternoon, SO EXCITED!!!
I love love loved the piece, seeing the process, and seeing your beautiful face and lil Peanut (so cute!!!)! Another just Amazing video, amazing message, and insanely amazing art. I added this to my favorites and will be rewatching. I was tearing up to hear how my video helped you, you know I love your channel, your work, and you as the sweet and wonderful artist you are!! I'm so blown away and just so happy you came back to the piece and enjoyed bringing it to a conclusion. You are the best!! ❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🤩🤩🤩🎉🎉🎉
@@CreatingCuteArt Maggie, I read this now after I have spend my entire afternoon and evening swatching while watching hours worth of your sketchbook playlist! I had the best company! It was so interesting to see your RUclips journey from the beginning! Btw, that one video of you strolling through the woods and sketching was soooo peaceful and relaxing! Can you imagine doing this again?
Oh my gosh how wonderful, thank you!! And yes I actually am heading to Santa Fe with my husband for a birthday trip (for him this time!), and I plan to take some more plein air videos while I'm there!! So they will be up later in April for sure! :)!!!
Thank you for your honesty about your learning during the process of creating this gorgeous art. The inner critic can be so vicious that it completely freezes you. I love the way you went for it anyway! 💖
It feels awkward to share your imperfections, mistakes and difficulties, but it always makes me feel less awkward and understood when other people share their experiences and hardships, so I am really happy you got something out of it :) And yes, I agree, the inner critic can both motivate us to strive for growth as well as pull us down to the point we just feel bad and freeze. So well put! Thanks for your comment, Nik, I really appreciate it ❤️
That stage is drivin me nuts EVERY time, it’s Soooo so satisfying though to learn it’s not as bad and that pushing through can lead to something you are content with! I am so happy this motivated you, that’s all I wanted and I am glad it helped!!! Thank you so much
I love the artwork and your (and Creating Cute Art's) message. I painted with acrylics on top of oil paints once and learned the hard way why you should not do it😅
Wow! I’m so glad you’re back with new videos! You should know that you are a much better artist than you give yourself credit for. I think I told you already in a previous comment. But don’t feel bad about criticizing yourself. You have high standards and expectations, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I totally identify with the struggle to live up to my own standards and expectations. You’re from Germany, a land of high standards and expectations. You’re essentially living out the epigenetics of your people. I am an Asian American who also grew up with such standards of achievement, so I can relate to the self flagellation. Art is an emotional journey that uncovers a lot about ourselves. Art reveals our innermost dreams, desires, and demons. Art is a struggle for creating beauty in an ugly world. The struggle is worth it. Thank you for sharing your struggles with honesty. Your end result is stunningly beautiful! Just keep going, so it for yourself. Sorry for the long rant. LOL
Adon, there is so much on my mind but I can't even word it, I am just so overwhelmed by your amazing comment! You are absolutely right with everything and you gave me so much to think about! You have no idea how much this encourages me. I am currently in the process of healing my depression, so I am extra harsh on myself, but practicing becoming aware of our unconscious negative thinking patterns, that really helps me. I am in the training :) baby steps, we are getting there. Again, thank you so much Adon and sending you a big hug if I may! Have a fantastic weekend ❤️
@@MoniDmajor Thank you for the virtual hug! I too struggle with depression, as well as anxiety and fibromyalgia. I am happy that I could help you in a little way, because it helps me too to lift others up. It’s amazing to connect with someone 6 hours in the “future” 😂 So I should say Guten Morgen! Vielen dank für sharing your art with us.
We all make mistakes. I thought the same as you and got so depressed that I stopped my drawing and paintings for 3 years. I'm now just getting back into it as I think I simply burned out and was too critical of myself. I also watched too many accomplished artists who were twitching almost daily for hours on end which I didn't have the luxury of doing due to work. I tried to get to their standard tackling complicated pieces and trying different mediums instead of concentrating on trying to master one before moving to another. The plan now since I have been away for so long is to start with regular basic anatomy first and do a number of quick sketches a day. Create myself a goal/target and when I am happy with it move onto the next goal. I have some amazing work and also so dreadful work but I've kept them all. If you have Discord you can have a look at what I mean in regards to my work. Graphite and ink line art are probably my best area's but I'll be starting from the beginning again i.e. basic anatomy and shapes to get back into the groove. I wish I had never stopped now but I know it's like riding a bike so it will come back naturally to me eventually. Here is a small sample of my work on Discord: Franck_Alcidi and look in the #my-art-work section. EDIT: Oh and I've just subbed to your channel because i love your honesty and you're work is great! :)
This message made me think, I can relate so much with the watching other artists do the hustle like it’s nothing and I have abandoned art in the past for even 5 years because of frustration and overworking myself to the point I did not enjoy it. And I did not even experience any growth even though I painted a lot. I also can relate with thinking about a fresh start and it’s funny how I also planned to just study anatomy first. 🙂 I think your plan and approach is a really good, the thought process and the change of perspective you are going through, I have so much respect. Wishing you the best on your art journey!
I make tarot videos. And I have the same struggle. When I’m filming sometimes because of anxiety and thoughts that it doesn’t work even my throat can ache I believe because I’m in such a tension at that moment. When I feel it I understand that I forget about the process. So I Ty to breath deeply and find a joy in it 😊
Soonie, I know this feeling so well, with the aching throat, too, I can relate! It‘s an ego thing I think when you become so self aware to the point you feel very much observed, but then you are not really in present, with the task at hand, that flow state so to speak. It is so important to remind ourselves just like you said here, and breaaaaathe 😊
This is fantastic! I see that you aren't really posting videos anymore, but I am going to subscribe just in case. I definitely needed that message. Just yesterday, I painted a piece that I almost threw away! Then, I looked at it after it dried and realized I really liked it and it might just be my greatest job yet! You definitely have to give yourself grace when you make art. I hope you post more!!
Great piece. I also learned not to panic, just keep working on it. But boy, a few times I was like "what is she doing? It's like almost finished." When I then heard your explanation, I did understand why, and thus the learnings from this video is a great reminder for me for times I feel the same. Thx for the video.
I was very intentional with everything I did but it just did not work and I must admit, I cried! Not just once, you saw me ruining good progress and only after I did my mistakes I realized "what I had before wasn't bad after all!". So glad this video can serve as a reminder, I am sure we all go through this from time to time, it's either that or not doing art. I had gone through long phases of not doing art because of that fear. Needless to say I was not happy. Your comment really made me happy, thank you and have a great weekend, Dieter
Thank you so much for watching it and I am so happy you found it calming! It‘s not my most well received video but very dear to me, so it means a lot! ❤️
I am glad you decided to let yourself go and remember that joy of making art!😊By the way your painting turned out beautiful! Bye for now a new subscriber in California U.S.A👋👍👍🎨🥰😃
Lovely video 👏🏾 this subject is so relatable. The amount of times I say I’m going to quit art and RUclips after drawing is crazy 😂😂 I never mean it, but I always think it lol. I’m glad you didn’t give up on the painting, it turned out great!
You can’t imagine how good it feels to hear I am not the only one who experiences this, makes me feel less like a self-loathing weirdo 😆 Btw, I see you paint people of color a lot and I love the variety of skin tones you have in your work, Amanda! My goal is to dare going darker over time, I don’t get why it is so challenging to me, but it makes me want to explore that more seeing how you nail it!
@@MoniDmajor you are absolutely not alone!! And thank you so much! I am so sorry to hearing your Pittie passed away 😭♥️ Here’s a big warm imaginary hug to you, I can imagine it’s not easy and it will take time to go through the grieving. Getting flashbacks from when my baby bird passed away. It’s so great to hear so many artists now practice to paint people of color, they are still a rare subject in paintings unfortunately. I will gradually go darker and darker, it really takes time and practice. I will google that actress you just mentioned btw! Thank you so much for taking your time to comment!
Oh my god, this made my day! Been too busy uploading anything so I am super greatful you stumbled upon my videos! Since I tend to work big and on watercolor blocks instead of individual sheets I usually use the tracing paper technique, so I print out the sketch and then I tape a graphite tracing paper onto the backside of that sketch, then lay it down on the block and tape it again so it would stay in place and then trace the lines with a sharp sturdy colored pencil (so I can see better which lines haven’t been traced yet). I hope this helps! Have a great day, Teresa 😊💕
