Dear Dr. Ekberg. I m 44 years old. My father passed away from heart attack last moth age 68. He had a heart attack 30years ago and had open heart surgery.
I dont drink dont smoke and was a pro football player. I went for testing and i have 50-70% stenosis in the top branch of the vertical artery. 3 cardiolostis told me 1000% i need to go on statin as its the only safe tool to prevent heart attack and give protection against arterial plaque.
All the cardiologists said that the risk of not taking is far more greater than taking it and that no diet can really make the liver function efficiently to the point of better handling cholesterol. ( i have fatty liver also . SGPT 62. ).
What is your position on the above as its clear you suggest something whixh is completely the opposite .
Thanking you in advance for your reply

@@sakistzikas8694 My Father did everything the Doctors told him starting in his 60's after his 1st heart attack, they put him on a diet that eventually caused all of the symptoms you describe about your Father, my Father had angioplasty's and stents every six months, in the end he died painfully. I am now 66 years old and take zero drugs, never had any heart issues at all and the answer is holistic natural dietary habits. You must have healthy fats and eliminate sugars and wheat. Watch Dr. Ekberg's videos and eat a healthy diet and do not let your Doctors scare you into taking their drug routines, my Doctors doesn't even bother checking my cholesterol anymore because I always giggled when they said I was a little high and I should take statins, I eat 3 eggs a day and meat and bacon etc. Good luck.

      As a replacement:
      # I Eat 5 Brazil nuts each day. Brazil nuts contain Selenium, which is a "feel good" hormone
      # I also walk regularly & that works as a "mood booster/bad mood enema"

Most Americans are put on statins. WHY? There is no "one way fix for all" for something that's a myth to begin with, i.e. the "cholesterol is bad" myth. But when I go to my local doctor, the minute he sees "high" cholesterol, as defined by the pharmaceutical industry, he rings alarm bells, rushes out of the exam room, and comes right back with boxes of free sample statins along with a prescription to continue them when the samples are gone! Hogwash! I took the statins home and threw them out. I've been looking for a doctor that actually does their own research and cares about my health but I can't find any! They're all beholden to Big Pharma! So I've been changing my diet and eating healthier foods and good fats and am not worried about cholesterol at all. I've lost weight and have never felt better in my life! All of this is lost on my doctor, by the way. All he sees is high total cholesterol. Damn everything else, as far as he's concerned!

My old mother was not fat but the doctor recommended statin drugs and says it good for her for long term health benefits . She really trusted them.
I noticed family doctors were very encouraging people to take statins including my doctor.
After years of usage, she became disabled due to muscle pain and weakness. Her heart muscle was so weak that the says she's going to cardiovascular arrest very soon.
The hospital staffs and her family doctor won't admit it's the statin drug.
I forced her off statin drugs and she was able to made full recovery few months later.
I gave her vitamin C 500mg, freshly cooked meat, yogurt, fresh fruits & vegetables, rice, potato, milk , eggs, and fatty ox tail soup as home remedies that makes her recovery successfully.

I have horribly high triglicerides and cholesterol. Doctor recommended i get on statins which i did for a short time. Had my heart checked and circulation. Had virtual imaging with my heart and got a zero calcium score. I'm 57 years old and to have a zero calcium score is almost unheard of with my levels. Started developing numbness in my feet and lower legs. Stopped the statin after doing research. Now I'm left with neuropathy and terrible pain. Remember these doctors are just people like the rest of us. They can be just as ignorant as the next person. Any doctor that does the research will not prescribe this garbage. My former doctor still recomemended I take this stuff after the test i took showing my heart and arteries were clear. Great job recognizing what was happening to your mother.

Really, it's not cholesterol that is the problem, the root cause is our food supply is jacked out of shape with all the GMOs and HFCS and so on. Our bodies weren't designed to operate on garbage fuel like what we have served to us these days. Thanks for the info.

I remember it because it was on the news and my supervisor was taking it and was concerned about it bigtime and I remember talking to him about it. I lost 50 lbs, was eating absolutely clean, all to get rid of an Afib issue I developed. And also to try and fix an abnormally high cholesterol number. My cardiologist was very impressed with my life changes and congratulated me. Then informed me that my cholesterol was higher than when I started my fix. Put me on statins. I didn’t want to take statins. So I didn’t. 3 years later I died in the ER from a massive LAD heart attack. I have no choice but to take them. I can eat grass everyday and create cholesterol. I take coq10 everyday to mange and haven’t had any issues so far. But I’m alive and still holding my health in line. Thanks for the great videos. I watch them all the time.

I am 58. My cholesterol has always been around 7 ( uk unit ). Avoided statins till just over a year ago when I finally gave in to the doctor. Started them in October 2021. Peripheral neuropathy in my feet kicked in instantly. Stopped taking them in December. Had a blood test in February 2022 and my cholesterol was back up at 7. It had initially lowered to 4.3. Was advised to start statins again. Now it December 2022. Still got neuropathy but now got most of the symptoms that others here have. I feel like I have aged 10 years in the past 12 months. I was fit and active to start with. I can barely walk a mile now due to pain and aches. I was worried I was starting with dementia as during the first half of the day my mind would sometimes go blank. Seems like I'm not the only one. I think last nights pill may be my last. I have a medical review next month.

They changed my statin to simvastatin which changed nothing so I decided to stop taking them. It's now the end of March 2023 and WOW !!!!! What a difference. Neuropathy is nothing more than a little sensation in my feet. No pain or cramps in my legs. Just been on a short holiday and walked 32 miles in 4 days no problem. Brain fog has gone and my general energy levels are back. My enthusiasm to get things done at home have returned. I have got more things done ie gardening , maintenance ect since December than the whole of last year and can't wait to get back into hobbies like fishing one the weather warms a little. I had been taking 20mg rosuvastatin until I stopped with out the knowledge of my Doctor early May. Why did I do it? Let me tell you my story. Since November of 2022, I have pain in my right knee that made me limp walk. Had it x-rayed and my Doctor said mild arthritis. Before this my left knee had needle and pain but it is now gone. My legs calves cramp often when I am lying in bed. The base of my right thumb had needle and pain. I had constant dry cough so severe at night. I had muscle pain on both my upper arm. My over all strength from the waist down is very weak that I feel like a really old man at the age of 69. All this time I thought I was just really getting old and the pain I am experiencing is normal at this age. Early May I started feeling needle sensation at the base of my left thumb. That made me think to question what if this drug is the cause of all this pain. So I stopped taking the medication and started taking R-alphalipoicacid, magnesium, B12 and glucosaminchondroitin. In two weeks time I feel better. I do not know how to tell my Doctor comes September, but before that I will have a blood test but what ever the result, I will not take rosuvastatin again. Now after 5 weeks off rosuvastatin I am feeling much better. I had Benazepril and astorvastatin replaced by rosuvastatin prior so you know I had been taking statin drugs for years. My dry coughs are gone, right knee's pain is almost gone, cramping is gone. No more needles and pain. This is my story on Statin drugs.

My suggestion to try intermittent fasting is met with skepticism...breakfast being 'the most important meal of the day', and them feeling either sick without sugar, or telling me that if they cannot eat fat because it is not good, and not even sugar, then what is one supposed to eat, etc. Or announcing with pride that they reduced noodles consumption, or bread, but then they baked this wonderful cake...with much less sugar than the recipe says (40% cane sugar and 20% honey rather than 60% white sugar. ..the rest is flour)

A national health system is not *free.* We *all* pay for it with income taxes.
It is cold, impersonal, and has no incentive to be competitive, which is how we advanced so far in the last couple centuries: free market competition with minimal interference by government. Provide the best product for the best price, or get left behind.
0bamacare jacked the cost of health care tremendously, and quality of care went down. Sad.
So many socialists want momma government to provide for their survival and well being. All they will get is equal sharing of misery, under the rule of a bunch of elites. We pretty much have that now, which is heartbreaking. Proof is watching major leftist cities decay, tents, needles, theft, protesters, trash and bicycle parts, all over the place, because all these haters of free market capitalism and the moral rule of law want to let it erode so they can replace it with the tyranny mankind has fought to escape from since cave-man days. Looks like we are headed back there if this socialism garbage keeps going on.
And any centralized medical system is deaf to the individual, you may as well have a numbered tag riveted to your ear and respond by saying "Moo," or "Ba-aaa."

    I found this article interesting.
the brain has the highest cholesterol content of any organ in the body. Most of the brain's cholesterol exists in the axons of nerve cells, where it protects cells and facilitates quick transmission of the electrical impulses. This has a big impact on how thought, movement, and sensation are controlled.

I have a circumstance where my LDL has been high and yet I eat correctly to address this situation. I also exercise vigorously regularly (at least every other day) and I get plenty of sleep. I am not overweight and have a low fat mass ratio overall too and I am muscular. After a long period of working on LDL reduction via diet, exercise and sleep - and my mother had the same situation with high LDL no matter her rigorous efforts to reduce it naturally - I agreed to a low low dose of statin at the recommendation of my doctor to reduce LDL. I have been on the statin only for a few months and will check my LDL levels in a few more months with my doctor. What would you suggest I do to address my situation instead of a statin?

I'm sorry that happened to your mother. My Nurse Practioner put me on 20mg of Lipitor this October 5th. By the 22nd, I lost 10 pounds in one week, felt dizzy, respitory problems, no energy, very sick, very ill. I got muscle pain and my muscles got so weak, especially my legs, that I had to stay in bed for five days. I quit taking it this Oct 27th. As of today, Nov. 1, 2023, I've gained strength back in my legs. This all happened within a month. I think I can start going back to the gym now. I've never had a medication that affected me like this before. It's pure poison. The only reason the NP put me on this is because my triglycerides, and glucose were high, out of range, but I can do this myself with diet and the gym.

@@s.tranger1074It's only "rare" as long as it doesn't happen to you or a loved one and when it does, (some) doctors just ignore it and chalk it up to something else. It happened to my husband. He kept telling his doctor for years that he was experiencing severe muscle aches and cognitive issues and he wouldn't even test him for Rhabdomyolisis. All it would have taken is a simple blood test. He wouldn't even admit that Statins deplete CoQ10! It was actually an ER doctor that said he had rhabdomyolisis which confirmed our suspicions and he no longer sees that doctor! Once he got off it, his muscle aches went away so I am going by that not by what I am told like you say. And NO, it's not "anecdotal" evidence like some doctors or you may try to say. I guess you do believe everything Big Pharma says they "discovered" during their "clinical trials" which of course omits or downplays serious side effects because it wouldn't be good for their bottom line. You sound like you work for Big Pharma. If you take statins and feel they are great, then be my guest and keep on taking them!

You would want to be very careful to stop taking Rosuvastatin. Your LDL is likely to climb and while it is not the number 1 reason for heart inflammation you might look at taking 5mg which will still give you 40% reduction. See Ford Brewers videos and he advises 5 mg. Cardiologists would NOT recommend you stop taking your medication without giving a chance to try reduced or other statins. Unfortunately Cardiologist would strongly disagree with the video above as simplistic and not giving the full picture

My doc prescribed prednisone for the swelling which was a short term bandaid. Then he put me on 1000mg of naproxin (for swelling and pain) for a month which did NOTHING; swelling continued. It caused me to retain water. My cardiologist took me off the naproxin and started me on lasix and 200mg potassiumCl which has removed the water swelling but not the muscle and joint pain. After watching this video and doing other reading , I have stopped taking atorvastatin. Too soon to tell if it works but I am hopefull. Meantime taking excedrin for the joint and muscle pain.
