Have you heard anything about the Rio FaceLite Beauty Boosting LED Face Mask? I'm trying to find further reviews but not sure if it's still new or not really heard of
I love my LED devices - I first bought the Currentbody mask and later after seeing the results I bought a LED full body panel. I found that the most visible short term result was on my neck (I simply turned the mask upside down and used it on my neck too). After I bought the panel I realised that my arthritis pains was diminished 99%. I use the panel 6 days a week. I am 61 😀
That is amazing result with the pain! I didn‘t get into the pain reduction much in the videos as I figured it would be too much, but maybe I will do one for the well aging series. It seems that joint pain is something that gets more frequent with age…
Hello, leneskov, can you tell me which full body panel you purchased and from where? There are so many advertisements that it's difficult to know what works. It sounds like your panel does a good job. Thank you very much.
I love this mask, got mine in April and have seen a very noticeable reduction in redness on my skin, I look healthier, glowing and a few people have comments how well I look. It might well be coincidence but I’m convinced it’s the mask. 😍😍 I use mine around 4 times a week
I do not recommend this product -Mine lasted one year. The company sent me a new one after i had to pay for shipping to send my product back. The new one last 13mths. They said they have a 2yr warranty but it starts with the first one i had. I used mine every day. I guess it couldn't handle the every day use? They would not stand by their warranty. This was an expensive mask and should have lasted longer.
Can you talk through how you found out it's not working properly? Can't find the faulty comments anywhere. When they say it have 2year warranty it shouldn't mean it stop being effective after that period. I'm considering purchase but I will be disappointed if it last only 1-2 years
@@kasiad9826 i used it everyday. Next day wouldn’t light up at all. It was fully charged but tried to charge it again. The lights wouldn’t come on at all. I then ordered the omnilux. But only have it for a few months now. Hopefully it will last longer and better customer service .
I just used mine that I received from Christmas and I used the googles and now it’s have a purple ring around my eyes from where the googles were! What the heck
Which goggles did you use with them? It might be that the fit wasn't right and that the pressure led to that ring around the eyes? Did it fade over time?
I bought the Currentbody mask, but have found myself unable to handle the brightness level, unfortunately. I tried eye protection, including the goggles that came with it (which are actually too bulky and create additional space between the mask and the skin, which could impact performance; the are also uncomfortable when they press against the eye region + I could still see the bright red glare). Apparently, some people found black fabric, folded for extra density, to be helpful. For me, that would make the whole experience too much of a hassle, with the mask not staying in place or the eye-cover sliding down 😅😣 Overall, I got really stressed out by the extreme brightness and was not ready for such an experience 😢 I had high hopes concerning the reduction of inflammation, which I am prone to, but - for those with very sensitive eyes - it may not be the best of gadgets. I may give the handheld devices a try at some point, but the masks are not for everyone, unfortunately. Perhaps one could wear tight-fitting goggles with the Foreo one - there is open space in the eye region. Anyway, I just wanted to put this information out there, because the light intensity CAN be very uncomfortable and potentially damaging. While red light does not seem to impact our vision, exposure to prolonged brightness can.
The current body mask should have come with the black eye pieces that you can insert into the eye holes that will completely block the light. I bet if you contacted them you could get them. I use them but it does make the mask a little uncomfortable but it's only for 10 minutes so maybe you can get these and be able to use your mask.

My 70th birthday is coming up this year and whenever I'm crossing a "decade" birthday I always add things to my aging well routine. Diet, exercise, gadgets :) I started off the year with LED masks for face and neck. My experience is similar to yours! I would recommend them if you have the resources to invest in one. It took months and consistency however, to really SEE a difference. Every day for 10 min. One day (maybe 3 months in?) I was looking at my skin and was struck by how even and smooth my skin looked. (I've always had good skin) Even tone and colour and fast healing. I had some irritation from an over-exuberance of retinol use and within 2 days it was cleared where in the past this sort of irritation would take longer.
I have been using the old model Mito Mini (with green tea) for a couple of years now. I guess it is helping somewhat. Hi Anne, first of all thanks for your review. I purchased the face and neck mask as a christmas present for myself last December. However although I noticed an overall clarity and plumper skin, unfortunately for me it aggravated my melasma and sun spots. I've researched everywhere in order to know if it is not recommended for my type of skin. I couldn't find anything but the fact that it hasn't been tested for melasma. So no proof it can worsen it and no proof it cannot. I've put it aside and last month I tried it again 2 days, and same result :( I'm now left with with a led face and neck mask (never opened the one for the neck) that I paid 460 Eur for, used for a total 7 days , that I cannot use. I wonder if anyone had the same result as I had, and maybe if you can take a close look at your dark spot and update your review in a few weeks/months ? Loved to see what you did with your sister skin btw.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. So far I don't see a difference, but I don't have melasma, only sun spots. Someone contacted me after the first video and asked how I would proceed if I had melasma and I think I would not have risked using the mask. That is an individual decision though and will probably depend on what you perceive your biggest concern to be. I will film a shorts on that topic probably, I have had quite a few questions after the two videos that I need to address.
@@Lulu-kt6gr I did actually, I keep trying different ways to use it without much success so far. I don't get the plumping & clarity effect on my skin anymore too. I put a generous amount of La roche posay cicaplast balm B5 on these areas and use the mask for around 15min. I feel it really helps with the healing process.
I have a bit of the effect you are describing, with my sunspots becoming a bit darker, but plumper, firmer, snd healthier looking skin with lessened wrinkle/line depth is more important to me then sunspots. So I continue to use. I just had an initial darkening of my few small sunspots, with no further development of new ones, so I am not concerned.

I'm very keen to use RLT but I am terribly afraid of facial fat loss. I have seen the LED RLT has been used for both skin rejuvenation as well as fat reduction. The research and statements from companies/papers made have been deeply confusing to me. I would be so grateful for some clarity on this.
Hi there, if you are concerned about facial fat loss, stay away!!! I started using the Current Body Mask last year and I too experienced the nice effect of less redness and an "immediate" plumping effect at the beginning. Like everyone else, I thought I was doing something good for my skin. A few months later I noticed that my face was getting slimmer on the cheeks and underneath the eyes, where all of the sudden I got hollows. As I hadn't change anything in my diet, exercise routine or skincare, I started researching on the facial fat loss side effects of LED. Other than some suspicion on Reddit I did not find anything relevant because there are NO studies on this potential side effect on the face. BUT I accidentally found a commercial on an LED slimming device promising to MELT FAT all over the body and BUM this device uses the exact same wavelengths of 635nm (red) and 880nm (infrared) as all the LED face masks including the Current Body one. For reference here is the link to this commercial: contourlightdevices.com/the-truth-about-fat-loss-with-red-light-therapy/
@@mayahobsbawm415 Thanks a lot for your insight! How often and for how long did you use the currentbody mask for? Sorry it's turned out that way and hope you find something that alleviates some of the unwanted effects of RLT
does this strap secure well? i bought the omnilux and returned it because after 1 use i found the strap to be so cumbersome and annoying to put on. i'm waiting to see if qure goes on sale.
I have several sunscreen reviews on my channel, but the best one is the one you can afford and wear regularly. My personal favorites can be found here: shopmy.us/collections/24709 For antioxidants I personally use mainly Vitamin C, but again it depends on your skin.
I have bought their LED mask fron 1st Sep and until 12 Sep, the purchase is still stuck in somewhere I don't know and no CS reply me about it. cannot even refund because I don't have the product in hand. can someone tell me if this is a scam? I have never experienced such a bad luck when I do online purchase. this is absurd!
Some masks recommend eye protection and usually come with protective goggles. This one does not require eye protection, but you can of course wear protective goggles anyway.
Hi Dr. Anne, just got my currentbody mask and super excited but just read the contraindications that says retinol is one. I am using retinol in my nightcare routine! What do you recommend? I suppose most of the users are using some kind of retinols and other skincare products like Aha and BHA.
@@AnnaCruz-ih4xu I have only tried this one, so I can't compare, but the Dr Dennis Gross ones combines different wave lengths, which I don't prefer. And I don't think facial fat loss is an issue with at home devices.
@@DoctorAnne i mean if the device itself works still well? How long does it needs to charge? And how long it lasts to use already charged till second charging? Also may i use any good serum during session?
@@AnnaCruz-ih4xu The device still works well, it takes around 20 minutes to fully charge and lasts around 10-20 uses before I need to charge it again (I haven't counted. I just charge it whenever it indicates it is running low, but it isn't frequent that this happens). You can use serums without actives or light sensitive ingredients (they sell skincare to go with it), but I usually use mine on clean skin.
I am new here 👐 Thanks for a great video! I am also new to this whole industry of different devices, masks, LED, microcurrent, radio-frequency etc. And it is quite overwhelming to understand which is good for what... 😳What would be your ONE best advice for a 48 year old woman looking to get a generel improvement of skin texture and reduction in fine likes/wrinkles? Can you get great result with a mask "working for you" instead of having to spend time using wands etc. yourself - or are they not as effective? (I know for instance about the Myolift (and similar brands) eye, forehead and lip masks but don't understand what will serve the cheeks and other parts of the face not covered by these) 🤷♀ Thanks in advance for any help you can share to enligthen me. Best from Susanne
Hi Susanne, welcome to the community. My first question would be: Is the rest of your routine set up for success? Devices are always the last step, an add on, but will never be the one things that brings the most changes. Myolift and similar aim to stimulate the muscles so the skin is pulled more tightly because there is more volume underneath, stimulating collagen is only a potential secondary effect. The LED masks claim to primarily increase collagen production. But quite frankly: None of them will give you the effects in office treatment or a good skincare routine will.
It is safe as in it won't harm the baby, but if you have a tendency for hyperpigmentation or melasma, that could be influenced depending on the wavelengths used.
Thanks for this video. I am going to try it. Will you do an update in a few months? So the CB serums weren't the best quality? I didn't know they used fragrance in their HA serums. The reviews on their site for the serums are very good and i think they are legit. Are you a fan of HA serums anyway? Are there any antioxidant serums that you recommend. I'm going to subscribe to your channel.
I can do an update after a few more months again, sure. The serums weren't bad at all, it is just that they were not my personal preference in terms of texture and fragrance. Both felt a little sticky and were more gloopy than I personally like. But from the ingredient perspective they are fine. I don't really use HA single use serums anymore, I prefer less layers and multitasking products. My preferred antioxidant is Vitamin C, and my preferred serum is the Geek & Gorgeous C-Glow, but I also liked the Timeless Vitamin C, which is easier to get when you live in the US.
I am 72 and spent a lot of my youth in Africa, during which time I sunbathed a lot, and this was without protection. My skin isn’t too bad, but I have vertical lines on my cheeks. Is it too late for me to try this mask? Needless to say, I also have a turkey neck, which is even more worrying. Any hope there for improvement? Would appreciate your input.
While it is never too late to start taking care of our skin, we have to be realistic about the expectations: This mask will not be able to reverse that and the improvements you will see will most likely not be enough to satisfy you. Have you considered seeing a dermatologist and discussing the different options? That might, in the long run, give you more value for money, even if it is more expensive at first. If you just want more even and more glowy looking skin, then this mask is probably better.
I don’t suffer from rosacea personally but suffer from a little sensitive but I want this to help better texture on my skin wrinkles around eyes and dark circles would anyone advise it’s good for this?
I don't think it will have any impact on dark circles and it wouldn't be my first choice for texture either. If this will give you additional benefits depends on the rest of your routine.
New subscriber here - did anyone find more Sunspots and more pigmentation marks after using the Current body mask? My freckles seemed more accentuated too after using their mask… anyone had the same?
I didn't notice that and a friend of mine who uses the mask actually saw an improvement in her pigmentation - but that I didn't see either, so I guess it is very individual how your hyperpigmentation reacts to it.
You apply them after you used the mask, there are only a few skincare ingredients that can be used while the mask is on. But I feel like both will give you great results in combination.
Has anyone used this during pregnancy? I can’t see why this is unsafe to use but I know of course they have to put a disclaimer on the product as there isn’t enough testing on pregnant women. If anyone is a dermatologist and would know, I’d appreciate the info. Thanks
Wouldn't that be a question for an obstetrician? From the skin perspective probably because your risk for hyperpigmentation and melasma increases during pregnancy due to the hormonal changes.
We have midwives or GP’s here in the UK. We only have a obstetrician if there are concerns during pregnancy. Midwives / GP wouldn’t have the answers. You’re probably right due to hormonal other than harming the baby. Thank you for your reply 😊
The camera always even things out, so subtle changes are very hard to pick up. As I said in the video, there are no drastic changes, but those couldn't be expected with at home devices.
I ended up using my thick, panda ear face washing headband to get the mask to fit/not move. Worked great, however, I wish I would have gotten the Omnilux for a better fit. Overall, I think the red light therapy helps radiance and speeds up healing. Pretty happy with it.
Not as in I tested it, but from what I gather on the website the wavelengths they are using aren't all in the recommended spectrum and that they have a blue light option available. It seems to be controllable over an app and seems to have a higher irradiance as it only takes a short time of use compared to others. But again, haven't tried it myself.
Sorry wanted to love the CB brand but no. AVOID the Current Body LED mask - it gave me pigmentation and freckles and a little growth on my face. Worst decision of my life using it. Their customer service is also atrocious!
@@olga_b344 That is not what I wanted to suggest - if you react to LED as you described, I am not sure if another brand would be different. I was just curious if you had experiences with other masks that might have worked better for you because you specifically said to avoid the brand, not LED.

@@mayahobsbawm415 Thanks a lot for your insight! How often and for how long did you use the currentbody mask for? Sorry it's turned out that way and hope you find something that alleviates some of the unwanted effects of RLT
I want to buy this led mask but get afraid you say 1 it not works after months of use it. 2 it causes lost of fat ??
does this strap secure well? i bought the omnilux and returned it because after 1 use i found the strap to be so cumbersome and annoying to put on. i'm waiting to see if qure goes on sale.
The strap stays put, but I wish they had a second one. It doesn't fit well on my chin area (I demonstrate that in the video).
Which sunscreen and antioxidant do you recommend please? Thank you
I have several sunscreen reviews on my channel, but the best one is the one you can afford and wear regularly. My personal favorites can be found here: shopmy.us/collections/24709
For antioxidants I personally use mainly Vitamin C, but again it depends on your skin.
Should we use safety glasses?
I don't and the brand doesn't state the neccessity. It is a personal decision though - I usually lie down and close my eyes anyway, for relaxing.
And if instead of the green tea serum from current body we used a green tea infusion as a toner before the mask, do you think it would work?
I prefer to use LED masks on bare skin because especially with extracts there yould be reactions. In theory though that might work.
Can I use it 20 min a day, 10 on my face and another10 min on my head, hair, or neck?
You can use it for ten minutes each on as many different sites of your body as you want.
I am sorry you experienced that. As mine was PR I can't comment in the time it usually takes to ship.
How do you protect your eyes is it not safe then for eyes?
Some masks recommend eye protection and usually come with protective goggles. This one does not require eye protection, but you can of course wear protective goggles anyway.
How long does the device last until replaced by new one?
I can‘t say yet. I have had mine for a little longer than 2 years and it is still going strong.
Hi Dr. Anne, just got my currentbody mask and super excited but just read the contraindications that says retinol is one. I am using retinol in my nightcare routine! What do you recommend? I suppose most of the users are using some kind of retinols and other skincare products like Aha and BHA.
Don't apply the retinol an use the mask on top. I use Tretinoin at night any my mask either before that or in the mornings.
Thanks @@DoctorAnne. Biut do you think that the skin will be sensitive to the red light because of using retinols in general?
@@MP-dz2ki I don't think the red light is much of an issue there, no. It is the UV light we need to worry about.
Does it still works well?
Yes, I still use mine 3-5 times a week without problems.
@@DoctorAnne which is better dr dennis or current body? Many says also it causes fat loose ?
Will LED therapy mask help lift jowls and sagging neck? Thank you.
It might help prevent them getting worse, but it won‘t reverse them, no.
(I know for instance about the Myolift (and similar brands) eye, forehead and lip masks but don't understand what will serve the cheeks and other parts of the face not covered by these) 🤷♀
Thanks in advance for any help you can share to enligthen me.
Hi Anne thanks for your review please I want to ask you about LED mask Is it safe If I use it while Iam pregnant ?
It is safe as in it won't harm the baby, but if you have a tendency for hyperpigmentation or melasma, that could be influenced depending on the wavelengths used.
Is it safe on neck and chest? I worry about thyroid gland😮
Yes, it is. The thyroid gland is not affected by red light.
Will it be suitable for use if i have rosacea?
That depends on your individual skin, but based on how it works it should be suitable for rosacea skin.
@@DoctorAnneyou speak so highly about this? So have you not seen any difference since you’ve been using this overall?
@@indiangirl.uk.8420 I have, and I talk about them and show video footage in the video, but not in texture or in dark circles.
Could a kojic acid . glycolic acid tretinoin cream be used after this ? If the skin tolerates ?
Yes.
@@DoctorAnne ,thank you!!!
@@sha8392 You are welcome.
@@DoctorAnne one more questioncould you kindly answer if there is waiting time or if the products could be directly applied after the led light?
@@sha8392 You can apply them directly after the LED therapy is done.
Where can i buy the protective glasses?
I ordered mine online, but some brands sell them as well.
How do these work with skincare esp retinol
You apply them after you used the mask, there are only a few skincare ingredients that can be used while the mask is on. But I feel like both will give you great results in combination.
Hi
@@summersunxx7441 I see, thank you for adding that information. In Germany, health care is organized differently.
Bit frustrating that the final result is not to be seen because of the super fast moving out of sync😅
You can slow down the rate at which the video is played with the button in the right lower corner.
@@DoctorAnne i did ..at slowest pace but even then its unwatchable. Not in sync and you keep moving.
@@Ladadeedeedee I guess you will need to go find another video then.
I dont see anny changes😮
The camera always even things out, so subtle changes are very hard to pick up. As I said in the video, there are no drastic changes, but those couldn't be expected with at home devices.
I ended up using my thick, panda ear face washing headband to get the mask to fit/not move. Worked great, however, I wish I would have gotten the Omnilux for a better fit. Overall, I think the red light therapy helps radiance and speeds up healing. Pretty happy with it.
Oh, I need to try that!
For some women acne goes away after pregnancy. It is true or not?
Yes, that is true for some women.
Is it safe to use hormonal tablets for acne? Reply please 🙏.
That depends on the tablets and the type of acne. But you should never take hormones without consulting your doctor.
Have you ever looked at the Qure mask, it's all so confusing
Not as in I tested it, but from what I gather on the website the wavelengths they are using aren't all in the recommended spectrum and that they have a blue light option available. It seems to be controllable over an app and seems to have a higher irradiance as it only takes a short time of use compared to others.
But again, haven't tried it myself.
I have read that green tea is fantastic to use with LED, but yes I hate fragrance in any skincare but my body
I have read that too, but more as anecdotal report. But at least it won't hurt.
When u keep moving your head like that I can't see the final result😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You can pause the video at any time you want if you want to look at one angle for longer than the others.
😘😘😘
Thank you
Sorry wanted to love the CB brand but no. AVOID the Current Body LED mask - it gave me pigmentation and freckles and a little growth on my face. Worst decision of my life using it. Their customer service is also atrocious!
I am sorry you had this experience. Have you tried other LED masks from other brands that worked better for you?
@@DoctorAnne I think I need to do that - try a different brand. Thank you. Blessings. ❤️
@@olga_b344 That is not what I wanted to suggest - if you react to LED as you described, I am not sure if another brand would be different. I was just curious if you had experiences with other masks that might have worked better for you because you specifically said to avoid the brand, not LED.
@@DoctorAnne thank you! I haven’t had other experiences - I just heard others give positive reviews to Omnilux and some other more expensive brands so I just assumed they were better :) xx
@@DoctorAnne I haven’t yet. I might give it a go. Thanks again for your Chanel!
I would not use an LED mask as I am sure it will aggravate my melasma 😖. And ! If I remember well you are the same age as me ☺️ so we are early 40’s not mid 😛once we hit 45 them maybe we can say we are mid 40’s … maybe then 😆
Okay, 43, going on 44 - maybe late early 40s then? But you are right, if I had melasma, I probably wouldn‘t risk it either.
