    As doctor passionate about skin care that delivers results and about well aging, I want to help you quickly and efficiently pick a skin care regime that works, by explaining the science behind skin and by sharing quick product reviews.
    I am a big believer that creating a skincare routine that targets your specific concerns is not a matter of your budget. There are many great affordable brands out there: The Inkey List, Good Molecules, Geek & Gorgeous or pixi skincare to name a few of my favorites, and if you know how to combine them, you are well on your way to healthy and happy skin.
    Healthy and happy skin does not mean "flawless" - whatever that might be. I have been struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema (PIH and PIE) for most of my adult life, and it took me a while to figure out that gentle is key. I went through a retinol damaged skin barrier, acne flare ups and sun damage until I finally reached my happy place: With Tretinoin, sunscreen and of course a red lipstick!

    What matters most to you if the performance is similar - design or price?

    • @michy2630
      @michy2630 Год назад +1

      I missed this question. If performances are both similar, I will look at price next then design. But those 2 areas may be the same. Bc if the design makes it annoying to use I don't want it. I also am very careful with what I buy now. My first device was $595 for a Pico toner, which is MC. I sold it but I lost money on this. I'm never over spending again. I didn't like using it, didn't do enough research before buying it. Now I read, listen to people's videos & learn how a device works, performs, the design before buying

    What about Myolift? Is it stronger? It also comes with gloves that you can wet and no need for conductive gel. And a question: given that current passes through the path with the least amount of resistance, doesn't that imply that when we apply the conductive gel all over the skin, the current passes through the surface of our skin (through the conductive gel) instead of going through the tissue which I assume has higher resistance?

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  8 месяцев назад

      I haven't tried Myolift, so I can't comment on how it compares to the ZIIP, but all at home devices are of similar strength.
      Your question regarding the current is a good one: tissue resistance is higher, but the highest resistance would be dry skin, so by applying the gel you reduce that so the current can enter the tissue. There surely is some that stays on the surface, but the majority will go into the tissue - as it does with TENS or with ultrasound in a medical setting. If the layer of cundictive gel would be several cm thick, it might flow through that one completely, but the thin layer won't deter it completely - which you can feel by the muscles sometimes involuntarily contracting.

    The NuFACE mini did nothing for me. But the full size and using it doing the full face pro treatment I found on RUclips gives the most amazing results. I did learn that it is important not to over use on the lower face where u feel u should becaus the skin is very lax there but the results come (as with placing fillers and Biostims-up higher on the face and head to give lift to the lower face. As the muscles are only attached to the skin in the lower face and you can actually cause a thickening of the muscles there and make the tissue heavier
    But using the NuFACE as they state to. Everyday for 60 and then couple xs a week TRULY does give u the result we are trying to achieve Everyone should purchase the NuFACE in my opinion. But I am curious about the adp production the new ziip claims to cause.

    Hi, I was interested in purchasing this, but am always concerned when I hear microcurrrent shouldn't be used on those with cancer. As a doctor, why is this? And what if you have cancer but are not yet aware? As all cancer sufferers will be at some point. Also, is it safe to use with fillings? Many thanks. Suzi

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  9 месяцев назад +3

      Hi Suzi, great question. As a general rule nothing that stimulates cell proliferation should be used on people with cancer, which is where this recommendation comes from.
      That doesn't automatically make it dangerous, as cancer is a very broad term and it depends heavily on the location, the type, the stage and so on.
      As it is impossible to answer that in a way that doesn't require in depth knowledge of the individual persons medical history, you give a general statement that, for further personalization, should be discussed with the individual health care provider.
      If you are not aware yet that you have cancer, which is obviously a possibility for everyone, it is a personal decision. You can chose to live your live as if you had cancer or as if you were healthy, and make your decision accordingly. I personally don't worry about potential things inside my body, but wouldn't use it on my face if my skin had a lesion that I am not sure is fine, at least not unless I had it checked.
      Does that help?
