    8:05 TL;DR
As doctor passionate about skin care that delivers results and about well aging, I want to help you quickly and efficiently pick a skin care regime that works, by explaining the science behind skin and by sharing quick product reviews.
I am a big believer that creating a skincare routine that targets your specific concerns is not a matter of your budget. There are many great affordable brands out there: The Inkey List, Good Molecules, Geek & Gorgeous or pixi skincare to name a few of my favorites, and if you know how to combine them, you are well on your way to healthy and happy skin.
Healthy and happy skin does not mean "flawless" - whatever that might be. I have been struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema (PIH and PIE) for most of my adult life, and it took me a while to figure out that gentle is key. I went through a retinol damaged skin barrier, acne flare ups and sun damage until I finally reached my happy place: With Tretinoin, sunscreen and of course a red lipstick!

Another great video - thank you Dr. Anne - I always appreciate your honesty and directness. I use an LED full body panel with a horizontal stand each day. That way I get the benefits of infrared and near-infrared light all over my body including my scalp (for alopecia) and facial skin. It definitely improves the microcirculation in my skin. It's also easy, relaxing and meditative while lying down.

Thank you for your insights Dr Anne. I agree that the combination of different methods probably has more effect as an anti aging regimen. And I can totally relate to loving taking care of my skin yet being a bit lazy to use devices lol. I am using the TriPollar Stop Vx (RF + DMA) but I don't use it enough because it takes a bit of time and use of conduction gel required. I did notice some very subtle tightening results from it. I have used a professional LED device a few times a week at my former job that had such a device (Lumi8 from Aesthetic Solutions / Mesoestetic) and the results were very good, bright and glowing skin. I'm going to buy the Omnilux soon because it's more convenient to use and hopefully that will motivate me to use the RF device more often :) I'm interested in the RF device that you are using though. Have a great weekend ❤

I will review it once I finished at least eight weeks of treatment. From what I have read the principle is the same as it is with the TriPollar though.

These reviews are so helpful. I have always struggled with large pores so I’ve been contemplating buying the Medicube device you mentioned. Would you say there are any benefits to starting to use these devices earlier, especially in terms of stimulating collagen production? Or would it be better to wait a few more years? I just turned 25.

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  10 месяцев назад +1

That is hard to say and largely depends on where you are at in your life and how the rest of your routine looks like. Your mid-20s are the time the loss starts to kick in - on average. It might be later for you or even earlier if you are a smoker/ sun worshipper.
But the effect these devices have is always minimal, so before investing a large amount of money most people in their mid 20s don't have, you should look at your lifestyle and the rest of your routine to see if there is something else you can improve.
These devices are for those that have the money to spare and everything else in place already, not a first line necessity.

I also love the Ussera and the red light therapy mask. I only use the Ussera once a week, whereas I use the mask 2-3 times a week, but the effects are very obvious. One tightens more and the other seems to smooth more, and add glow. I just bought the Ziip today and am looking forward to adding micro/nanocurrent for muscle toning.
I do use tretinoin most days, with glycolic acid instead once or twice a week. That probably makes the biggest difference, though red light comes a close second. I also have a couple other Medicube products, the one for micro 'needling' with air and the one for deep product penetration. Both are effective at what they claim, though not significantly enough for me to use them most weeks. I may go back to the penetration one soon. I also recently bought a Dr. Pen and intend to try to fit that into my routine for once a month.
Thanks for your videos. You've helped me feel more confident about my choices, including everything I'm leaving out.

I have those 2 devices as well as the Ussera. I find them all to be effective at what they claim to do, but the Ussera definitely has the biggest visible impact. But the Booster most definitely does boost the power of whatever product you use. This is most obvious when I first started using it with tretinoin at just .025%. It was like I was suddenly using .05%! I got used to it though and just considered that I went up in dosage strength without needing to change my Rx to permanently go up. Now I'm at .05% tret regularly, but when I use the Booster it's like getting a temp bump up to .1% (which I don't think I'll ever permanently change my Rx to be). The airshot I notice the least effect with. I've done Quire microneedling at .25 mm depth and that minor effect was still more than the airshot. Seems to have the equivalent effect of maybe more like .1 or .15mm microneedling would. So something, some smoothing and glow, but very little and not worth the bother, as evidenced by the fact I've only used it about 10 times in a year. Hope this helps.

Hi Dr. Anne, I am your age and besides a good skincare routine (sunscreen everyday, vit. C, retinal, copper peptides etc.) I started using an LED mask (Omnilux) which has given me the same results that you mentioned from yours in a couple of months. I am also using a device for the eye area (Venus from Evenskyn), not sure how effective it is but it's relaxing and recently started using an EMS device (which is pretty intense I must say, but it's too early to judge). And I have also ordered a high frequency device (one of those "mini-HIFU" things). I am also interested in the Ziip and Rf, but all these combined will amount to a looong, long routine 😅 (I'm also doing yoga/facial massage). I think for me it's important because I'm going through a very stressful time in my life and I need to take some time for self-care.
I have also started going to a clinic where I'm doing some treatments (mesotherapy, something combining Rf and EMS, professional LED therapy and I want to try their oxygen therapy as well).
I have always looked much younger than my biological age (even now people think I'm in my late 20s), so I'm trying to preserve what I have and also focus on something else than the stress...
I've also started a pretty complex supplement regime since I'm having some health issues.

I haven't tried any kind of red light therapy, but I will say that my microcurrent device has done WONDERS for my frown lines. I'm using the Foreo Bear which, tbh, is difficult to use and very intense, that being said I notice a difference right away when I use it. With consistent use I find I frown a lot less often and the lines between my eyebrows look noticeably better for longer. Microcurrent is difficult, but once I got my face where I wanted it to be with every day use, I started spacing out the treatments more and that makes reaching for it only a few days a week much more manageable. (If I could buy a different microcurrent device I would want something a little smaller than the bear just so I could get into smaller areas of my face). Keep in mind, I also use the Foreo Luna every day when I cleanse my face and that alone helped a lot. I have a routine, but these two devices were defo a game changer for me, especially because I knew I couldn't afford botox every 6 months.

    • @DoctorAnne

Bestellen ja, sie zeigen auch den Preis in € an, wenn man das einstellt. Es ist aber möglich, dass da noch Zoll dazu kommt.

Lack of facial volume is not due to muscle loss It is from fat repositioning or fat loss in the face. Also loss of collage and elastin. These are primary reasons. Not muscle. Microcurrent is temporary plumping of muscles with no long term benefits.

I don't disagree with you completely, loss of muscle is surely not the main driver in facial aging. There is muscular atrophy though, so in a well rounded concept microcurrent might offer additional effects.

I agree, the results are minimal compared to the effort.
