    I had a full thickness cornea transplant about 2 years ago…I have had to take steroid eye drops daily since (which is bad for your eyes)otherwise I would start rejecting cornea within days… I have started using red light for skin without goggles (smallish mito table panel) and have drastically reduced my need for steroid eye drops… as a very welcome side effect .

    Ok, so watching as an optometrist at the innovative end of my profession, I am impressed. My practice routinely uses IPL (intense pulsed light) to treat the inflammatory side of dry eye and is shortly to commence photobiomodulation for retardation and potential improvement of dry macular degeneration. Our training is that pulsed equals goggles and no rejuvenating serums beforehand. After the age of 40 our retinal photoreceptor mitochondria (cellular batteries is a good analogy) just do not “hold the charge” ( think electric vehicles, worthless after a number of years as the batteries are so degraded. Blue light is literally a killer, it speeds up this degradation. Never use blue light therapies near your eyes!! Your excellent piece fleetingly refers to blue but please highlight this. We get so much exposure in our daily lives that we should all wear both a uv block and a blue blocking filter in our spex.

      REF: Rosacea. I am 66. I discovered an easy solution to help my rid rosacea in my 40's. I keep a box of baking soda in my shower, sprinkle about 1/2 teaspoon in my hand and GENTLY rub on the rosacea foe about 15 seconds. I did this everyday till it cleared up (less than a week) and now do it about twice a week for maintenance. No, it does not tear my skin. I have suggested to many and it works!!

    For the past two months, I've been using a red light therapy device from Future Form Official. Being in my late 50s, I decided to try it primarily for joint pain relief and to improve my skin tone. I dedicate 20 minutes each day to it, focusing on my face, neck, and upper chest. To my surprise, my chronic migraines have almost vanished, allowing me to sleep peacefully through the night. Additionally, my skin has become more radiant and youthful-looking. Despite my age, I've always been complimented on my skin, and this therapy has enhanced it even further. The experience is incredibly soothing, and I wholeheartedly recommend red light therapy for its diverse benefits.

    This was great info plus a refresher. I’ve been using Omnilux face & décolleté masks for about 2 yrs, 3x/wk, for 20 min. per treatment. I called Omnilux in 2022 & asked if one 20 min. vs. one 10 minute treatment done 3x/week was ok & was told it was just fine so I have been doing it that way since my purchase. Results have been finer skin pores, a decrease in (but not completely gone) hyperpigmentation/sun spots. LED has definitely been a great addition to my skincare routine!

The import and export of molecules in the cell is a highly regulated process involving lots of different receptors. How does swelling of the cell induce cellular uptake?

      The light is pulsing, so it's not the cell swelling after treatment. Although I would like to see the difference in tested cell uptake measured between constant red light treatment vs pulsed treatment. Perhaps there's more swelling pist treatment, leading us to believe it received more benefits.

      I've read that red light therapy is used for fat loss, Google it, and there is a risk of losing fat in the face although I don't know if this is true. I probably only use 3 times a week for shorter period of time and when you're not accessing daylight. I've just bought a small once I have no idea yet if it's going to be useful, I'm hoping my eyesight will improve, but I'm still on the fence about red light therapy until I see evidence personally.

    YES!!!! Bring her back. I saw her on another RUclips video last year and learned so much about pulsed red light. I've not invested in any red light mask because no one had a pulsing one. I'm so excited about this Maysama mask. However, I also need something for my "turkey neck" and was hoping they would come out with a neck and decolletage light therapy too. ??? My skin and neck are looking way better with just using Dr. Pen and ZIIP. But now it's time to invest in the red light therapy. This video is even better than the one I saw last year. Thank you!!! 🥰

    Curious if the man that "wrote the paper on green tea and red light" is the man that reported his experience with green tea bags and red light? I am hoping there are actual legit studies and papers written that are a bit more robust.

    Well made and very informative. These are questions I have had for a year or two, especially whether it's necessary to cleanse the face before LED (because doing so always dries me out too much so I find it best to not cleanse in the morning before LED).

    It’s interesting hearing a different perspective as Bev (who I think is lovely) is the first person I’ve heard to suggest serums pre-LED. I’m still baffled as to why she suggested using L ascorbic acid BEFORE LED when this serum is known to be unstable and sensitive to light, which can cause it to degrade quickly so I can’t follow her logic on that one. She also mentions using SPF
    but isn’t clear whether she’s suggesting to use it before using LED light or after. Common sense is to use it after as we should all be using SPF, but not before you use LED light as SPF can block the light from penetrating your skin. I’m sure that’s what she meant but I wish she’d clarified this point. Her serum may be designed to work great with LED or with the specific Maysuma LED device, but I think she is definitely in the minority here with regard to suggesting using serums, especially light unstable L-ascorbic acid, prior to using red light. I am purchasing an Omnilux light panel that can go on different areas of the body, so not using a facemask or the particular brand LED device shown in the video and the panel recommends using on a clean face so I will follow those directions. Probably best to follow the directions for your particular device. I’ve yet to hear any devices suggest using products on your face with the exception of this video. Who knows? Maybe using serums pre-LED will turn out to be best practices but until then, I will stick to the recommendations of using red light on a clean face.

    There are a lot of affordable LED masks on Amazon. So long as the wavelength is in the right range, they should be just as effective as the more expensive masks no? 630-700nm ?

    ??? I completely didn't understand her answer about not wearing goggles. I thought her answer was going to be about possible damaging the eyes or something. What in the world did she mean about sending signals to the brain???

    • @susannovak8263
      @susannovak8263 7 месяцев назад

      It’s really very simple to understand. With static light, she said it’s not necessary to wear goggles. With pulsed light, because the skin on your eyelids is so thin, you can still see the light pulses that send signals to the brain which could be problematic for some people.
