The caffeine serum helped remove a red broken capillary at the upper cheek. It was there for years and within a week it closed… so for me it was worth it. It was an unexpected benefit.

You asked if anyone has a positive story for the caffeine serum- I do but I don’t use it under my eyes. I follow a tip from Cassandra Bankson’s channel and use it all over my face to take down redness- works a treat on my oily rosacea 50 something skin! I also use the niacin serum sparingly on my extremely oily eyelids - forget who I got that tip from - it saved me years of misery as my natural oils would run i to my eyes and sting them (yes they were that bad and it wasn’t skincare as I avoided anything that might have caused that).

Maybe Inkey List, No 6, BYOMA, La Roche-Posay, Beauty Pie, Cerave... perhaps some higher end such as Dermalogica, Clinique or brands known forctheir makeup that also offer skincare (EXPENSIVE SKINCARE😢)such as YSL and Lancome

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stop referring to products as this one and that one. Yes you name the product when you first start to talk about it, but then never say it again and I don't understand why. We're so busy listening to everything you have to say about it, we don't necessarily remember the name, so please repeat it at least once in the middle and again at the end. Thank you

I hate the fact that there's so much dishonesty on other influencer platforms that causes people to come over to RUclips and accuse some of the most honest creators of being dishonest. I don't get "upset" about anything, but I do get annoyed by people accusing my favs of lying. Just bcz a certain platform is oversaturated by dishonest creators doesn't make everyone dishonest. I'm sorry you've had to deal with that kind of rap (altho I have no doubt you can handle it 😂) I, for one, trust your content as if it was coming from a dear friend. ❤. Thank you for sharing your takes on The Ordinary. They've had a great run of releases recently. I second your opinion on NMF with Phytoceramides. It is great on my dry skin. I tried their argeriline (sp) product and was not impressed 😐. Maybe I used it wrong, but I found it dried out my skin and made my lines and wrinkles more prominent in appearance. Soon as I discontinued using my skin went back to normal. I just recently ordered their peptides. I'm excited to try, and I use their squalane with my hair gel/curl creme, and it helps soften my gray hair. 😊

I use the acid with my Maelove 0.11 retinal at night and with my vitamin c during the day. Neither have caused any irritation. As for the primer, I followed Wayne Goss's suggestion. At the beginning I didn't fancy it but I tried it on Summer days and it's the only one which keeps my make up in place and longer. Highly recommended! Pycnogenol I mixed it with my liquid Vitamin C + Resveratol + ferulic acid from the same brand. LOVING IT!

Totally agree with the retinoids in squalene. But it took me 3 bottles (1%, 2%, 5%) to realize that they are bad 😅 Probably because squalane was so hyped up. Then I switched to the emulsion and my skin got so much better! And I decided to not repurchase the Caffeine + EGCG also - not sure that it is doing something for me and it is not worth the money. Thank you for the reassurance that I am making a good decision 🙂

  • @albertqhumperdinck
    @albertqhumperdinck Месяц назад

I agree completely about hating the caffeine solution, it didn`t dry me out necessarily but the formula was SO TERRIBLE that I would have to wash everything off and start my entire routine over again. It would cause any and everything to pill to the point where there was no point in applying my other products, they would just come right off again! Usually If I don`t love a product I`ll use it on my hands or chest so it doesn`t go to waste, but this one went literally into the garbage with zero regrets.
On the other hand, I ADORE the balancing and clarifying solution and will keep purchasing it in perpetuity. I like The Ordinary generally speaking, its a great way to figure out which ingredients are a good fit when one is starting out with skin care, and then maybe moving on to more elegant formulations with those ingredients once we become a bit more sophisticated. That balancing and clarifying solution, however, thats it! It`s perfect the way it is! I`m hooked!

Clinique daily clarifying lotion 1.0 (alcohol free) is a beautiful daily toner that closes pores & the Dermalogica daily microfoliiant a few times a week us also wonderful. They both have bha (salicylic acid) but are not drying & smooth out the skin. Cant say any ingredient has gotten rid of my "orange peel texture - mostly rom fraxel laser damage), but these products help close the pores, exfoliates & smooths out the skin greatly. makeup application has improved a lot due to these products.

Hi, I would like to know please is the niod a lot better then the ordinary? When it comes to the copper peptides? I have the ordinary at the moment but would u recommend the niod if I wanted to up the game? Also I am very confused on which vitamin C to try is there any good recommendations for vitamin C I think I’d prefer a cream type over a liquid serum? Enjoyed watching this video loved it. I have a lot of ordinary products and most of mine I use are in your best category xx thank you 😊

Cosrx has an good vitamin c serum. It needs to be kept in a cool place. Peter Thomas Roth has a very good vit. C serum. It is a stable version of vit. C. But it is very expensive.

The early products were not elegant at all but they were the first to bring transparency to ingredients. I remember an interview with Brandon before he died about a grey hair treatment. I wish he was still here 😢

THE ORDINARY Soothing & Barrier Support Serum is absolutely ghastly, I was left with an angry red rash all over my face, neck and upper chest. I felt like I was burning up. I had to wash it off after a few minutes. The rash on my face had improved by morning but rash on my upper chest tooks weeks to heal

I do like the caffeine from the ordinary not so much as an eye serum but for example I had Shingles on my face and still eight months on I still have nerve problems. Anyway I do get a swelling on my eye and the Caffeine does reduce it completely. Also I do like the hyaluronic acid new new serum.

Gemma, are you suggesting using both “Buffets”, the copper all over, the non-copper for under eyes? And can it be used on the mobile lid as well?

No not at all. One or the other is fine, and both can be used around the eyes x

The multipeptide + copper is designed to be an "all in one" serum -- cleanse, serum, moisturize and done! It's my lazy routine -- and I've seen great results from it. It's super gentle too.

The Ordinary's Lactic Acid serum would be the thing to try if you like GG. Lactic Acid is the key ingredient in GG, so try that serum and see if you like the results while saving about $100.

I actually have had a good experience with the caffeine serum. While there is no ingredient that will get rid of my dark circles (they're genetic) I have had really good depuffing results with it. I actually now use it in combo with the dr. Idriss depuffer as ive found alone, the serum is good for depuffing but not so good for my redness, whereas the depuffer has been amazing for my redness, but isn't quite as effective in depuffing my undereye as the serum is. Thankfully I havent encountered any skin dryness with the caffeine serum either.

I am also sensitive to caffeine (can't drink caffeinated coffee) and had a similar experience. And it depuffed nothing,

I’ve started using the Caffeine solution, not seeing any reduction in puffiness (the only reason I wanted it for) and I don’t understand why it’s a 30 ml bottle rather than 15 ml like Pycnogenol (love), considering how little is used.
