      Yeah, stones are low key more useful than they first appear. There’s the obvious use of singling our targets from a group, breaking yokai horns and destroying their ki, also one eye yokai blinks for a short moment if you throw a stone at them as they wipe their eye. It’s not as pronounced as shooting them in the eye with a arrow or gun, but it’s easy to pull off, and gives you just enough time to load a good attack up or heal.

    The throwing stone thing is legit. Every Yokai (or most) have a weakness spot. You can easily see those weaknesses as it glows yellow and they're actually fragile, so hitting it with stone or arrow will greatly damage its Ki.
    As for Enki (the monkey demon), its weakness is its horn.

  • @MrMannerless
    @MrMannerless 4 года назад +2

    It’s not throwing the stones, it’s shattering the horn. This is why its a very good idea to start fights against yokai with the high stance, which usually has a vertical attack, shattering their horn, such as heavy attack on switchglaive. In Nioh 1, this would deplete an enemy and drop them to the floor for a finisher, however in Nioh 2 it deals a large blow to their ki instead, needing a little more effort to bring them down. You can achieve this with anything, firearms, spells, attacks, whatever shatters the horns. Horns do not grow back, so capitalise while you can.

    • @GamingWithAbyss
      @GamingWithAbyss  4 года назад

      yeah I noticed in the first game they would drop to the floor but I guess it didn't register that would actually break their horns with a rock

    At 15:50 - you broke its horns, hence the KI damage. In the first game, if you did it correctly you can knock some Yokai down (ALL of its Ki) and get some massive damage in before they even touch you. Of course, you had to line up your shot correctly to actually hit the horns. You can do the same with weapons, bows and cannons but there's something satisfying about using a rock to punch out a demon's horns and cripple it lol.

    All useful and correct but, in my opinion about the weight percentage, the big difference between blue and green is that in blue you dodge a little bit faster than in green. The ki regeneration is the same but the speed of the dodge is a bit quicker and probably longer, like you can dodge some centimeters more far.

    • @GamingWithAbyss

    Theres a spirit called tengen kujaku, you'll get the spirit fairly early in the game, (by region 3 at the latest I think)
    It has treasure, enemy, and kodama sensor built in to it so you dont have to have it on equipment.
    Also it has stance based amrita absorption. If you are in low stance, you will get faster ki recovery. Mid stance will increase your defence, and high stance increases damage and this lasts a decent amount of time.

    You talked about Kodama and Treasure Sensor in the video but you didn't mention "Enemy Sensor" which is invaluable for me, to avoid ambushes and such (especially all the mobs that hang from the ceiling and fall down on you to deal huge damage). I actually also use Amrita Sensor to easily find all the lootable corpses and similar things. So, with all 4 Sensors equiped all the time (although I usually remove my Kodama Sensor accessory when I'm not in a mission where Kodamas are hidden), I can make sure I don't miss anything (I just need to check that my radar has no dots left on it).
    I have my sensors on both accessories, one on my Spirit Guardian and one on a Soul Core attuned to my Spirit Guardian. I saw that there's a Spirit Guardian with all 4 Sensors packed in a neat little package (which would free space for better accessories and Soul Core) but it's not a Feral type and I kinda got used to the Dodging Burst Counter of that Spirit Guardian type. It took me a while to figure out how it worked but once you get the hang of it, it's great, because you can use it to Counter, but you can also use it to get out of the way very quickly even when you're out of Ki. It's the same as what you show in the video with the Brute counter when your Ki is depleted, but it lets you move away at the same time.

      With the Weight tip, it would be best to show how your armor weight could effect the amount of Ki lost when attacking/blocking. With lighter weight, Attacking drains less Ki but drains more on Blocking. While with heavier Weight, Attacking drains more Ki and Blocking drains less. 👌🏿

    The rock did so much damage to that enemies ki because it broke its horn. You can beak the horns off if every Yokai that has them to do a lot of ki damage. I use the Odachi in high stance and it’s an overhead swing that pretty much always hits the horns. You can probably do it with a lot of other weapons too, even ranged weapons.

    Haha nice guide, just a heads up tho, the only reason the stones occasionally reduce ki, is because you're breaking the horn on whatever you're hitting. If a demon is giving you trouble, you can often pull out your bow/musket and shoot off the horn prior to even engaging it. This will make is extremely easy to deplete its Ki. Another thing, since I rarely hear people mention it, but if you do a burst counter on a demon and they have ZERO ki left, you can press triangle to grapple them and do your oni grapple without having to use your ult or whatever its called. The grapple damage is mental btw.

    When you get the running water perk, don't let it be the only way you ki pulse as it uses additional ki although it does give some back. Also sometimes you won't be able to get a full ki pulse without taking a ton of damage. I'm learning that now. Basically between ki and health, health is always more important, don't get hit because you are tunnel visioning on your ki pulse timing.

    Maybe been said already but correction on stones. They’re damage to health and Ki are minimal and just distractions, if you hit their weak point with anything then they’ll suffer massive Ki damage. In the Yoki case breaking their horn even with a stone will cut their Ki by 80% of max I believe?

  • @TheRealTiburon
    @TheRealTiburon 4 года назад +3

  • @crestfallenspaniard7079
    @crestfallenspaniard7079 4 года назад

    You forgot to mention that the heavier you are, swinging your weapons costs more Ki. But also you lose less Ki when you get hit (AKA Ki damage), you can poise tank through most attacks (Toughness stat is poise. The higher, the less chances you have of getting rattled when you get hit) and you spend less ki when defending, meaning that heavier wheight (yellow) is better for blocking and builds that go heavy on the defense with weapons such as Dual Katanas.
    Also, if you want sensors, just equip Tengen Kujaku, the first Guardian Spirit you get from Nobunaga. In Nioh 1 you got it by the end of the game but now you get it very early on. It was hands down the best in the first game due to buffing you when you absorb amrita (increase attack on high stance, increase defense on mid stance and increase ki recovery on low stance) and increasing elemental weapon buffs, but also it gave you treasure/amrita/enemy/Kodama sensor, making it the best Guardian Spirit for exploration.
    Very important, some NPC bloody graves (Or dev, like you called them) drop unique gear that you can only obtain by fighting them. It's usually unique styled helmets like the Dragon Bridge Helmet or the Elephant Trunk Kabuto.
    Mujinas (the mimics) give you 2 emotes. Overjoyed if you imitate their emote and frustration if you do not.
    And all yokai enemies have a weak point. It's usually the horns but for example, with the Gakis, it's the belly and with Tessos is the tail (Always look for the yellow glowing part). In Nioh 1 knocking out the horns of a yokai would instantly down them but now it cuts down their ki a lot. And you can cut off their horns with regular attacks as well. Begin in high stance to strike at their heads and you will see it will work.

  • @Anamnesis010
    @Anamnesis010 4 года назад

    Enemies that have horns can have them broken, and they take massive ki damage when that happens. Throwing a rock was an easy way to do it in the first game, as well as high stance attacks, but you actually have to hit the horn dead on or it won't work. Yoki, Enki and Yamaba? (the oni lady with the giant knives) are vulnerable to this. Gozuki is as well but I've done that mostly by chance.

    • @GamingWithAbyss
      @GamingWithAbyss  4 года назад

      yeah they changed it up from the first game and they no longer fall on the ground. But it just never registered that it actually broke their horns. I figured a rock wouldn't do that but I guess in this game it does

  • @ThatBlueScrew
    @ThatBlueScrew 4 года назад

    Another thing to the KI usage in different weight classes. Not only does it cost more KI to move with more weight, it also slows down recovery.
    So use those KI pulses! They were nice in Nioh 1, they're a must in Nioh 2
