Small tip for sneaking around, it worked in Nioh 1 and it works here too - hold the block button and walk up to the enemy. You literally tiptoe around when you do this. Also works great for narrow ledges bc it makes you walk in a straight line. Still gotta get the sneak attack skill tho, just dont want the tiger scroll, such a waste.
Here's some additional tips: 1) Burst Counters, each have their advantages, and some are more valuable in certain situations than others. I would recommend either Brute or Feral as starter guardian spirits as their Anima bonus is more useful in the early game. 2) Soul Core typings can be changed by combining them with mortal soul cores of different types. In this way you can create a phantom type Ippon-Datara soul core. 3) Getting a headshot on an enemy prior to engagement is normally more advantageous than a sneak attack, and leave mortal enemies prone. It's also the best way to grab an enemy's attention and pull them from patrols. 4) Early on in the game, there's very little need to respec if you spread out your points for the initial few levels. Min-maxing is best saved for end-game. 5) Whetstones are a thing, if you have a large stack of them, don't hesitate to use them on your new shiny weapon. 6) I genuinely didn't know that, but there's honestly few instances where I need to pause in the middle of a fight. 7) The Dojo Missions needed to unlock skills are unlocked via story. Also, while the novice dojo missions are easy, they do get harder. 8) You can also get locks of hair you missed in a mission by playing as a visitor. Simply look up where the locks of hair are in that particular mission, and guide your quarry to them. When they loot the hairs, they will also drop for you. 9) Try to get quick winded recovery on a piece of gear and keep it through your playthrough via soul matching. You'll thank me later. 10) Sell blues, yellows, and whites; disassemble purples. Money is important for soul matching and forging. You'll also quickly get to a point where rarity and abilities on your armor are more important than anything else, and it's much easier to soul match a low level piece of gear with baller abilities than it is to play the rng slots to try and replicate it through forging.
Tip 10 in your comment is wrong Disassemble everything and forge the lower rank materials into the higher rank ones You can forge crafting mats from the lowest rarity (white) turning them into the highest rarity (purple)
@@faelock12 It's highly inefficient for early in the game. I've been tempering like a mad man and I still have around 200 pieces of normal umbracite. Money is more important than common smithing materials due to it being directly tied to leveling up your patronage levels. While it's true that you can forge multiple lower rarity materials into higher rated ones, you'd have to disassemble 350 white pieces of gear for a single purple rarity crafting material (35 yellows and 5 blues conversely). In fact, even the most valuable item you get via disassembling, Umbracite, is so easy to get by just breaking down purples that you'll be positively flooded for the whole game. I followed my own method and am not only swimming in crafting materials, but have the money to actually use them. Gold is still extremely important in the late game, and having a large quantity of it so you can temper what gear you find with better abilities is really the only way to succeed. Meanwhile, I've maybe forged a full set of gear once when jumping into Dream of the Strong, which was immediately replaced with 160 Divine gear I got off killing Revenants.

Also, whistle to get them to get out of chest form instead of opening and getting winded. Small thing, but it's annoying to get winded and panicking that something is going to 1 shot you
@@ChristopherRockhill yeah, they're called mujnas they're based off Japanese myths of mischivious badgers that copy people's movements. If you open a chest and one pops out, it'll copy your appearance, and you wait for it to do a gesture. Then, as fast as you can, do the same gesture back. If you succeed, it'll do a joyful hop up and down, wave, and drop the items. If you fail, either cause you were too slow, or did the wrong gesture, it'll do a tantrum like emote, stamping it's foot and stuff. It'll then fight you, and you need to kill it to get the stuff. Always try to emote it, because it can do all the stuff you do, it just has less health. Although: you WILL get a new gesture if you fight it. So it's worth doing once for the gesture.
When starting a new character I used to wait until "Manage Soul Cores" option was available before equipping a soul core. You don't need to wait, you can equip them as soon as you get 1 which is usually in the very 1st mission which gives a small damage boost.

@@AlexM-uq3cm We have a lot of builds that can help get started: nioh2.wiki.fextralife.com/Builds - I tried both kusarigama and dual swords at the start and they were pretty simple and fun
One thing I felt like wasn't explained clearly (or I just missed it) is how Yokai enemies have two Ki gauges. You need to blow through their first one to begin staggering them with attacks (at this point you can go on the offensive), and then depleting the second one lets you knock them down for a grapple.
Unless they changed it since the first game, you stop getting staggered by most normal attacks at exactly 200 (blue) toughness. Anything below that is completely unreliable and is mostly for reducing Ki damage on block, which begins at 100 (green) and scales up indefinitely. Your goal should be to remain at A agility, while reaching at least 200 toughness at some point. Higher toughness and defense if you can, but that's the minimum, and not an easy to reach baseline. You will likely be at B agility the first time you can realistically reach 200 toughness at best.
Here's a big tip if you play the PC version... If you die twice and fail to retrieve your soul. Press alt+F4 to exit the game immediately when you see the game-over screen. The game will not get a chance to save so you can start the game back up and try to get your soul back, this way you will never lose your experience points.
Best Advanced Tip : Yokai Weapons ( Corruption ) & Blessed Weapons ( Puritiy ) these weapons at all times they always debuff Yokai Enemies with certain Imbue ( In Nioh 2 if you debuff any Yokai Boss or Enemy twice , meaning anything like Weakness + Sloth or Corruption + Sloth or Corruption + Lightning debuff ) this will produce a 3rd Debuff called "Chaos Debuff/Element" As long as this Element is present on any Yokai Boss or Enemy or Humanoid.... their Whole Ki Bar will stop regenrate ( This also applies to the Yokai Realm Mechanic to all Yokai Bosses in this Game ) this is a pretty Advanced Tip for players in the middle of the Game like i am... Bear in mind that any 2 types of Debuffs still applies ( Even Poison + Paralysis , or Corruption + Poison , or Corruption + Fire Amulet ) 👍🏼 This is a hidden Element/Mechanic that is not Present in any Dojo or anything 🔥 Goodluck ( You can pretty much Delay any Boss Yokai Realm activiation for 10 seconds if you keep stacking this Debuff called "Chaos" it's indicated as this sign ♋ ) an upside Ying Yang debuff.... This debuff is very crucial against any type of Yokai or Yokai Bosses 👌🏼 Not that helpful i'd say against Humanoid Enemies... but it still makes the Job good & done ( Stopping your enemies Ki from Regenration could lead to Insane Damage )
It's not exactly 2 debuffs for chaos. It's 2 elemental-based debuffs, so only fire, water, thunder, purity and corruption count towards it with purity and corruption being mutually exclusive since they remove the other one when inflicted.
@@UmTalDeUmPH I think i saw a video , the youtuber said the Chaos will be present with any type of Debuffs.... but you're point is also right lol ( I didn't try it yet , but ill try it later when i get High Level in Nioh 2 )
@@omaralajmi1551 That's how Chaos works since they didn't change the trigger conditions from Nioh 1. I know because my build in Nioh 1 was very elementally focused because I liked denying yokai their ki bars.
@@UmTalDeUmPH Yeah... that's pretty cool , so even if i had a Yokai Weapon ( Corruption ) & if i imbue the weapon with a Lightning Talisman buff .... the Chaos will still debuff the Yokai's right ? Or does it Override the Curroption Imbue ?.... In Nioh 2 however there are the Yokai & Blessed weapons which comes into play ( Wether i buff them with Talismans or not ). I'm specfically asking this Question since i'm running a Magic Switchglaive Build with my Samurai character in Nioh 2
@@omaralajmi1551 whenever you apply a talisman on your weapon that adds a specific type of damage, any already existing damage type will be overwritten. But talismans also make the weapon deal quite a bit more elemental damage and buildup so if you have a corruption or purity weapon, for example, you'll have more than enough time to apply a fire/water/thunder debuff with the talismans before purity wears out.
Never played a nioh game in my life. Decided to give nioh 2 a try. I've gotten all achievements for games like bloodbourne, sekiro and dark souls games. But I've got to say I'm having difficulty adjusting to niohs combat it's way more complex. Is it just me lol? I've played it for like an hour today since buying it but hopefully tomorrow I can pick it up. Guess I'm going dojo too to get them skills.
Nioh combat is indeed a lot more complex than souls. Your build matters a lot more too and you are expected to mix some omnyo and ninjutsu and not just focus on melee. Take your time and you’ll get the hand of it, or try out one of our builds
Jeez am I the only one that genuinely enjoys the Brute BC (Burst counter)?? The demon in me pimping slapping the fuck out of enemies to interrupt their "red glowing" moves is so hilarious and so good!!
I really hope the PC port runs better with NVIDIA cards. I had to stop my Nioh playthrough because it caused crazy overheating and slo-mo issues on my laptop (and my Xbox controller broke). I can run graphically similar games, and those much more intensive, with no issues. But Nioh on PC made my laptop feel like a bomb even when playing on a cooling pad with the heating off in the winter...
Is the feral kind a special one or is it one you can pick at the beginning of the game. I’m guessing the blue demon/ yellow bird you can pick. I like how that one looks.
The coop is confusing me...how does it decide where my blue "stone" is down? Can you choose what area you want to coop? Or you just go back to starting area and zone in and wherever it puts you it puts you?
Not in one go, you load into each mission and then summon then at the shrine, costing an ochoko cup each time. Other than that, yea you can coop the entire game :)
@@Kanosirus not really. You can instead do the entire game apart from the first mission from the Torii Gate. That gives both players progress for the missions.
I come from a dark souls and bloodborne universe, where every skillpoint MATTERS very much, and now Im asked to choose a guardian spirit, the red one gives me STRENGTH and DEX or whatever, as I remember the blue one YOU are suggesting gives magic or somethinglike that?! How is magic increas helping me as a dual wielding dexterity based char? I need to understand that
Magic and jutsu both have multiple buffs that benefit any build. Points in their main stat increase your capacity up to level 30. So its eventually reccomended to get both to 30 at some point. Status effects are also extremely effective. And applying any 2 magic effects at once can inflict "confusion" (or better translated as disorder or chaos). Which is a massive damage bonus. For reference btw the magic effects are Purity (lowers enemies stamina) Corruption (life drain) Scorched (DoT) Saturated (20% more damage ) Electrify (a slowdown). I know i know. A year late. Its more for the newbies to come
For what I've seen so far you can raise the lvl of weapons. Not like the souls game but if you find a weapon early on that you like you can keep raising its lvl so you can keep using it
So I played Co-op with a friend but none of our progress saves such as opening gates, finding shrines etc (we’re struggling to beat it lol). I have not played solo yet. Is there a way to get the progress to save on coop?
In the item description just below the picture of the item there are 3 little bell shapes stacked up if only 1 is highlighted is light, 2 medium, etc..
How about, how does the game decide your skill level? I mean, I'm a pretty good player (I'd say I'm a 4 unless my mood/concentration is poor), but the best the game gives me is a 2 at times (I see this when placing Jaspers). It literally makes ZERO sense and I can't seem to find anyone else mentioning it anywhere.
I have no idea what this number score is, But the game doesn't decided your skill level. It throws you in and you're expected to lose and learn. I mean, they drop this big ass Gezuki boss that will one shot you (two if you get lucky) in the first level of Nioh 2 lol.
I yesterday tried out nioh 2 and i played the first one quite a lot, i didn't like nioh 2 as much as the first one because of the first boss but when i killed the second boss i started to like it a lot more
Cazali Eiben honestly I’ve heard the 3 yokai forms are easiest depending on the player. The others don’t seem harder tbh I wouldn’t worry about it too much
Hi Anybody knows if the roll/dodge on the high stance has some kinda longer invisible frame somewhat. Like maybe sometimes its better to roll on high stance to counter a certain enemy or boss atttack. Althou switching from stance still aint nautral for me. Especially cuz i start with teh Switchglaive
Use odachi for awhile as your main weapon. You will then accumulate odachi points. Use this method on each type. You can use it in dojo over and over if you want to farm weapon points. Hope this helps.
Biggest frustration for me, on my 1st playthrough, was KI management. Fighting an enemy who suddenly farts out a puddle of corruption which leaves your KI low or zero was very very frustrating. Even normal enemies can turn the tables on you pretty quick. Barrier talisman is the answer, but it took me a long while to find that. Using purification helps too, but I didn't understand that in my 1st time through.
@Shawn T Williams Powerlifter "if you want to use speccs that relies on blocking alot you will want to use heavy armor, if you want to have a combination of blocking and dodging you will use medium armor, and if you wanna relie primarily on dodging you want to use light armor" if that goes without a saying filler info i dont know what is
Also i cant tell if you joke or not but armor isnt the most important skill, sure it can be but that something that your gameplay and skills/specc will decide for you (imma fast roller low armor user for life, so for me good ki flow is king)

@@AlexM-uq3cm We have a lot of builds that can help get started: nioh2.wiki.fextralife.com/Builds - I tried both kusarigama and dual swords at the start and they were pretty simple and fun
@@Fextralife alright man I’ll look into it .. thanks
One thing I felt like wasn't explained clearly (or I just missed it) is how Yokai enemies have two Ki gauges. You need to blow through their first one to begin staggering them with attacks (at this point you can go on the offensive), and then depleting the second one lets you knock them down for a grapple.
Great advice thank you and just wanted to ask if i should offer all the equipment im not using anymore in the shrine or keep it?
Unless they changed it since the first game, you stop getting staggered by most normal attacks at exactly 200 (blue) toughness. Anything below that is completely unreliable and is mostly for reducing Ki damage on block, which begins at 100 (green) and scales up indefinitely. Your goal should be to remain at A agility, while reaching at least 200 toughness at some point. Higher toughness and defense if you can, but that's the minimum, and not an easy to reach baseline. You will likely be at B agility the first time you can realistically reach 200 toughness at best.
I invested heavily in magic in the beginning, unlike in the first Nioh, made things easier.
Are the soul cores dropped by bosses random or a true drop per boss. Will I need to do multiple boss runs to acquire the specific boss soul core?
In the demo they were guaranteed but I don't know if they have random bonuses
Jose Abel Gomez the bosses always dropped them for me in the demos as well, they probably did not change that
Here's a big tip if you play the PC version... If you die twice and fail to retrieve your soul. Press alt+F4 to exit the game immediately when you see the game-over screen. The game will not get a chance to save so you can start the game back up and try to get your soul back, this way you will never lose your experience points.
Or just use a summoner candle. The game gives you dozens of them
Feral was super fun in Last Chance. Replaying some Bloodborne until this drops.
I know the feeling
I feel like the snake boss from alpha is MUCH easier with feral guardian, im a big fan now
so toughness is like poise in ds?
Subscribing cuz I keep coming back here especially watching your sekiro videos lol
You aren't. It's unnecessarily complex. Wish it was more simple and solid mechanics instead of this
Jeez am I the only one that genuinely enjoys the Brute BC (Burst counter)?? The demon in me pimping slapping the fuck out of enemies to interrupt their "red glowing" moves is so hilarious and so good!!
Yeah brute counter is very satisfying. Counter the boss shift youkai beat the fuck out of him
That pause feature is God send.
should I finish Nioh 1 first? I played it back then but never finished it. It was good but some stuff in it was ehh.
Nioh 2 is completely different story wise.
You don’t necessarily need to beat Nioh 1 before 2 since it’s a prequel
I really hope the PC port runs better with NVIDIA cards. I had to stop my Nioh playthrough because it caused crazy overheating and slo-mo issues on my laptop (and my Xbox controller broke).
I can run graphically similar games, and those much more intensive, with no issues. But Nioh on PC made my laptop feel like a bomb even when playing on a cooling pad with the heating off in the winter...
Do you guys play the game in action or movie mode? Cuz it really looks bad and low res at action mode on standard ps4 :(
your video help me a lot to explain to my friends how this game work...
My issue with nioh is that you dont start making a solid build until like 100 hours into the game..
Man i can't wait it's really an amazing game
@Hollow Skull well I got it today
@Hollow Skull You know people played demos that were pretty similar to the full release right?
Hussain Ra's al_ghul I get to start playing in an hour!! I’m so hype I can’t contain it!
@@rocketscientist14 that's nice i hope you will enjoy it even more

Does this game release the 13th for PS4?
Yes
@@jonathancham7788 Thanks...I'm seeing all these walkthroughs and build tips videos and thought I missed the release or something
@@50StichesSteel nah normal peeps like us gets to wait until 13
Thank you. I'll be sure to follow your tips.
Does Levels 20-30 really help and give you breathing room against enemies
I notice in the beta that if a ally in coop use ninjustsu or onmyo magic you will get points , is it still the case or it wasn't intended ?
the most important thing is ki pulse
So new stuff to beat up Demons like a boss
Sweet *uses custom control scheme from Nioh* this is going to be fun
I have a question: Does spinning dragon hurt you or is this bug or glitch.
There are effect you can put on skills that make them hurt you. See if u did that
@@vVAstrAVv it was skill customization. I was losing health for increased damage during it activation.
@@TheUltrasora called it lol
Is the feral kind a special one or is it one you can pick at the beginning of the game. I’m guessing the blue demon/ yellow bird you can pick. I like how that one looks.
Yeah its the yellow bird from the beginning
i suck at this game but love it so much
Now the question is is sloth talisman as op as it was in the first game? 🤔
Don't think so, didn't feel like it was on the limited chance trials
03:08 motherf***er I was waiting for a mssion or something to pop up to teach me backstab, I didn't notice it in the menu.
The coop is confusing me...how does it decide where my blue "stone" is down? Can you choose what area you want to coop? Or you just go back to starting area and zone in and wherever it puts you it puts you?
frankie cutlass coop is done via torii gate. The stone is so players can summon an ai contrlled character of yourself
@@devilalastor3320 thank you! I managed to figure it out at this point.
Can u play coop from start to end?
Besides the 1st mission, yes.
For reference btw the magic effects are
Purity (lowers enemies stamina)
Corruption (life drain)
Scorched (DoT)
Saturated (20% more damage )
Electrify (a slowdown).
I know i know. A year late. Its more for the newbies to come
This will be handy to look back to in November when this game releases on PC.
Most of these things were available in the first Nioh as well.
its 10 tips not 10 changes boomer 🤷🤷
what you want him to do remake da game ? smh
Played through the last chance demo, pretty sure I'm prepared for at least the beginning.
what was the song at the end of the video?
Is there a way to upgrade weapons? Why isn’t it as simple as just going to a blacksmith and upgrade it to +2,+3 and so on?
For what I've seen so far you can raise the lvl of weapons. Not like the souls game but if you find a weapon early on that you like you can keep raising its lvl so you can keep using it
Weapon fusion and tempering
So I played Co-op with a friend but none of our progress saves such as opening gates, finding shrines etc (we’re struggling to beat it lol). I have not played solo yet. Is there a way to get the progress to save on coop?
Nope if your bar is empty in coop you need to restart the whole mission if you play solo you can take shortcuts and saves
How do you tell which armors are Heavy, Medium, or Light?
Nioh 1 they actually states that in the description but I’m not seeing it in Nioh 2
By the stat requirements. Skill/Constitution for Light, Strength/Constitution for Medium and Strength/Stamina for Heavy.
In the item description just below the picture of the item there are 3 little bell shapes stacked up if only 1 is highlighted is light, 2 medium, etc..
That oh sh;t button saved me thanks dog
My wife and I are making our characters now, so damn nice.
WILLIAM my characters already made thanks to beta and last chance data
I yesterday tried out nioh 2 and i played the first one quite a lot, i didn't like nioh 2 as much as the first one because of the first boss but when i killed the second boss i started to like it a lot more
PUT AT LEAST 15 POINTS IN HEART..NO MATTER WAT WEAPON YOU USE
DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO, IM GOING ALL STRENGTH
Tuan Tani calm down quackers
Very good tip. There’s a few skills that are basically mandatory to put some points into.
This is a Great tip! :)
komujimaru why is that?
I never would’ve thought a game could be so hard
How can i unlock the onmyo magic dojo Part?
Ok, i did the Mission with the serpent yokai Boss then it Was unlocked
A soulslike with a pause button? We're really in a new decade aren't we.
Lol sekiro has pause button
I keel dying, but I’m getting better. I love it.
Freaking burst counter it is easy to perform but I keep pressing R2 and X, I need to practice more
Which one is feral? The wolf?
I picked my guardian spirit in the demo purely because it was a wolf.
The bird one
@@eido4220 I guess I won't take the easy way then.
Cazali Eiben honestly I’ve heard the 3 yokai forms are easiest depending on the player. The others don’t seem harder tbh I wouldn’t worry about it too much
@@eido4220 I just wish the forms looked closer to their related spirit animal.
Best tip ist the one with the pause, i totally oversaw it :D
What can i do with extra equipment
i just started playing but i dont know how to leave the training grounds
Thanks for the pause screen info but everything else you said sounded like gibberish to a New player such as myself.
Invincibility Frames*
I had an early night so i could wake up early and play before work, spent all the time in character creation...
Lukai that’s a big oof and I feel like. A waste of time
I didn’t have to create a new character due to having beta and last chance data
Beat the game twice. Havent received any odachi skill points. What did i miss?
Use odachi for awhile as your main weapon. You will then accumulate odachi points. Use this method on each type. You can use it in dojo over and over if you want to farm weapon points. Hope this helps.
You finished the game without knowing that?
Biggest frustration for me, on my 1st playthrough, was KI management. Fighting an enemy who suddenly farts out a puddle of corruption which leaves your KI low or zero was very very frustrating. Even normal enemies can turn the tables on you pretty quick. Barrier talisman is the answer, but it took me a long while to find that. Using purification helps too, but I didn't understand that in my 1st time through.
soo going the way of my sempi honzo ...he was awsome and i love going ninja
I feel that the explanation of which armor you want with what playstyle was pretty much filler info :D haha
@Shawn T Williams Powerlifter "if you want to use speccs that relies on blocking alot you will want to use heavy armor, if you want to have a combination of blocking and dodging you will use medium armor, and if you wanna relie primarily on dodging you want to use light armor"
if that goes without a saying filler info i dont know what is
Also i cant tell if you joke or not but armor isnt the most important skill, sure it can be but that something that your gameplay and skills/specc will decide for you (imma fast roller low armor user for life, so for me good ki flow is king)
It definitely was
Good video.
Why pause the game when you can beat all the enemies in the map to make sure one doesn't sneak up on you right when you go to the main menu and you lose all your Amrita?
to take a piss ofcourse
Should I get this I mean I do rage n I surely will delete a game when I get pissed at it n never play it again but this just look like a really good game
This game came with my PS4 and I haven't even opened the plastic on
Boo this man
I bet you a thesis paper from PhD in Rocket Science would be easier to grasp.

Thanks for this☺️
I didn't know what the burst counter was and I killed that first big enemy thing without it. Wish I knew that
