I used Monroe quikstruts and changed my hub out at the same time while i was in there. I had a humming and hope that was it. Nope, rear axle bearings but at least it's done.
Thanks for taking the time to video this procedure for us! I have started hearing a popping noise on my passenger side when I turn left in my 2007 CVPI. Looks like it will be my turn in the barrel soon.
That looks fantastic, this help myself understand cost of having this done on 2010. Thank you for sharing the brand to buy. I take back what I said about Baylor / Aggie.
Good job daddy. I did my Struts both sides. High performance breaks Hubs. Front end work .2007,P71 115000.I feel for you I had a lift. Your bad. good job.
So at round minute 10:38 that piece you were taking off spins because it's literally just a ball and then a bolt and it's attached to that bar or link whatever you want to call it by a knuckle or joint so that's why it spins
from driver's seat the ride feels about the same - I can't tell a difference. But that's actually good because I liked the ride quality before the swap
Ok i was able to finally find all motorcraft replacement parts for my front and rear suspension except the loaded strut. I had a mechanic check my springs, and they said they are good, so i just went ahead and bought two motorcraft struts. What other harware do i need to buy for the strut since it wasn't a loaded one. Like i sai, my springs are still goo, so i dont need those? I wanted to try to go full motorcraf, and i already bought the struts.
you certainly can't go wrong spending the extra money on OEM and Motorcraft products. I've been very fortunate to have good luck with pretty much everything I've purchased
I took a photo of silver Vic (this one) and white Vic (still with stock) and to my naked eye they look the same. I also took a photo of silver Vic in same location that I took a prior photo. I'll post them on Instagram
That's why I prefer the 2002 suspension style, like mine. One nut on top, two bolts on the bottom and the shock falls right through the control arm. The spring that surrounds the shock stays put. Struts are the enemy of the people! Plus, I'm a cheap bastard and would never pay for quick struts. I transplant all my stuff onto the new naked strut.
it was a Waco PD traffic unit. During the time of its service we had several snow days where they salted the roads. That is my best guess as to why rust on a Texas vehicle

let us all know how it turns out when you get it fixed

and that's why I'll never be Hollywood Handy Dad
Well you are lucky, my strut mount bolts are frozen in as all hell
try spraying with some penetrating oil or a mix of acetone and transmission oil. Hopefully that will loosen them
why is the rotor all rusty /
