I always swap out the bearings and put in the Teflon washers. Like instantly. The smoothness of the Teflon is so nice. I deal with a ton of saw dust as a cabinet maker and I work carry my hinders so that’s main reason for swapping out the bearings.
Chris Sproles I feel like the Teflon works better with the dust. With for some reason Pb doesn’t last as long between needing to be cleaned and lubed compared to the Teflon. It just stays buttery smooth longer
I thought i had a 3 inch xm-18 coming but the guy couldn't handle the customs forms so i got a refund instead. So i can't get one ever, since they only seem to make 10 knives a year. 😡
When I first bought this knife I looked up reviews of it and Nick Shabazz says he thinks the PB washers are the perfect in between choice of the three. ✌
This is a Gen4 in the 3” version. The Gen6 applies to the 3.5”. No big deal of course but thought I would mention. Best to just call these tri-way it seems as it’s all pretty confusing.
Hey Rob! I’ve been rewatching all your videos and I bet you’ve been asked this a million times, but what angle do you typically throw on your traditionals? Thanks for your time! Respectfully, A longtime fan :)
I want one, too bad hinderer has no love for the left handed people. I can’t support someone who won’t even tap the other side so I can at least carry the thing in my left pocket.
I think the market cooled because production went up (after they opened the new factory). We're seeing the same thing with Strider right now. Production less than demand. The current Hinderers have looser tolerances than the old Gen 4s. Now you're buying ZT technology at a Hinderer price point--with the ability to change out your pivot. Great marketing, but you're not getting the same knife.
Been waitin for a pro-explanation on this thanks sir.

Teflon washers are seriously underrated.
Interesting you prefer those to the bronze

So good to see you doing a review! Still one of the best 😉
Thanks for the review Rob. Really like the Gen 6.
Nice video, thanks! I still think they need to fix the flipper tab..

Love your reviews! Keep up the great work my brother!
This is a great review.
Wow. The scales on the Gayle Bradley Folder are amazing.
Hey Rob- miss seeing your knife reviews! Thanks- enjoyed it!
I want a 3.0 I sold my 3.5
Great review Rob. Can't wait to get that sweet knife in my hands. 👊😎
The detent on the Gen 5 3.5”was very good, but the detent on Gen 6 on bearings is perfect.
My favorite knives
Who rocks PB washers on theirs ?

I do on my 3.5 xm18.
I would love to own a Hinderer, I just can't justify the cost.
True, but like he said think of it as a tool you will pass down to your kids. I don’t have one either, but maybe one day.
The 3" non flip gen 4 is EDC pocket perfection

3 inch Tri way is only GEN 4 not GEN 6,The 3 1/2 inch Tri way is on GEN 6.
Could someone explain the square recess under the clip for me? Is it for weight reduction?
That's the area where the framelock bends to create lock tension.

There's left handed XM-18s out there.
I think we are about due for another Traditional Knives Anthology..... Just sayin....
