Today is my day of thanks. There is not one knife in my collection that I’ve bought that I’ve not bounced off of your videos or slicey diceys. I appreciate your knowledge on the blade. When your dropping some CHANGE on a knife I want to know what I’m buying. I’m a shy stay at home dad but I feel it’s important to give thanks and credit where it counts. Thanks.
🤣 this is awesome cause I think I’ve done that with every knife I’ve ever bought! But ironically I’m interested in getting this. If I do get this I’ll watch 5-10 videos on it. 🤣
I do that too! Who doesn’t? I have learned that buying on impulse is about as good, and as much fun, as careful consideration! I HAVE, once or twice, regretted my impulsiveness…
Just got my first Eklipse. Holy cow it’s a nice knife. The ergos and action are phenomenal. I think I like it more than the XM-18…which feels weird to write since I love the XM-18 so much.
You have completely changed the way I look at Hinderer's. My first knife was a Kershaw Cryo and it kinda ruined the Hinderer experience for me and then hearing the stories about them not being able to flip really made me stay away till I started watching you. Now I'm already looking for my second XM-18!
In the past, whenever a Hinderer came up in a video I used to dismiss it out of hand without rhyme or reason but, as my taste evolves I have to say that the eklipse has that `gateway drug‘ appeal to it that inevitably has to be looked into. I’m definitely going to have to save my pennies and invest in one (or two or three 😄) for the collection. Thanks for the video 👍
The Jurassic also uses T6 screws, and that is the most recent (Tri-Way) version! These are (relatively) big, hard-use knives. Why can’t they have big, hard-use screws?
I like the Eklipse. I like knives that can be described as “extremely comfortable!” I have a Jurassic, which is similar, but broader (what I describe as a “humpback” shape), making it even easier to grip in a man’s hand. I also have an XM-18 3.0, which I like very much, but not because of its action (which is slow) or blade (a reverse tanto “Skinner”), but the fact that it is a perfect Hinderer, with the milled face-scale, in a relatively tiny package. I am coming to like Hinderers quite a lot. I might have to get another…
My front site adjustment tool for the ar-15 fits the back pivot on my xm18 3.5 and 3.0 that's what I been using. Some of my site adjustment tools have 4 prongs. So I just bent two of them out you only need two prongs to adjust you site anyway. Thought xm18 was a more tactical knife because of that lol ...
I just want you to know that I cut my thumb open while watching this video. As far as things to do while watching knife videos goes, that's just the circle of life.
Are the screw heads on the scales really Torx? I havent had a Hinderer in a long time but u remember them being hex/Allen head. Maybe this is new for the tri-way knives?
I've been debating on an XM-18 (3.5") or XM-24, and even Eklipse for a while now. If the Eklipse came out with the fullered spear I probably get that. A new blade profile even better. Good review, 👍
4” is my personal standard, 3.875 i think is where i draw the line. Although i found the xm24 extremely attractive, the finger choil was a turn off for me. I’ve been hoping knife influencers convince makers to make larger knives. I live in California and exercise my right to carry a larger blade. I edc a cold steel recon 1 spear point s35vn. Eklipse with a four inch blade, in the words of Dirty Harry make my day.
Why is it that the halftrack is so highly reviewed, but popularity as an EDC doesn’t seem to follow? I find it to be way more practical than a XM-18 for daily use.
Great review as always. Have you ever noticed detent pressure after extended amounts of flipping due to wearing of the detent ball? I’m asking about Hinderers in general, not this knife specifically.
They're expensive but they really are great knives. I own two so obviously I think they are worth it. After getting my first Hinderer I never carried another ZT again. In fact, I'm selling both of my ZT's. The hardware is such an improvement over the cheap ZT hardware that was probably bought in bulk from China.

Just doing my obligatory "watch reviews of the knife you just bought while it's in the mail"

for me it's like, having the same kinfe(Gen2) in hand and still want to buy one

@@jnsntengUnless you use it in a dirty environment, you might want the bearings…
same
Great review! A little hint to stay strong on the pivot, without scratching at all? Use a heavy gauge guitar pick. Its perfect! Keep em coming!
Used my xm-18 to pry open a microwave door yesterday. Worked like a charm. I like the stuff built for harder use.
I really like this one. I love a tanto. You get to review the coolest knives.
That's cool that they come with extra washers. I guess that makes sense for the chunk of change you spend on a hinderer.
you upload almost twice a day. I love the vids, and respect the work you put into the videos you make

Completely agree!

Happy Monday ! That eklipse is schweeet!

The Eklipse seems like a larger Jurassic. Maybe a comparison in the future? Thanks for the review!
True. Never noticed that, before. The handle shape is definitely similar. That would be a cool comparison

Great looking knife 🔪. I don't think the weight would bother me, but I am used to carrying lightweight knives for my EDC.
You are an inspiration love the reviews 😉 great insight on the realm of Hinderer...
I just want you to know that I cut my thumb open while watching this video. As far as things to do while watching knife videos goes, that's just the circle of life.
Man I really want one to add to the collection and would gladly pay 450 but the scalpers are strong with this one
Great review! I was really considering the ZT 0393...until I saw this video. =)
Are the screw heads on the scales really Torx? I havent had a Hinderer in a long time but u remember them being hex/Allen head. Maybe this is new for the tri-way knives?
Thanks for the review, have you heard when they may be releasing new Eklipse models?
Hey MC, can you get an Titanium scale for the Eclipse like you can for the XM-18 or 24 ?
I've been debating on an XM-18 (3.5") or XM-24, and even Eklipse for a while now. If the Eklipse came out with the fullered spear I probably get that. A new blade profile even better. Good review, 👍
I love my XM-18 but I think I like the Eklipse even better. The non-flipper version of the Eklipse is the best imo.
Damn, less than a minute ago? Been looking forward to this video 😁😁
Cool feature! Great review, as always👌🏼. Hope they do a non-flipper eklipse🤞🏻
Man, this would be my dream work knife.
this bad boy needs a titanium show scale with the black hardware 🤤

it looks really hard to sharpen just looking at it but I only know how to sharpen my opinel lol
the flipper tab doesn't look as sharp
beautiful knife. hinderer's are awesome
will the eklipse scales fit the zt 393
No. Slightly different shape

its uglier than the other models
Great review as always. Have you ever noticed detent pressure after extended amounts of flipping due to wearing of the detent ball? I’m asking about Hinderers in general, not this knife specifically.
I love my Hinderer knives but all 4 of them have detent lash lol
Hinderer maximus with the triway!
COOL Review, COOLEST Knife 😎
Are they really worth the price?!
They're expensive but they really are great knives. I own two so obviously I think they are worth it. After getting my first Hinderer I never carried another ZT again. @@jcolterh I’m thinking about grabbing the xm-18 3.5!! Thanks for the response!
Just bought one off this review.
Stryder vs Hinderer?
I did a vid on that 😉
@@metal_complex bout to watch then, love your vids! Keep up the good work sir.
looks okay but not a Typhoon
Two very different knives
You COULD be biased? Lol.
