At Blade show 2019 I specifically sought out an XM-18 Harpoon Spanto IN S35VN!
Why?... because Hinderer s35vn is some of the best s35vn I've ever used. They do a phenomenal job with it.

What's wrong with the 20cv?
@@matthewp2209 they heat treat 20cv to 59/60 and s35vn to 61/62.
S35vn at 61 will run circles around 20cv at 59.
I've seen more than 1 20cv xm18 tested at 58 hrc and lower.
I've also used both and the s35vn is much better
@@matthewp2209not a damn thing, the S35VN is just tougher and easier to touch up. 20CV will hold an edge a little longer, but it’s more difficult to sharpen.
20CV is my overall favorite steel, but S35VN is great and probably a close second. I don't know why so many people complain about S35VN, that and S30V are the 20CV steels created specifically for knives they are great all arounders corrosion resistant, toughness, edge retention, and sharpenabilty. When in the field it's mich easier to get a great edge on S30V, or S35VN than on 20CV/M390/CTS204P. Hinderers are meant to be users, and in my opinion are some of the best users.

You're way to nice MC. When people come at me saying my knife is to big to cut, which it's currently XM-18 3", I treat them like they're stupid. I do the same when they tell me my knife is to delicate when I carry a more slicey blade. I know and understand the function of different blade styles. If you're gonna come at me about my carry choice you should know also.

I’d love a 3” non flipper or this knife in a different blade shape. I enjoyed my Half Track it’s definitely one that I miss. I liked all my XM-18 3.5” but since my hands are all beat up from my accident the jimping behind the flipper was to harsh for me so I always ended up letting them go. I am so happy that he has started making so many variations of all the models I will wait patiently for a 3” non flipper or a skinny 3.5” non flipper 👌 great video as always I watched to the very end

You get one of the E Knives exclusive Eklipse today. Really wanted a battle black and I know it is coming eventually but I bought one today anyway. So hard to get Hinderers figure I better take one when I can get it and its different then any others I have since it has the bronze ano and FDE show side they are flipper less too spearpoints. Only spearpoint Hinderer I have. I just got one of the 3 inch warncliffes in battle black with natural G10 goes good with my MEFP Eklipse warncliffe so I might wait to get the DLT exclusive warncliffe that is about to drop when they get the battle black so I can have those 3 matching up with the finish and blade shape at least. I actually got one of these 3 inch Eklipse last night from Apostle P too besides the other Hinderers I have. Wish I would have bought one of the Eklipse bowies maybe Southern Edges will get another run soon.

I bought one of these last night from the weekly sale with Apostle P for $300. Then today got the E Knives exclusive Eklipse. Kinda was wanting battle black and I know they said they had some in battle black coming eventually figured I better get whatever I can since Hinderer knives sell out instantly. I really want a battle black in the DLT warncliffe that is dropping in a few days though so might wait on that till the battle black. Its a choil less m390 3.5 xm18 warncliffe. I just got a 3 inch warncliffe in battle black with natural G10 and I have the MEFP Eklipse which was a 3v warncliffe in battle black. Be cool to have a 3.5 inch xm18 in battle black to go along with those other 2 warncliffes and cool its m390 too so all 3 will be a different steel. Bought quite a few Hinderers the last 5 months or so with that MEFP, 3 inch, 3 inch Eklipse, E Knives exclusive spearpoint Eklipse, working finish xm24 bowie, spanto Firetac think that is all I have got this year besides other Hinderers I already owned. Been on a real heavier duty higher end US kick lately. Got in on multiple Strider drops, 3 since March plus a Monkey Edge SLCC a few weeks ago and a WP I got from ME, 3 Demko AD20s, A new Zaan the other day and both of the small and large DLT exclusive elforyn Sebenzas, a Knifecenter FDE Inkosi, TAD Dauntless, TAD edition 3 inch Mac 2, Les George morph pattern VECP thumbstud, MEFP 3v tanto Slim Midi with PVD blade and clip the frame is a deep blue polished ano with of course the MEFP, Magnacut green ano frag 3.5 inch Mac 2, the fir tree Spartan whatever else sure there is some more besides all the normal stuff I get from CKF, stuff made by Reate, We, Bestech mostly OEM work by them, Spyderco whatever else. Bought a Persian and work knife V2 from Matt Helm/Dauntless too guess they are fixed blades too like 2 of the Striders but they are made up in PA. I got the MEFP Rockwall in the mail a couple days ago too guess its not a heavy duty type knife but its a higher end US made folder and its Magnacut too.
If it's a Hinderer, I don't care if it's nylon washers. Those external stop pins take the lateral stress anyway, and I like the lubricity, not that I'm lazy at lubing things though. :)
If you look at the zt 0562 the stop pin is just for the closed position
First off thanks for the review this knife wasn't on my list but its right in my type of carry.I like small but sturdy knifes I have two ZTs modal 0900 and a 0450 and a Chris Reeve small 21.this is right up my Allie with s35vn steel and size you just put it on my radar!!
Hinderer Nylon/Teflon is what you want in a dirty environment. The Tri-Way pivot is a step down, IMO.
Also S35VN is some good shit when done right. Hinderer, CRK, and Strider do it right.
I just ordered mine from DLT in blue. It'll go beside it's bigger brother... my MX18 Fatty Gen 6 wharncliffe. In blue of course. My wifes head is exploding.

Not currently, but I would recommend USA made blade first. If they dont have it, DLT Trading is another great retailer 👍

I don’t have any places around me either. The only place I have around me is a Sportsmens warehouse and they don’t carry very many high-end knives. Just a few benchmates Kershaw ZT and that’s about it .So if I want to handle a knife I have to buy it. The only Knives I have ever handled was ones that I bought with the exception of a few when I’m on vacation and come across a knife store

Definitely sucks. There are many many blades out there that I have never had in my head that I want and there are hundreds of Knives that I would love to just flip one time
