  • Why is the Roland Juno-X The Synthwave Monster ?
    Well - Synthwave = 80`s re-creation of synthpop/ synthmusic, so in my PERSONAL opinion I belive this monster synth has it all :-)
    In this short video I just wanted to share my passion for the Roloand Juno-x , and play you a couple of Synthwave sequences I just made.
    0:00 Intro
    0:15 - The Synthwave Monster
    1:46 - Synthwave music demo#1
    5:04 - One more ?
    5:22 - Synthwave music demo#2
    7:05 - Thank you

The Fantom is for me a big amazing workstation, and I do have all I need on that side.. so I went for the Juno 😃😃 We all have our preferences, and there is no right or wrong on this subject- If you go for a synth you like, you’re always right no matter what 🤣🤣

    • @GlennMainMusic
      @GlennMainMusic  Год назад +1

      You can have 4 tracks (midi channels) plus a drum track - so it’s 5 in total.
      But you can make all kinds of variations and jump between “Senes” (presets)
      In my opinion it’s a perfect synth for dawless live sets. It’s like a good old drum mashine , but with additional sound tracks - If you know what I mean. Just press the “pattern” you want, and you’re good to go ;)

    • @GlennMainMusic

      Thank you :) I used to have the Jupiter XM, but I sold it just because I wanted bigger key bed. I was supposed to buy the Jupiter X, but then Juno X appeared … I still have my Juno 106 , the JX8P and JD800… so for me it was not that much of a big deal to “loose” some expansion regarding those synths. Although I did buy the JD800 expansion 😃😃😃 So I feel I have it all anyway. The Jupiter is also a great great synth … 😃

    • @martinson9552

    Small question. You have a nice little collection of modern Roland musical instruments. In contrast, the only Roland I ever owned (a wrong voltage JD-990) I sold for a modest profit.
    However, with two Yamahas and two Korgs (and some assorted non-Japanese brands), there's a Roland-shaped gap in my collection. As such, I've been looking at the Juno-X and the Jupiter-X, and maybe the MC-707 and TR-8S. (I also have a limited budget, so let's not get excited.)
    What I was wondering is whether there was any particular reason (other than price) to choose the Juno-X over the Jupiter-X, because the two have quite a lot of overlap. Or was that the actual reason?

    Hi Glenn, hope you are doing great! awesome demo, i have Important question for you, can I use this as a midi controller thru cubase 12 ? and if i want the patches to change on the JunoX, can i select the changes vis cubase? really appreciate your time!
    Thanks! 😎🎹!

    • @GlennMainMusic
      @GlennMainMusic  Год назад +1

      Thank you 🙏🏽 Yes you can… if the Juno is connected to midi I/o then you can change patches via control change .. just like we did back in the old days when using multiple synths in a live rig with a sequencer. I did not try this myself on the Juno X , but it should work as it does in any other hardware synth :)
      You should also be able change parameters like volum , panning .. and all the “mix” stuff.. and also filter settings 😃😃

    Hello, I'm back again to this great video. I've been looking on the web for info. but couldn't find it. Do you know if you can pan a single sound (in the output stereo field) on Roland X to the output or maybe also the effects like delay etc. I know you can pan sound within the group of many sounds, but panning a single sound? Is it possible or it's all just hard left and right - double mono like in the 80's, haha? Thanks ...

    Glenn your demo is amazing i will buy juno-x. Step sequencer is easy to use? I used jupiter xm before 1.50 update. Then i sold it because it was not practical. So what is your opinion on juno x about creating song? Easy to use?

    • @GlennMainMusic
      @GlennMainMusic  2 года назад +1

      I also had the Jupiter XM, and the sequencer part is mainly the same as Jupiter X/XM. I will use an external sequencer when I write songs 😃

    •  2 года назад +1

      @@GlennMainMusic yes but after 3.0 firmware upgrade they are same. Before it was trouble. At your demo 2 songs are written in juno-X internal sequencer? Or external ?

    Tengo dudas de comprarlo.

    • @GlennMainMusic
      @GlennMainMusic  Год назад

      I did have the Jupiter XM myself, but I sold it to get my Juno X. The engine inside its more or less the same, and I was actually hoping to buy the Jupiter X just to get a bigger keybed.. but my friends at Roland told me to wait for a “new release”… and that was the Juno X. It’s just a matter of what layout you like on the front, and I have had my Nuno 106 since the 80’s, and I was very familiar to that layout , so I love the Juno X because if that. If you do have the Jupiter X and have gotten used to that layout, I would maybe just keep it if I were you… but again, it’s only a matter of personal taste, they are both great synths 😃😃

    I'd be tempted to buy it, but I don't understand. Isn't the jupiter x superior to the juno x? I mean, the jupiter eventually has the ability to emulate the juno. I seem to go one down compared to the Jupiter. they are too stackable don't you think?

    Wish this supported the ACB plug outs - would be an instant buy. The form factor/layout and build quality would be a perfect marriage with that - on my PC I definitely prefer the ACB VSTs over the zenology patches for any given synth. I know I could just buy the system 8 but the build quality, layout, 4 octave and green just put me off - a big part of me enjoying all this again after 30 years is being back in 1981..

      The Juno is a great synth, and we all have our preferences, but this synth definitely meets mine at least :) there are so many synth engine VST out there… I wish a manufacturer could make it possible to make a plug out synth with capacity to read any VST synth :) That would be nice :)
