    About Azahar sir, I remember many matches I've seen against tough side he used to start with singles / doubles and doesn't believe in Wasting ball. And he willl ensure that scoreboard is running And his average never used to be out of proportion. And suddenly you will see he in 50s with 65 odd balls snd then next 50will be under 30-35 balls, that was class. Doesn't believe in hitting much but eventually he will climb over bowler in finishing over, Man I've seen walking over and hitting Australia fast attack over covers/ long off. Perfect one day batsman. How to bat in 50 over match. Never a dull moment in A match. Amazing skill in fielding, Throw from both hands,, He was the one who brought this energy to the Indian fielding side, He must be admired for that.

    Sublime poetry in motion. There is nothing more beautiful on a sports field than Azhar's batting. The greatest of painting brushes, made of willow, he had. Growing up watching him play, I had, and still have, only one dream. Bat like Azhar for an hour. Then die in perpetual peace.

    • @ayasswain

      Well said. Till date he is my most favorite batsman. If you keep aside the match fixing controversy aside and judge him just as a cricketer he is right there in one of the best batsman + filder to play the game. His batting style was artistic and was like a painting.

      @@ayasswain Azhar was a right handed David Gower. A mere 30 from Azhar would bring more joy to the audience than a laboured hundered.Rarely did he get out on a zero ( only 5 zeroes in 99 test matches) When asked what his goal was when he enters the field he said " to win and to entertain"Cricket is a visual sport and for that reason alone , damn the averages !!

    • @ayasswain
      @ayasswain 2 года назад +1

      @@riyazahmed208 Correct. Each time I watched him batting I was just glued to the TV. The square drives, flicks were so elegant !!! My goodness. It was like you are cutting a piece of butter with a knife. Pure artistry and elegance on the pitch. He never wasted much balls in ODIs. His strike rate used to be 80+ most of the times. On top of that he was an excellent filder and captain. I lost interest in cricket to some extent after he left the game due to the controversy. I had watched him playing in stadium when he scored his highest ODI score of 151 in Cuttack against Zimbabwe way back in April 1998 . Ajay Jadeja also scored a century in that match. Both of them built a very big partnership. 90s memories. ❤️

    Obviously , now a.days I am not seeing cricket after expelling of Azhar, coz, now nobody play like the strokes of Azhar, it was so marvellous as well as splendid, his style of walking to the cricket ground, running between the stumps, more over athletic fielding, no need to express mu feelings, any way all.tye best for his future career

    Unfortunately people don’t remember his services to cricket due to the later stage of his career. Mind you all other players were also equally involved, he just got the bullet for it.
    His style was unique and if watched live would amaze anybody. The bat speed was out of the world

      Nimit Patel you’ll be surprised who else was involved. It was better for World Cricket to just have a few from each country blamed.

    Back then when batting was poetry, shots were fluidic. Azhar was an exceptional counter attack batsman if he made up his mind.
