It’s almost criminal that Indian broadcasters who have substantially higher value cricket broadcast deals and astronomically high number of cricket fans don’t invest in these kind of high quality documentaries with stellar production. Great job Sky, I hope your counterparts here in India learn a thing or two.

The BCCI control tv production of the cricket on Star. The broadcasters are all contracted to the BCCI. Sky on the other hand have complete control of what they can produce. I live in the UK and the coverage is so good but when I go to India it’s sad they don’t put more effort into documentaries and analysis/punditry because they have access to some great footage and finance.

I was a 5-6 year old when england toured India. I still remember the More stumping. I remember running around my house celebrating high fiving anyone who cared to engage with me. Doordarshan also used to have these ridiculous intermissions to telecast the news for about 30 minutes. Those 30 minutes never seemed to end. It was this series and the hero cup that sealed my lifelong love for cricket.

Same here..i was also just around 9 years old during this series win..and after this series I started to believe that no team in the world can face Indian spinners (however it was just my childhood and I neglected the fact that it was home series and I wasn't aware of home pitch factors and conditions plays huge role in cricket, and India was very weak team whenever it plays in foregin conditions)

Absolute gold, still remember was in 10th grade with exams approaching however did not miss a single ball of this series. Azhar was in immense pressure and responded with a magnificent hundred. Sachin, Sidhu and Kambli followed up in 2nd and 3rd test. Every day a new excuse came up from England, first it was food, then air, then injuries and so on. Pommies actually took India very lightly with aging players and were beaten hands down.

Also, cronje for all his greed was by and large a far better captain, competing directly for the crown of the best team leader with wasim akram, Mark Taylor and Steve Waugh, winning tests both home and overseas, though he couldn't accomplish a series win against Australia, unlike azhar who was a miserable skipper and team man when touring.
