Great job Sky, I hope your counterparts here in India learn a thing or two.
The BCCI control tv production of the cricket on Star. The broadcasters are all contracted to the BCCI. Sky on the other hand have complete control of what they can produce. I live in the UK and the coverage is so good but when I go to India it’s sad they don’t put more effort into documentaries and analysis/punditry because they have access to some great footage and finance.

Doordarshan also used to have these ridiculous intermissions to telecast the news for about 30 minutes. Those 30 minutes never seemed to end. It was this series and the hero cup that sealed my lifelong love for cricket.

Even though this tour was a disaster we still had several very good batsmen with healthy averages. Today our top 6 only has one player with an average over 40, the rest average about 30. For all the money that's poured into the game since then it isn't good enough.
Mind you, look at our test team now !! Just won 3-0 in Pakistan playing some of the best and most exciting cricket I’ve ever seen us play in 35 years of watching England.
After this test match Azharuddin Domestic dominance as captain begun , and next 6 years it continued. sachin, dravid laxman and saurav and kumble were youngsters for whom Azhar was their first captain. After Azhars exit, Saurav took the team to the next level of success, and Dhoni got a good platform from Saurav to increase the success rate and now Virat is enjoying the legacy of leadership which has come to him.

Mohammed Azharuddin was a pure class attacking batsman whom took the ballers on and showed no mercy. It's a shame how his career ended and he was stuck on 99 Tests.
We had been on the road since 1989 to 1992 playing overseas to Windies , Pakistan , Eng , NZ , Aus ,SA...had lost mostly all the series so this was a big relief to play at home after 4 years...remember England remark in the times of India press that England won't underestimate India !!!
This is a great documentary that's been put together really well. Reeve did a brilliant job filming behind the scenes. Particularly liked the dressing room scene just before the first Test match started with Robin Smith trying to get in the zone.
This is truly a fantastic, marvelous documentary can't wait for the remaining episodes. Everything thing about this first two episodes have been mesmerizing and it's fascinating to watch the dressing room culture, the train journeys, etc🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
eng were favs bfr this series, bcs indian team was gng through a very poor run for 2 yrs also a poor world cup perf, they had quite a few young players in this series like kumble, chauhan, tendulkar, kambli , i belong to tht gen having fondly watched this series, i still remb bfr the series even in ind we nvr tght ind will win 3-0, frm this series onwards ind started becoming formidable at home in test matches which still continuing now

Rajesh Chauhan was a brilliant off spinner who could turn the ball miles "just like Murli" as the narrator said. He was wasted by BCCI by not giving chances and plethora of spinners. In those days, every one wanted to be a spinner.
Happy for Vinod kambli for included in intro banner, Unique Talent tore away due to lack of self control, but I always say he is Brain lara of India...
Very good piece here by Sky sports...look forward for more productions like this.. just one suggestion though, sometimes it's difficult to predict whose voice it is when there are certain parts of the video being played..if there could be some graphic saying voice of... To mention who it is.
it's the biggest shame in indian cricket history that this man was our captain , atleast cronje had the courage to admit his wrongdoing , this man on the other hand became a politician and used his influence to clear his name.
Let alone admit his wrongdoing, azhar bought religion into the equation to play victim card. Also, cronje for all his greed was by and large a far better captain, competing directly for the crown of the best team leader with wasim akram, Mark Taylor and Steve Waugh, winning tests both home and overseas, though he couldn't accomplish a series win against Australia, unlike azhar who was a miserable skipper and team man when touring.

What a production! This is a masterclass.
The cricket broadcast was produced by Transworld International(TWI) who in turn sold the broadcast rights to Sky Sports in England.
Till the time Azhar played for India, he was the best batsman in the team. Even young Tendulkar hadn’t quite reached his higher gears at that point.
Kumble played against England on the 1990 tour-no idea why they keep saying they had never seen him.
