Azharuddin was found guilty and banned for life by ICC. Just because some Indian Court lifted his life ban couple of years ago during UPA tenure owing to him being a Congress MP doesn't prove him innocent. ICC refused to lift the ban on him. If you have any doubts regarding his character, look at his personal life as well.

The guy wasn't eloquent in how he said it, but he is right in saying the betting should be legal. I moved from India to North America and here betting is legal and the society is no worse than India - to be honest, it is a lot better! Betting, just like alcohol and cigarettes can be addictive and may lead you down the wrong path, however if the other two are legal, why shouldn't betting be to, it is no worse than the other addictions people may have.
The problem isn't betting per se, but about buying off players to influence the outcome of a game or ball.

This video is staged. Similar video surfaced of Ravi Shastri also where he is saying similar things about Azhar. It was a conspiracy of Bombay brahmins to frame and defame Azhar, they waited for the right time and stuck during BJP govt of 1998.
At the time of ban Azhar was zooming towards 10k odi runs, first player in history but the ban conveniently came just in time to let brahmin Sachin take over Azhar and become the first player to reach 10k odi runs.
