Ppl forget that Waqar was just 1 year older than sachin when both of them made their debuts together in the same series . While there is a lot of recognition of how good sachin was at 16 to play such ferocious fast bowling there is no recognition of the fact that waqar bowled with such fervor when he was a 18 year old debutant
I was yet to be born but what I understand from cricket fanatics of that era is that the first few years of waqar were arguably the most destructive - visually and in terms of numbers - of any other they knew of.

Both play U19 world cup also. Ok what's about Gavaskar then? He never faced the level of West Indians before but holds the record against them.
