I listened through decent headphones, and it sounded great on its own, especially with the foam removed. I like how durable it seems. Have you tested it for noise with the Wireless GO II setup?
@@milesian1 Yes I have... doesn't sound a whole lot different with the wireless kit. Although like any wireless system... if you really dig in... the sound & levels are slightly degraded.
Please include in future reviews real-world testing on the SPL limit where clipping begins -- a common, under-reported flaw of most lav mics (some folks, in dramatic situations for example, simply do scream/yell/talk loudly momentarily, and most mics clip deep into the hardware).
I think the Rode NT1 is a fantastic alternative. And if you can swing it, Sennheiser MKH416, Neumann TLM103, or AKG414 or Austrian Audio OC818. U87 is some endgame stuff... but ... you can replicate it pretty close for like 1/4 to 1/3 the cost.
