Thank you so much!!! Your speedo bit helped me more than you could possibly imagine. I bow to thee sir!
Man I appreciate that. Makes me feel like it was worth it. I wasn’t sure how this would do. Thank you.
Thanks for you help bro! Couldn’t have done it without you! Once again Ruck shop to save the day!!!
Awesome! Now enjoy it
@@burnoutbobby Yes! Do you guys sell different mounts? My handlebars dip down in the center so the vapor sits off to the left...
Send a picture of the bar you have to my ig and I’ll see
Damn, late to the show. Finally got to watch the video. My friend noticed how well your bracket flows with the bars compared to the one he has currently mounted on his bike. Still can't get over how awesome the rims look and yellow calipers. And as always another informative video.
I was waiting for your comments haha. Thank you. It took a couple different designs and drawings until I came up with the best fit and had some strength to it
So much info from this video, this is actually making me want to change out my stock speedo
I appreciate it!
Enjoy the video man very informative definitely make it look easy catch you on the next one👍
As always thank you!
I don't have any extra holes in my rotor for the magnetic bolt to sit. Can I use it as a bolt for my rotor. They are the same thread pitch.
Yea in the pack there should be magnetic bolts the same size as your rotor bolt.
@@burnoutbobby there was one bolt that fit the rotor bolt hole and there is not a pad that came with my kit. It's got a bolt you have to mount somewhere to your forks
There should have been a magnetic rotor bolt. They give a few options in the bag with extra magnets
@@burnoutbobby yea the rotor bolt was in there but not the pad you put on the forks
Where did you get the vapor from
Great video, very informative and good camera work. Really enjoyed it
Thank you
HIS CAMERA GAME IS GETTING TO BE ON POINT
I appreciate that
Super helpful. If you have a cdi where should you coil your wire for the rpm? I did close to the plug but the readings don't seem correct.
For what cc motor
@@burnoutbobby just a stock 49cc GET nothing fancy.
You still wrap the ron wire around the coil wire then.
Bobby not sure if you answered this but I didn’t catch in the video was the ‘danger’ ‘high’ settings. What do I was to set those to? Thanks
I max it out. I think it’s 350
Boddy, you should be a full video on how to prep the frame with bondo for paint. And jb weld for powdercoat. Thoughts on this?
If I had multiple frames I would. My recent video is already showing how to do it for paint
@@burnoutbobby True 👍 in the process now of doing the JB Weld.. it's a pain in the a$$ cause I'm a perfectionist lol
No matter what you do, bondo or jb weld it’s going to suck and have to keep doing layers to get it as close to perfect as it can. I’m no body shop guy so that makes it even harder for us noobs at it
You guys gonna be getting any more of those TRS wall banners? I’ve been checking the site and they just haven’t been available. Need one for my garage. Nice bracket design, I like how it’s tilted towards the rider.
I have one. Put it in the comments for next order. Thank you
Burnout Bobby excellent. You’re the man.
Sweet this video helped me get my rpms right but my speed still isn't working. Could my sensor be bad? I rotated the sensor the same way you have it but its still not working thinking sensor is bad.
Or magnet
Didn't even think magnet could go bad. Guess I'll try that first. Just glue a new one over the old one? Mines not a bolt looks like it's just pushed through the wheel with a plastic ring around it.
@@georgerobert86 yes try run in the magnet by the sensor. If the sensor picks it up on the screen then you know the sensor is good still
Magnet fixed it! Thanks man!
What is that little can on the right side of your handlebars? Also that clearish yellow tube? Im new to the ruckus scene. Trying to get knowledge from you guys!
What yellow tube? The cylinder is for my disc brakes. It’s a master cylinder.
@@burnoutbobby ohhhhh ok i see now that makes sense. Im guessing that tube is connected to the master cylinder
Thanks for this video! By any chance do you know if there’s a way to program the mileage on there?
You cannot adjust mileage. You start fresh on there so basically remember where you were at before you add it on then add on what the gauge says you have
@@burnoutbobby got it. Thanks for the reply🤙🏽
hello i need some help
Take me out of doubt the screw on the trail techc vapor packaging is the one on the left.
my disk screw is the one on the right.
have different measures.
I can stick the magnet on my screw
sorry for my bad english
Thank you so much
How long does it typically take to ship and arrive from your store? I couldn’t find it during checkout and stuff and I wanted to know before I order
If you are in USA it ships same or next day and depending where you live 2-5 days
First look at the vapor and I don't like the display color or lack thereof. Maybe later in the video I can see a color program but I doubt it.
You always have negative comments.
@@burnoutbobby There are some positive ones as well, just not today. I'll just keep my thoughts to myself I guess.
Is taking the whole number more accurate vs rounding up or down depending on rounding rules?
Whole number is better
Love the content! Quick question my pcv bracket (2018) is smaking my ssp-g exhaust when ever I hit bumps (i'm about 180lbs) I trimmed .5 inch off but its still hitting any suggestions?
I’d remove the POV bracket and relocate the POV unit itself under the seat
@@burnoutbobby thanks man! Answered a question I had without me even asking it 🤣. You sir are a true guru.
Nice KTM your gonna be rollin brother.
Thank you
Hey Bobby ,
I need some help , my milage on my older vapor somehow got screwed up last summer when my scooter was in storage for 6 months and is now stuck at 1999 miles . It was higher then that but went down and is now not going up . The magnet on the wheel is still there and the sensor is intact too . Any ideas about what happened or how to fix the issue would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Love you
I’m not sure when it comes to those types of issues it’s best to contact trail tech. They are in the us and should be able to know what happened. I have not heard of that before.
@@burnoutbobby copy that...
I figured out it was just my trip meter maxed out not a odometer issue .....durrrrrr .
I just had to reset the trip meter by holding left button+mode button for 3 seconds . odo was still counting as normal just didn't look through all the menu options to find the odometer as its not displayed on the main screen and I think mine was on hrs on that screen and I didnt know to hit the right button to display milage . I got her fingered out now though .
Perfect!
Can I still use the vapor if I don’t have disk brakes yet? Where do you put the magnetic piece that reads the MPH.
Yes you can the factory directions for the Vilal or go over it. It’s listed on the ruck shops website under the link for the vapor.
Hey Bobby I just installed the trail tech vapor and the m/h is reading double what I am actually going, Where do I start to troubleshoot this?
Your wheel dimensions is off.
Do you know the spark per revolution of the ruckus?
2ppr
Great video Ryan 👍🏻
Hey Bobby. Where would I place the magnet if I have drum brakes?
They have instructions for that on their site. You drill a hole through the wheel and use the magnet with the c clip.
My vapor kit came with a few different magnets. One of which was not a screw but just a magnet. I bought some gorilla gel glue from auto zone then added little bit to keep the magnet from potentially sliding around or falling off.
That may last temporarily. Eventually it may vibrate off.
However, I need to readjust my sensor cable because I realize it’s too far out on the fork , not reading the magnet lol
That will definitely cause an issue hahaha
Does the fitment and installation changed for a 23 Ruckus?
The same no matter if it’s 2003 or 2023
What did you set you temp range too I install taida 171 big bore temp goes up to 375 not sure what the safe range is
340 I put for hot. You may be running it too lean
I mounted a tomtom on my panned out scoot.
The gps don't use data and its dead on accurate.
No wheel sensors & no calibration required.
Just mount it & supply 12volts.
That’s sick. Koso has one like that now too
I have been trying to figure out 4 months where I would need to tap into the ATR CDI in order to get my tachometer to work. Can you please let me know where you tapped into on the CDI in order to get the tachometer to work?
It’s not bad. Just lookup gy6 ac cdi pin layout on google images. You will see a diagram that look like your cdi. One of the wires will say ignition or power to coil. That’s the wire you use.
@@burnoutbobby Thank you, so much. I too run the direct ignition. I'm glad I found your video and more appreciated that you replied, not too many people reply to videos when I ask questions.
@@kennethgouldjr9179 I reply too all tech support questions here and Instagram. Here to help the best I can.
I connected my signal wire from the gauge to the + ignition coil wire coming out of the CDI box and I'm still not getting a RPM reading. Do you have any advice on what might be wrong? As I started before I'm running a direct ignition coil. The coil only has two wires coming out of it (even though it's a three pin connector. Is that normal?
I forgot to add in. That I spliced into the + ignition coil wire. And soldered with electrical tap. Looks like "Y" split.
Do you not need to take crush washer off of spark plug
You can put it in as is.
Does it have its own battery source where u don’t have to connect it to a battery using wires?
Yes it has a backup battery but it doesn’t last long.
How long is not very long?
@@mathewchastain8525 I’ve heard people say it’s lasted one day. I personally don’t bother testing it so I put it to a power and ground as trail tech suggests.
@@burnoutbobby what kind of battery is it? Is it rechargeable?
It’s a watch battery
Bobby the koso speedo u guys sale csn i use this the bracket u use on this video to install it lmk bud i know this is an old vodeo but using it fir refrence to my question thank always
I have had many customers modify this bracket to work for koso. They have to drill new holes
@@burnoutbobby thanx for the reply. Man.i ll have a go at it then. Loving the customer service from ur shop guys speedy well packed items. 👍
Thank you we really take a lot of pride in what we do so it feels good to hear this from customers and friends.
Hey nice r53 in the background. Is it a JCW??
No unfortunately not.
What should the temp and high temp warning be set at?
All depends what your factory temp warning should be. There’s tons of scooters out there and they all have different operating temps. So base it 30-50 degrees above the operating temp per the service manual.
I need some ideas for mine
do you guys offer just the extenstion wire on trs?
We do not
@@burnoutbobby any help on where i can find that extenstion?
Beat bet is to call trail tech.
@@burnoutbobby sounds about right. appreciate the help! thanks.
You’re welcome. Happy new year
So i cant use this speedo cable on stock rim:( the whole thing i mean
Yeah you can. Trail tech has instructions on how to do it to a stock wheel
My rpm is tapped into the cdi, and it’s always hit and miss weather or not it works. Sometimes it does, some times it’s backwards and goes down instead of up as I rev. 🤦🏻♂️
That’s no good.
With the front end vibration, and tach not working, I’m about to bring it down to you guys to let you go through it. 🤣
shane brock if we only worked on bikes here man lol. We just make and sell the parts. But a lot of us that work here do work on the side outside our shop
Burnout Bobby oh I know. I’m just at a loss on what else to do. Ordering tires from you guys, and new front hub bearings from McMaster today. Hoping that fixes it. Everything will be new after that so not sure what else to try. Not many ruckus guys in NW Missouri to bounce ideas off of.
What mount is it on
I keep seeing videos of you riding scooters that have this unit installed and you use some ap on your phone to measure speed instead with up to a three mph difference between the two. Is that unit not accurate? f your phone says 45 mph and the trailtech says 42, one of them is wrong.
The trailtech is typically 1-3mph off. I’ve mentioned this in videos. I use my phone app only once in a video to check it. I do this to see how much it’s off then adjust
@@burnoutbobby I'm slightly shocked that you answered my question so quickly. I appreciate that. Does the inaccuracy of the Trail Tech have something to do with needing to be calibrated to tire size? And by the way, I got my package in from you guys today. Everything looks really nice.
@@mm-tg8oo it’s primarily the fact it reads off a magnet and doesn’t always catch the magnet. The koso speedo we sell has an option for a gps plug in which is 100% accurate. You’re welcome. I’m always here to answer questions. Thank you for doing business with us as well.
Do u do custom jobs urself ?
Yes
Burnout Bobby are u in the middle of any projects right now ?
Z West yes I have 2 going at the moment.
Burnout Bobby oh ok , what bikes are u working on?
The grey one in my video and a 49cc
does it have a gas gauge?
No the vapor doesn’t.
@@burnoutbobby I really want one with gas gauge so not to be guessing on the gas... but I guess you can add a separate meter for that.
Yeah that’s what most to. The vapor with a stage6 small fuel gauge
@@burnoutbobby yeah just have to create a mount with my 3d printer or integrate it to the battery box housing but I don't want to cut that
There are mounts out there for it already.
