- If you want more information than most other tachs or hour meters can provide, the Trail Tech Vapor Speedometer and Tachometer has a long list of functions that help you stay aware of what's happening during your ride.
The Trail Tech Vapor Speedometer and Tachometer is a physically small package (about 4.2 x 2.3 inches)with capabilities that make it perfect for all types of riding whether it be cross country, trail riding, or playing on your favorite riding spot. Functions start with the speedometer and real-time tachometer, but continue with tracking of max speed, max rpm, engine temp, ambient temp, time, average ride time, distance, and overall miles with a permanent odometer.

I need some help , my milage on my older vapor somehow got screwed up last summer when my scooter was in storage for 6 months and is now stuck at 1999 miles . It was higher then that but went down and is now not going up . The magnet on the wheel is still there and the sensor is intact too . Any ideas about what happened or how to fix the issue would be much appreciated.
My unit does not say vapor on it but looks identical otherwise so I am just assuming its a vapor please correct me if I am wrong .

Most people mount the Trail Tech Vapor in addition to the stock speedometer/gauge cluster but I have seen on forums where people do a little extra work and completely replace the stock gauges.

This may be a silly question but does the odometer reading starts at 0 when you first install it or do you need to manually enter it? Also, does it reset if the battery dies?

yes it takes a CR2032 battery

Yes you can keep the back light on while riding at night.

It’s a universal kit. You can make it fit your bike. The installation is the same for any bike you put it on

Yes, you can definitely adjust the wheel/tire size to your needs.
How does it get it's rpm signal and can it be driven by an inductive sensor for rpm
I’m pretty sure you splice a wire leading to your spark plug and that’s how it gets the rpm
@@masonroy2944 turns out you don't splice anything. I bought this product 3 months ago.. You wrap the wire around your spark plug wire between the two boots and it wirelessly/inductively reads the RPMs by pulses through the wire.
@@masonroy2944 if you go onto the trail tech website you can download their user manuals and in each there are installation instructions. Most all the trail tech gauges use this method.

Unfortunately, I don't think that is an option for these. But if you know how many hours you already have on it you can always just add that on.
not sure about hours, but this is to add mileage. :Press and hold all three buttons down for three seconds to enter the data setting mode. Once there using the mode button progress to the tire size. At the tire size enter 9110 using the left and right had buttons to increment the digits. Immediately after entering the new tire size press and hold the right hand button down for three second. This should move to a screen with ( 12HR ) flashing on it. If this is displayed you are in the permanent data set so any alterations will be saved to the permanent information. Once in this data set again using the mode button move to desired screen in this case the screen that reads ODO for odometer. Finally using the left and right buttons again alter the ODO to desired mileage. Once complete you can either wait for five seconds and let the Vapor revert back to the main screen or you can use the mode button to reach the main screen. Resetting the proper tire size is not needed since the Vapor with automatically default back to the values you had set prior to this adjustment.
What is the battery life like ? Is it replaceable or will I need to buy a new one ?
These are designed to plug into a bike's wiring harness and use the bike's power source. You will not need to replace the battery.

There are a few different mounts and some bike-specific sensors. With that said, these units can still be used on a wide range of machines.

Can you get this to fit a Chinese Hawk 250 dirt bike?.
I'm not familiar with that bike so i can't give a great answer. But if your bike has wiring harness/system then you should be ok.
Yes, it does work, however, this is already a great digital speedo available that is plug and play for the Hawk 250. Look on the Chinarider forum or hawk250 dot com

How do you turn off this gauge after the bike is off with it connected to electric start?
The gauge will turn off automatically after 20mins of the bike not moving.
Is there a light or a signal that tells you when your on nutreual
The Trail Tech Vapor does not have a neutral indicator light.
Any other recommendations of speedometers with neutral indicator light im a beginner rider

I think the hour meter should be resettable because I always get a new hour meter everytime I do a complete rebuild on my bike

We don't carry it for that bike but Trail Tech does offer one on their site. The part number you would need for your bike is 752-115.

Is it waterproof?
This computer is not waterproof but will hold up just fine to rain, mud and washing your machine.
I really want to get one and it would be nice to get a aluminum cage for it but $160 for everything.. it’s too expensive for me I’m only 16 I would love to get into racing

Trail Tech doesn't list any kits working for the Bruin but they do have some for other ATV's so you may be able to contact them directly and see if you would be able to make one work for your quad.

Will it work at an mz Sm 125 2004?
I asked the company a while back regarding a possible installation for an MZ sx125, their verdict was it should be possible, but probably best to contact them and get the right version number, which I don't have to hand. There is a 'generic' version for a single cylinder four stroke, you may need to go the route of a temperature sensor that attaches to the radiator rather than the one that goes inline with the coolant flow, from memory the issue was the pipe/hose diameters being mismatched. Probably the greater issue will be getting the right sensors, the head itself should then work fine, I still plan to use one but haven't got to that stage in the build yet. Best of luck.
