  • We are confined and need to keep our minds busy so I've put together this little indoor garden using materials I had laying around. I'm using the setup to grow basil, lettuce and turnips.

Hi Khaled - love that you are posting again. I am thinking your basil has downy mildew. I have seen that a lot in my past crops. Have you tried any of the Downy mildew resistant types? I am growing the variety Eleonora and it was so perfect last year. I also have another question about strawberries. Can you tell me what kind all the many Quebec growers sell at market? I am thirsty for those tiny berries. Also, where can I get them? I need a wholesale supplier since I am growing so many after your podcast with me! PS If you prefer You can also email me at info@donnabalzer.com

Nice to hear from you Donna! My basil is a little pale but I just checked it after reading your comment but no mildew that I can see! I did keep the lamps a little too close in the beginning so that may have stressed the plants out a little. As for strawberries, the most common are Seascape and Albion but if you’re looking for smaller candy tasting berries you want Charlotte. They are sweet and delicious and you will never find them for sale! Lareault nursery has them but not sure how far they will ship. Www.lareault.com

@@ThePlantCharmer Thanks! That was fast. I'll give them a try. I already have seascape and albion thanks to your excellent advice! Re: Basil. I just tried the downy mildew types and am amazed. I think you will be too!
