  • In this video I show you guys the results of planting root crops in plug trays a couple of weeks after germination.
We look at our radishes which are about 10 days from harvest and nicely bulbing. We also look at Paris carrots growing in a no drip tray and Nantes carrots growing in 4 inch containers. Finally, we look at my latest rain gutter experiment with double rows of radishes.
We explore watering, fertilizing, lighting and overall requirements for successfully growing root crops in plug trays.

    Shukran!
my little cousin's name is Khaled.
These videos were crucial. I'm trying to grow my own food indoors inside my apartment.
And I've been hunting for dwarf plants etc. And I was wondering how I could realistically do root vegetables. You just changed the game. From the method to the carrot variations. This is amazing!
And these innovations are perfect for my space. I can now realistically feed myself without having to buy expensive raised garden beds for inside my home .
The food shortages in new York were brutal and eating healthy has been hard.
Thank you is not even the word.

This came along at the right time for me. I've grown some beets in hydroponics for leaves, but she gave me a sample of beet kvass, which was very tasty. So I'm looking for ideas for growing beets in trays. This is perfect.

If you try isn't perfectly flat you can get some improvement by rotating it 180 degress every few days. I use hydroponic solution in systems similar to this.

Are Those white roof gutters safe for plants? Does it have a recycle number in a triangle under the bottom of the container?

I just Googled it, and someone has done it. With hydroponics, the biggest limitation is scale because you need lots of space and equipment to grow things successfully.

      Rain gutter root veg...
...again... How did I not see that... Got rain gutter full of herbs... Never occurred to me it would be a good place for small root veg like beetroot, radish and atlas carrots.
      Excellent.
