That's crazy bro, keep up the effort, looks very good
Thanks Serg. Make sure you share with yelena
That tank is a monster. Looks amazing, dude!
Thank you! Shes a big gal haha
What type of tank do you use
This the Carolina custom tank their “deep paludarium” one
I love the world I love nature.
Me too! Thanks for checking out the video!
Me too! Great comment
@@codya3073 agreed! 😎
Wow is all I can say , just watched this video with my kids and now they want to do one of these wondering the creator would help out with info I’d needed , either way this is awesome
Luckily I have an entire build guide in my videos ☺️
Awesome ! Looka fantastic. You did such a great job!
Thank you so much! I appreciate your continued support Dan!
This was incredible!
Thank you! 👊🏻😊
that is certainly one sprawling rainforest ecosystem!
Thanks It grew in much more than I anticipated
❤this is awesome
Thank you! I’m really glad you enjoyed it :)
Wow, awesome!!! So alive with activity. The plants are wonderful!!! New to your channel and I’ve liked and subscribed 😊
Thanks for subbing! I woke up to this comment and it already made my day!
How can a snail appear even tho u didnt add it ?
It probably hitch hiked on one of the plants
just like luke said in the comment above. It most likely hithhiked its way on one of the existing plants. Believe it the plants that sprouted out on the moss were most likely seeds attached to house flys that managed to get into my apartment from outside that landed in there!
They definitely came from a plant. Could of been just eggs
It actualy looked really cool before the plants even got put in! The Volcano looks freaking legit!
Hey thanks! The volcano I came up with as I went and I appreciate it. It’s my favorite part
Do you need a Licenses or Registration to do, Dart Frog Conservation? I would love to find True Normals Tadpoles.
Nope! As long as you’re getting them locally sourced. When mine start producing I can send ya some!
Beautiful setup! Hope the frogs lay lots of viable eggs!
Hey thanks a lot! I really hope so too! I have 15 of them in there. From 3 different breeders so hopefully will add to a strong gene pool!
I’m a little disappointed that when assembling the polyudarium, non-natural materials are used for the base and wall, foam rubber, glue and silicone, which take up so much space. Natural materials (peat, soil, drainage, or wood with stones and just a little wire for rigidity) could perhaps bring more balance and benefit to the system. But this is the first impression, the first thought that came to mind. I'm not an expert in this at all, I'm just trying to understand how such systems work.
I totally agree that can be beneficial! One of my main aims was to keep the weight of the structure as low as possible. Incase I need to move it out of my apartment in the future. As far as the foam etc everything is aquarium safe and as long as you let the chemicals gas off from curing you won’t have any issues. The entire back wall is now a giant moss wall that’s about an inch thick.
What size acrylic sheet is that, I have the same enclosure and going to make something for my crested gecko. Do you have a link? Thanks.
Tbh I’m not really sure. I just went to Home Depot to get it though
@@alternateaquatics ok thanks lol
Awesome work. ❤️
Thanks I appreciate you!
Amazing! How do you maintain the filter? Do you get it out sometimes to clean?
Howdy, are you asking about the aquarium filter foam? There’s actually almost zero maintenance involved since the whole ecosystem is self cleaning. I just feed them the fruit flies and sometimes trim back the plants. Thanks for checking out the video!
I was assuming the pump also filtered but sounds like that's not needed then. Really nice set up@@alternateaquatics
Oh yeah I set it up so they the water gets sucked through the aquarium filter/false bottom
Then the plants roots remove the fish waste. Essentially this tank is one giant self cleaning filter lol (also the entire bottom is aquarium safe silicone coated by activated aquarium b carbon which is constantly filtering the water)
Fantastic work
Thank you! Cheers!
What brand of tank is that? It's huge and has plenty of depth for water, i love it
Ahh you have an excellent eye for tanks my good sir. That’s the Carolina customs 36 L x 18 w x 36 H
amzn.to/3unOoyQ
@@alternateaquatics Why thank you! I've been trying to find a suitable tank for a few weeks now, this is a big help!
Make sure you take some aquarium safe silicone (clear) and hit all the seams with it or else it will leak on the sections above the water line
Also the glass is thick! So it’s pretty heavy keep that in mind when you build/place it. Mine takes two really strong people to lift it with the rocks etc in it
that was so informative!
Glad you think so!
Hey, what tank is this, is this the 96 gallon amphibian one? id like to get it up need to confirm i can pass wires throught the top of the mesh. thanks in advance! love what you have going on.
Hey thanks for the comment! Here is the exact tank I used! amzn.to/3I0wc1B
I love your ecosystem!
Thank you so much!
Very informative! How long do the eggs take to hatch once they are produced
It takes about 2 weeks for them to hatch
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks
wow this is amazing!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Amazing❤ love it🎉😊
Thanks I really appreciate it! 🙏🏻
Wow this is epic!
Really glad you think so! Thank you!
looks cool!
Thank you!
Amazing video and tank. In the video, you planted a vine and said it turned into an actual canopy. I was wondering what type of plant that is. Thanks!
Thank you!! I think you’re referring to the creeping fig on the right side of the tank!
@@alternateaquaticsI love Creeping Fig. I have variegated Creeping Fig in a plant terrarium I made. It’s such a pretty plant!
Yeah and it’s an absolute beast of a plant! I swear I trim it it every other week now
I suggest getting a better, more crispy mic. This sounds kind of like a turtle beach headset mic.
It’s the yeti mic
@@alternateaquatics I'm guessing you haven't worked on the mic's settings then
The gain and stuff? Lol I’m not very savvy with that admittedly
great video i want to build something like that myself but i sonnt know where to start
You definitely should do it! It’s been so rewarding
that look so awesome
Thanks really glad you think so!
Will snail slime hurt other creatures?
No but the snails will definitely eat the plants if they run out of decaying plant matter/food
I’ve actually seen one of my poison dart frogs eat a baby slug and he had a heck of a time chewing out the slime lol but he did get it down
😘😂😂 Great video!
Thank you!! 😁
Love your work, tried looking you up on FB. ?
Ohh my bad I don’t have an official fb account for the channel. I really appreciate it!!
What type of tank you use

cool
Thanks! :)
🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Undoubtedly the most complete dart frog set up I’ve ever seen.
Really? That makes me super happy! Thanks you!
Heck yeah cant wait to try it one day!
You definitely should! Feel free to reach out to me for advice!
Those Armadillidium vulgare isopods aren't tropical and can't handle the high humidity that the frogs need. Plus they can be destructive to this type of vivarium and it's inhabitants.
If you want a "rolly-polly" type isopod in your dart frog vivarium, Cubaris murina is a better substitute.
I know this video is old, but writing this anyway in hopes someone else can avoid this mistake.
Hey thanks for the comment! You are definitely right with your comment. Luckily the top section of my tank is actually pretty dry since it’s such a tall tank. It’s been almost 2 years now and the population is stable so they have definitely found their own micro environments to thrive in.
But if I could re do it I would go with a more rolly Polly type isopod
At 0:48 the cables form the side profile of a face.
Wow true that! You have a heck of an eye! Lol
Good video btw :D
Thanks! 🙏🏻 😊
cool tank, but your pronunciation of "foliage" hurt my soul. best of luck breeding them!
Haha my bad
I’ll try to correct that moving forward 😁
@@alternateaquatics lol dont worry about it man, looking forward to an update when they breed
I’ve seen a couple of the older ones that were tadpoles almost a year ago pair off into a bromeliad….fingers crossed!!!
